I don’t think he’s lazy. I feel like his style doesn’t adapt well to the “WWE Style.” He was famous for his Strong Style, which we saw a bit in NXT but he has never really been allowed to go all out under the WWE umbrella. I mean look at his main roster debut...they had him get beat down for nearly 20 minutes by Ziggler of all people.
Maybe that’s made him unmotivated to a point but I wouldn’t call him lazy.

I said it years ago. Nakamura is an entrance attraction. When your move set is mainly strikes among a roster that utilize the same moves its very hard to stand out.

He’s been “flat” since his NXT debut match vs Sami Zayn. After that match he became nothing more than a fancy entrance. And since being called up to the main roster he’s regressed even more.

Maybe the Cena botch had something to do with it. His NXT work was much better than in the main roster. Everybody's NXT work was much better than their main roster work, it was an hour show where they weren’t featured on a weekly basis so a lot of flaws were easily hidden that have been exposed on the main roster; it’s happened with everyone. Even the Shield?

Even the Shield? Yup. Ambrose was my second favorite Shield member after Seth when they first came up. Well since they split up his flaws all came out and he’s dropped to a distant third for me now. And everyone was saying how they thought Roman should get a push for the title when they split. Well, they did and all those same fans that were calling for his push turned on him just as quick. So yes it happened to 2/3 of the Shield as well.

The turn would have been even better had he won the stupid title. But since his last loss to AJ he hasn't been the same. The guy is a jobber now. It's a shame how he is being wasted. He has all the tools and it's still not enough to make him World champion. 3 years WWE for nothing. Thanks, Vince!

To be honest, Nakamura doesn't seem to be doing himself any favors. Besides a few matches here and there, he seems uninterested. I'm not sure if he's trying to work safer or if he think WWE's style is beneath him. But he seems lost at times. Which is odd, because he's so good... when he wants to be. As far as his heel turn goes, I still think aligning him with Aiden English would have been the way to go. Let Aiden be his annoying mouthpiece/heater. But at this point, turn him back to a face. Give him a good mid-card push and see where things go from there. ::in aiden's voice:: IIIIIT'S SHIN SU KAAAAAYYYYYYYY would be the perfect opponent for Rusev

Universal WWE IC US Unified/Raw tag team NXT Slammy MITB Royal Rumble Taker's streak Titles really don’t mean anything in wrestling, Koko B. Ware apparently had a Hall of Fame career and he didn’t win a damn title in WWE. Ambrose was never featured on NXT, Reigns made about 3 appearances so you can’t really judge what I said about them. Also NXT on Hulu was nowhere near the phenomenon it became once it was on the Network and by that time The Shield were on the main roster for 2 years. But I do agree with PJ about Ambrose and Reigns, I’d like to add that Rollins has made very little improvement on the microphone, he’s only a big superstar because he can put on good matches consistently even if he is running/jumping around, not selling for 20 mins which drives me nuts. I get that the guy does CrossFit but Jesus, he looks like you’re playing SmackDown vs RAW with the stamina system off and this is coming from someone that is a fan of The Shield lol Apologies to OP for going so off topic too.

What I will say is that when Rollins was a heel his mic work was far superior. He's out of his comfort zone as a face which has resulted in poorer promos.

Anyone with eyes in their head saw this coming from the moment it was announced he'd signed in 2016. WWE has ALWAYS done this with Japanese guys.

No doubt and he played a chicken sh*t heel very well but sadly most of WF didn’t like it because they wanted him to beat everyone clean and look strong.

Anyone with eyes in their head saw this coming from the moment it was announced he'd signed in 2016. WWE has ALWAYS done this with Japanese guys. It could have been different this time. It really could have. But after Summerslam 2018 it was clear WWE will never have a recognized Japanese World champion. And when someone from Japan does end up winning the Big Belt, that reign is "not recognized" for whatever reason. So yeah, Shinsuke was the last hope for all Japanese wrestlers trying to make it into the main event scene in WWE, but winning the Rumble is as close as they'll ever get. The loss wouldn't have hurt Aj IN THE LEAST, so dropping the title to Nakamura just once could have changed the latter's career. And where is Shinsuke now? Feuding with Rusev/New Day. This is some bullshit. Thanks, Vince.

I thought Nakamura sucked during his NXT run. I thought he sucked during his baby face Smackdown run. But I think his heel run has been great! He worked a program with the WWE Champion as a heel. He won the US title - twice - as a heel. He has awesome new theme music as a heel. He comes off funnier and more entertaining as a heel. This

Rollins shouldn't be beating everyone clean as a heel. He's perfect for the chicken crapheel. Some are some aren't. He is.

WWE's style must feel like a massage compared to the puro-infused beatings he took for years. And that is in no way meant as an insult to WWE's style. But, on the other hand, that isn't the best way to stay employed...
