I’ll get these but man, I’m not excited about them. I'm still excited for them... they seem to have been announced/shown ages ago though. I wish they could do the sets quaterly or something - it would really help build momentum and excitement for the line. I’m feeling the same way. At first I was like “nice, we get a Nikolai to go with Iron Sheik” and now I’m thinking “ok we’re getting a Nikolai… cool but he doesn’t really even go with the other three… and why did we have to wait so long just to get to the day to pre order???” Getting more out faster would really give these more momentum for sure.

I'm excited by the upcoming bundle; I'm rearranging my Wednesday so I can be free for the launch, I'm so scarred by this year's SDCC ridiculous sell-out that I'm going to be a nervous wreck by the time the sale starts Hopefully this one will last a few hours like the first set did so more people have a chance. That Jimmy Hart is the stand-out figure in the set for sure - if you'd given me that figure in 1993 then I would've been hyper for days, I so desperately wanted managers in my fed, with Jimmy probably being top of my list along with Sherri. I know it's just the Gene body reused, and the megaphone is from the other lines so probably too big but looks passable, so I think it's a great figure. Volkoff I didn't really know outside of his run with the Million Dollar Corporation, but I'm happy to have him as well. Not sure about the body choice but I'm not really a fan of the kicker body anyway so I might be harsh on it for that reason alone. Feels like he should be bigger though. But the Hart Foundation, I'm not sure I get the decisions here. It seemed like they went with the SummerSlam '90 look (did they wear those tights before that I just don't know about?), but then they put the older sunglasses on Bret - not that big a deal I guess since at least they gave him the longer hair to match that time period. But then they've put a picture of him on the card with shorter hair from the earlier heel run of the team - which matches the sunglasses at least. So are they going for a mix of eras? The heel Harts at least helps with the Anvil figure as he wasn't quite as big around the waist at that time, but still seems odd to not go with either a consistent heel or face Hart Foundation offering - pick an era, basically. They should have the singlet details by now as well - Mattel will get plenty of use out of that tooling if the line continues so it's worth the investment (I say this realising that I don't know what the investment actually is, but still ). The biggest question for me is: why aren't they using actual real photos anymore on the cards?? Chella and ZST need to use drawings of WWE photos as they obviously don't have access to the WWE photo archive, but Mattel do - so why the change from what they were doing with the first 10 sets with in-ring photos? Am I the only one not understanding this choice? Or am I the only one who thinks actual photos looks better? I'd think that it must cost a bit more to make these designs then to just do the cards with photos, so why use the budget on something like that? But the line is going in the right direction, and I'm going to be counting-down the days until I get these in-hand... and then immediately I'll start waiting impatiently for the next bundle

Jimmys fine. Pretty lazy not to at least givem one arm different than gene. Volkoffs okay; those little legs are ridiculous. Anvil with abs instead of a gut is hard to look past. How bad bret is, is impossible to look past. Little legs again and thick painted straps with no elbow pads. I get that they obviously have a mega thin budget and tooling for these, but if you can't do a guy justice than figure out something else. I'll still be buying them to support the line, but this set is definitely worse than the last. Jimmy is gene with a different head, volkoff is piper with a different head and bret is orton with a different head. Like cmon. Its bad enough spread out, but back to back 3 outta 4...

I'm a teeny bit curious why they didnt go with the 1990-era Hart Foundation and instead went with something more akin to 87/88 The attire was worn at Mania 7. Quick image search will bring it up. 2-tone heart on chest, white on back of trunks, correct color top and bottom and stripe. Think it's pretty much that look, why they went with head designs that reflect a much earlier period, I have no clue. Think I'll end up head swapping at least Bret unless the shades come off?

You know, I might be out on this second set. I am super pumped that the line is back, but Bret and Anvil the more I look at them the less I like them. I'm a moc collector and that Bret image is terrible. I have no desire for a Nikolai Volkoff figure, but at least I could place him next to Iron Shiek. The only figure out of the four I actually like is Jimmy Hart. Would it be worthwhile to buy the set, keep Jimmy and then sell the other three? Yeah, Hart Foundation will be hot for sure likely, Volkof probably not so much though. I think I want like 4 sets of the Hart Foundation (1 loose to keep mint, 1 MOC, 1 to play with, 1 for a gift for someone). I really only need one each of Jimmy and Volkoff out of FOMO, but older era isn't really what I'm after nor managers, I just think it was engrained in my mind to only need wrestlers since that's all Hasbro ever made, so I never thought about managers or announcers when I was a kid. Did they say what the quantity limit is per order? And is there a way to get around that if you want to order 4 sets total? Do you need a 2nd creations account linked to a different email address/different shipping address? I do have a PO box to use as a 2nd address. I know Cardona talked about how he had him and Chelsea both order S1 so he could get 4 sets. I've never used creations so going in blind pretty much, I did create one account on my primary email address though.

There's a limit to two sets per customer, like the first set - you can see it on the product page; I was going to ask Steve about until I spotted it. I think I remember hearing something about extra orders being cancelled after the first set sold-out, but that's probably just rumours, not sure I remember seeing that confirmed. Plus the 7-minute sell-out of this year's SDCC sell-out and the eBay listings that almost immediately appeared indicates they might not be too bothered about guys getting around the rules.

Yeah, I remember the limit of 2 for S1 which I didn't order anyway. But, this should be different than a CC exclusive right? Didn't the T/Piper set last about six hours or so? Still wish they would put up enough that it would last a few days, but at least a few hours I can deal with trying to make time to order.

I don’t want ruthless aggression anywhere near this line . They’ve got their own line . For those who want “newer” Retros, I’ll give you up to Mania 14 This is my exact thoughts too, to me when the belts changed the night after WM14 everything was different and full blown attitude era, I was way into it at the time, but looking back I have no nostalgia for any of it, outside the tippy top guys like Austin, Rock, Foley and so on. I want pretty much WM4-WM14. Nice ten year run, also happens to be the exact run of the Winged Eagle belt. I also want WCW mid 90's, but not really Galoob or Russo era guys.

Yeah, it seems to be a mash-up, the attire looks to be from 1990/91 but the head (well, the glasses) of Bret looks to be from 1987/88. He started wearing the "Hitman" shades in late 1988/early 1989. Depending on what the back of the tights looks like, it can work for either Summer Slam 1990 or WrestleMania 7. I don't think the glasses are removable. It really should have come with the silver shades. If it's pink with their nickname on the back, then its Summer Slam 1990: If there is a white patch on the back with their nickname on it, then it's WrestleMania 7:

Still wish they would put up enough that it would last a few days, but at least a few hours I can deal with trying to make time to order. Yeah there will almost certainly be a lot more than the SDCC set, but that's mostly because they seem to insist on keeping the numbers for those sets far lower than they know they can sell now that they are offering them online as well as at the con - they deliberately make the SDCC the coolest release of the year for obvious reasons, and they have shifted away from Elites to Ultimates where they know there are collectors with complete collections, etc., but still they only make enough available online to last 7 minutes or less, with no second run for those who missed-out or anything. For whatever reason, they don't want to sell the SDCC exclusive in adequate numbers to meet demand. But the last Retros set made it to around 5 hours, so must be in bigger numbers. I remember a lot of collectors on the west coast were upset that they had all gone by the time they finished work, so it'll be interesting to see what happens here. The 2 sets limit maybe suggests that it will be the same quantity produced as last time, but if they had time to order a higher number then before then surely they would've done so after the first set went so quick? Time will tell.

I'm curious whether most people that buy only one set open or leave then on the cards. The obvious answer is buy two sets but if you can really only budget one set is it best to open or leave moc? I have set one still moc but I'm always tempted to open.

They should have made Bret with silver shades and should have been 1990/91 images on the cards. I don't like the Mattel cards anyway, so I'll probably pick up custom cards on ebay and reseal anyway.

I hope they produced more this time, I think on the Hart Foundation being here will make demand much bigger since they were actually one of the top few guys that Hasbro didn't get out at least in proper gimmick. I hated the New Foundation Anvil and would have given anything to have a proper Hart Foundation set. The first run was off base to what people actually wanted, people weren't really asking for mid 80's guys. And it does suck for people that are working, or even for me, I work 3rd shift and would usually be asleep before noon, but I'll have to stay up to try and get these. I also don't have a smart phone, so if I'm at work or away from home on vacation or anything when something would drop, I wouldn't be able to order.

Wow, the site is now saying ships on or before September 2, 2022. Sounds like these are prepped and ready to go, that definitely adds to my excitement.
