Just got them in hand a few hours ago. I like Tugboat more than I thought I would. Lex’s outfit is great but his lack of a tan is really noticeable. These really need better skin color. http://instagr.am/p/CoDtc7QMzr5 I threw in some comparison photos to see how they match up with the Hasbros. These are all customs but very close to the real thing. Unfortunately I don’t have a custom Tugboat so I could only do the other three. I’ll post them here because I know not everyone uses Instagram: Greg’s head on the Mattel is WAY too big 😩

Looking at the Greg pics above, his face kind of reminds of the scene from Total Recall when that dude comes out of the guys stomach!

Got my set today and the bubbles on both Doink and Valentine are cracked quite a bit. I could almost take the Valentine out of the package his is open so bad. Luckily my buddy is sending me his set once he gets it so I can take loose pics for him, so hopefully his aren't damaged so I can keep his for the MOC collection and open mine for his pics. I really don't want to have to deal with trying to get a replacement from Mattel.

My Orange card set just arrived (UK)!! Nice. How long did they take to arrive? I’m thinking I’m going to piece together from secondary market because the prices there are pretty much retail but with less postage for series 2

I tried-out the new more expensive international shipping route for this set - it only took like three days Came via DHL, picked-up in the US on Monday and in my hands here in Yorkshire on Wednesday. Now I'm not sure I'm always going to go that route as I'm rarely in a rush, but that seems incredible to me - if Mattel had not been so late sending mine out (compared to others) then mine would've beaten most American deliveries.

Damn that’s pretty impressive! Royal Mail or courier delivery? I might actually dive in and get from mattel instead. I thought I’d be waiting ages!

Wave 3 arrived today, uk based. I love all of them, The Tugboat is awesome, and can't really pick fault to be honest. Not keen on the Lex mould in general and Greg's head is a little big. I just hope Mattel keep momentum on this line now.

Re-carded my Tugboat, didn't do the cleanest job on the glue on the left side, but think it looks cool.

I'm in the UK and my figures came this morning. They are awesome, but my Tugboat is coming off the card Thankfully my son is off school sick today (not that I am happy he is sick) but he makes Warhammer models and he says that he can carefully use his glue to attach it back. Sucks this happened as this is my favorite figure of the set. My theory is that it is the weight of the figure that did it. Would there be any point in me contacting Mattel about this? I do not want a replacement or money back or anything, but if I tell them perhaps it may help them take better care in the future? I actually like all four in this set and my official rankings are, Tugboat Lex Luger Greg Valentine Doink Bring on the NWO sets!

Mine just arrived today and wow - this is more like it!
The new body parts for Tugboat. The moulded jacket on Greg. I even think Lex looks great even though I usually hate this action!
If the line continues like this, it's going to be fun ride!
Please Mattel, may I have some more!

How would people feel about Mattel going with the 2-pack design going forward? Based on RSC's unboxing it looks like the 2-packs will be resealable, would people want them to do the standard figures that way? As a loose collector I'm a really big fan of this because I want loose figures but hate defiling the packaging. Feels like it may be a good way to insure better QC for the people who want minty MOC figures. Would the lack of continuity bother MOC collectors?

From what I saw of the NWO sets that is the way to go.

I received my Orange Card sets today. If you just look at the figures by themselves, i think they look really good. But, since it was always my dream to have Rhythm 'n' Blues next to each other, I decided to (for the first time) unpack a Retro Figure and display it with my loose Honky Tonk Man. And it wasn't a good decision.
First of all, I was really surprised, that those Retros feel like LJN figures and not like Hasbros at all. And then....well I think the pictures speak for themselves. That Greg figure just doesn't fit with the Hasbro Honky at all.
I hope the Chella version will fit better

I have tried asking Steve over in the Q&A when the nWo series might be released. Between that and the last 3-4 questions I have asked, I’m starting to think I’ve been blocked or perhaps punished. They never seem to get answered even with a generic “Check back soon!” or whatever.
