What if Sami was absolutely no different than the first release?

The more I think about it -- the more disappointing the Brother Love/ring grab situation is.

Not only am I forced to spend so much money to get Brother Love, but there's not going to be demand for the ring given they *just* put out Wrestlemania.

I could try and sell it - but I'm likely going to just throw it out. And on top of that, they're not even releasing it close to Christmas so I can donate to a toy drive or something.


This line only gets a few releases a year, and it feels wrong to capitalize on Retro customers specifically that way.

In listening to the Mattel panel from SDCC, they said Brother Love would be carded…so I am curious how they plan to package him with the ring. Will it be inside the ring box? Separate/on the outside? Will the card be unique or will it blend into more recent Retro series?

Also, I’ve grown to be excited over the new ring. My only problem is that I have yet to figure out where I am going to put it. I was reorganizing my display yesterday (starting to anyway) and wanted to have a dedicated space ready for the ring once it arrives (to avoid having to shuffle everything for the the third time within a year). As it is now, I have 20 rings on display in my toy room/office:

They had no choice. Most of us all have multiple rings and just want our brother love. I wish mattel would try to develop some playsets other than a diff colored ring everytime. Maybe something like oh i dont know brother loves' studio? What a novel concept no? Like the simpsons environment sets.

I swear it really feels like mattel is boeing and hasbro is airbus. We know what happens when money is the only conversation in the boardroom. They look at sales numbers instead of thinking outside the box.!

All these years and not one playset. The retro series is perfect for these too. I would love to see playmates get the license one day. They would be pumping out a different series every month and playsets galore!!

+1 How hard would it have been to add a little stage, podium and fabric backdrop? If only someone had suggested it using the suggestions tab last year oh that's right I did 😥

Poor Bruce, that ring is not gonna sell out until 20 minutes after he passes.

Rings that have figures puts me in a tough position as a moc collector. I have zero use for them, and have enough of a tough time storing the hundreds of figures I already have, so I have no room for rings. I will say though, the different color retro rings look amazing and I might have to get one or two to pass on to my son when he gets older. I will either buy the ring with Brother Love or just pay the price on eBay for just the figure. He's a must have for any retro collector in my opinion.
I just hope they don't stick him in a bag or a windowless package. That's always been a deal breaker for me regardless of who it is.
