There are some shows coming to my area in a few months (Raw, SDL, and a house show) and I usually try to go to at least one each time they come here. I've been to over 50 shows in my life, so I'm very familiar with the process. The ticket prices are just getting out of hand for a few reasons. One, the ticketmaster fees keep getting more expensive. For example, two $35 tickets to SDL after "convenience" fees, "processing" fees, "facilities" fees, and tax, the total is $100. And on top of that they charge $5 to send me the god damn tickets. For SDL I would prefer to just get the cheapest tickets at $20 but none are available because 1) the upper sections are all tarped off, and 2) all of the right half of the arena are blocked off, forcing fans to buy the remaining expensive (overpriced) tickets. I refuse to do that, because two $45 or $60 tickets would end up being close to $200 when you're done. Not to mention driving 3 hours round trip, half a tank of gas, $30 for parking, and that's not counting any merch (which usually don't get) and food for half of the day. The Raw show is the same way. This is in the northern California market, one of the biggest in the country - the bay area with San Jose and the state capital in Sacramento. Going to shows really adds up. I'm not complaining about that. But what I'm saying is that I'm not going to buy a ticket if it's not at the $20 price. It's not worth it for me to go through the effort and additional time and cost if I don't feel the benefit is there. I enjoy going to shows, but the money is not worth it to me with the product and money is more valuable to me than ever because of my long-term goals. I've spent loads on money on WWE and live events in my life, including 5 trips to WrestleMania, I've been to WWE shows in 6 different states, so I'm not whining about the process, rather the opposite. Does anyone of you feel the same way? It's no wonder attendance has been dropping for all US shows, even Raw has been having trouble filling arenas, not just SDL. And the more tickets end up costing, the more attendance will decline.

I agree completely. I went to an MST3K live show last year and the Ticketmaster fees were something like $3 less than the ticket. So I basically paid double to use a website and pick my ticket up at the venue's box office.

This, and the fact that WWE never comes within 100 miles of me, I never get to go. I may not be the ultimate WWE fan, but I want to see wrestling damn it.

In general, yeah, it sucks. Though I found it pretty fair for my Mania tickets, and there was no additional cost shipping the tickets.

If your wondering why the house show attendance is down this is why, high ticket price and they will keep going up.

I know that international fans might not have much sympathy for US fans because of the availability of live events here, but it's still an issue for us when we make up the bulk of WWE's shows for the year. Plus, WWE goes the extra mile for their international cards and the US shows can be hardly worth the price sometimes.

Aside from tickets just being more expensive the fees are just outrageous! Almost double the ticket cost sometimes! Also why do house shows and tv cost the same?! It’s the exact reason why attendance is down but wwe does not care because they’re still making more money. It’s almost impossible for most families to afford going. If a family of 4 goes they have to spend 200-500 dollars easily and half of the advertised roster doesn’t show up or in a 2 minute segment. Sure the bad storylines do affect but the biggest problem is the ticket cost.

A North American house show card will have some solid matches but it appears the European shows are better since the crowds are more enthusiastic since they only go there twice a year.

They may or may not. 10 years or so ago, which really wasn't that long ago, the house shows were VERY slim with a good half of the house show talent not even being on TV. I've been to some pretty pathetic house shows. With today's bursting roster you will have some good matches, but it's such a cookie-cutter experience, if you've been to one you've been to them all.

House shows don't matter anymore and they have to pay these outrageous contracts somehow. All that matters are TV ratings and network buys. It use to be that house shows is where the money was made. That's why ticket prices back in the day were a lot cheaper because the wrestling companies knew they would sell out almost every time.

[Puts on typical troll poster mask]You can't afford a 400% mark up on shows? Maybe you should stop being into wrestling.
------
Yeah, obviously the fees are absurd. Unfortunately I don't think I'll ever get to attend a live show because of that. Maybe in the next life I'll be someone successful so I can make snarky remarks on wrestling forums and wear obnoxious neon shirts in the front row of every show.

Yeah I can afford pretty much anything I want within reason with good money management, that's not the issue here. I shudder to think how much I've spent on WWE tickets alone in my life. But the problem is that the tickets are outrageously expensive. 2 $20 tickets would be $75 total when it's all said and done. That's just stupid to say out loud.

Canada gets it worse. not as many talent, as some of the better talent takes the Canadian leg off it would seem. and rarer shows overall even in our capitals.
