Just wanted to note that the top 3 threads with the most recent activity on the WWE board are about people not currently with WWE lol

I'm going to say now what I said months ago when AEW was announced....why does it have to be AEW vs. WWE? Why does everyone want or think the purpose of AEW should be to try and put WWE out of business? I just don't understand this mind set. Why can't AEW just be another wrestling company that people can choose to watch or not watch based upon their own personal enjoyment of the product? Again, what is the point? All we've been reading online for months is "AEW is going to be better because Vince stole all the wrestlers from the other companies and put everyone else out of business"....and then AEW fans proceed to tell us how AEW is going to steal all of WWE's wrestlers and put WWE out of business. lol The more companies that exist, the better it is for the fans and the better it is for the WRESTLERS. It's good to have options. Back in the day I used to watch WWF, ECW and WCW....and as a FAN, it sucked when WCW and ECW went out of business. Less options. Never saw a lot of my favorite stars again. AEW and WWE don't need to be "at war", but AEW fans really seem to want that for some reason. I don't hear ANY WWE fans sitting over here going "man I hope AEW falls flat on its ass and fails and goes out of business". So maybe everyone can just calm the down? I agree 100%. The only thing i can think of as to why there's this "AEW vs WWE, us vs them" mentality is cause a lot of the fans with this mentality missed out on the Monday Night Wars, and they want to live those years, so they think with AEW, they could live out what they missed out of from 95 to 01. I'm not saying its right, but its the only thing i could think of other than super marks wanting to belong to something. I missed out on the years where WCW was beating WWF, but i was able to watch the final year of the war in 2000, so i sorta got to live the Monday Night Wars. I just wish for a great product from both companies. I wish AEW nothing but success (even though Cody and Brandi are egomaniacal douchebags), and I wish WWE nothing but success as well (even though i wish Vince would step down).

I can't speak for the rabid "AEW vs WWF" hardcore fans who want to put either company out of business. But from a purely business perspective - competition is a good thing. WCW was able to compete on par with WWF because it had the billionaire funding behind it. Realistically that's the only way a wrestling company can compete with the global juggernaut that is the WWE machine. AEW has a billionaire investor, they have the potential to draw top names, and they have a x-factor in the sense that Cody/Dustin have Dusty's DNA and we all know how ahead of his time Dusty was in innovating wrestling. Do I want AWE to drive WWE out of business? Not at all, but when one company betters their storyline, ups their production, and invests in their talent - it speaks in ratings and network contracts - and that's when everyone takes notice. I think competition is great for business. The worse thing that ever happened to the WWF/E product was buying out WCW. We've been complaining about how they are phoning it in since then. We bitch and complain about what Vince wants us to like/not like and we swear off the product, but ultimately we're glued to the TV by the next WrestleMania. Now AEW gives us a viable option to up both products.

What I'm looking forward to most about AEW is just the fact that there will be no invisible brass ring to reach for. Guys are going to be positioned in the best spots to succeed for the better of the company and check the egos at the door. Could that change over time as they get bigger? Sure, but right now the focus is on the startup and the company making it. And at the very least, there will be more an emphasis on wrestling. I'm excited to finally see Moxley perform on a big stage without the glass ceiling of Roman Reigns above him.

I'm looking forward to seeing what AEW puts forth when the time comes to produce 52+ shows a year, but I don't have any plans to abandon WWE either.

TNA fans tried to act like this too when Impact moved to Monday nights in 2010 but I think you’re absolutely right.

There were many WWE fans wishing TNA would go out of business. Im not talking about 2015-current when they got kicked off Spike TV and all the wrestlers started leaving. Im talking 2009-2014. I think by 2009 we had given TNA a long enough chance. It wasn't new anymore. At that point it became evident that TNA had some awesome stars that were just flat out wasting their time in TNA and I think the majority of the fans just wanted TNA to go away so we could get some of these stars onto the big stage before it was too late. And at that point TNA was becoming more and more of a landing spot for WWF and WCW wash outs and it became less and less about the ORIGINAL talent TNA built at the beginning. When Ric Flair is wresting matches and Mick Foley is the world Champion and we are starting a period of time that would lead to AJ Styles being forced out of the company.....it wasn't good product. They were fine up until 2010. That's when all the former WWE guys took center stage. It all started with Hogan and Bischoff coming in.

So, Jericho just put out a new episode of his podcast this morning with Moxley/Ambrose, and it is really full of fascinating stuff. I am posting this here because Moxley details his entire exit from the WWE and how crazy the creative process is and how much he hated the promos he had to read word-for-word, especially during his heel turn when he had to bring up Roman's cancer during his promo as a heel. He said he pretty much knew he was going to leave by last July, but the promo on Raw when he was at the doctor's and got a shot in his ass he almost walked out. It's a really good listen, as we never actually get full details like this that come straight from a current wrestler of what goes on backstage in the company. Great stuff.

Listening to it now and man Vince seems like the worst possible person to work for.

I think Moxley is going to gain "CM Punk" like internet hype.

Vince beat the government, AEW ain’t crap. Vince is beating himself right now. That's the irony of this whole deal. It's not about AEW. Vince's hubris has given birth to AEW. AEW is simply capitalizing on an opportunity that Vince has afforded them. Vince is Julius Caesar...

I'm merging these since there's no reason to have two threads about Ambrose/Moxley on the front page. One will suffice.

6 or so months ago he was getting injections into his ass and was seen as a joke of a heel.
Fast Forward to today...
He's probably the hottest wrestler in the world right now, the talk of the Wrestling world, and has a whole thread dedicated to him.
