Warrior was fired by Vince in November 1992 and wouldn't resurface for a few years, but where would he fit in with the WWF in 1993 even if he did stick around?
I read that Bret was scheduled to face (and defeat) him at the Royal Rumble, but I just have a hard time filling in the blanks afterwards. Even when he returned in 1992, he kind of felt out of place. The company changed so much from 1991-1993. Vince was going forward with Bret on top, so what do you do with Warrior that year?
The company was dangerously low on main event heels. Also, they were obviously transitioning to a product more focused on smaller, technical wrestlers and work rate which made Warrior look like a square peg in a round hole.
1993 is not regarded as a great year for the WWF, but I've always loved it. Almost like those awkward teen years everybody has to go through. Hogan was pretty much gone by this point and Savage was already being phased out from in-ring action. A guy like Warrior would've stuck out like some relic from a lost generation.
I mean, can you imagine the mental scarring a Warrior/Giant Gonzalez feud would have caused?

Would've been interesting if they turned him heel for the match with Bret which I think would've been ideal since his character needed change by this time period.
If he stayed face then yeah matches with Gonzalez(shutters) and Yoko would've been for sure.

Maybe a feud with the Narcissist. He wouldve been out of place no matter what and there is a reason he was out of wrestling that year.

I often wondered if they would have continued with the Ultimate Maniacs. They worked with Money Inc. in the fall of 1992, I wonder if Warrior stayed would he and Savage have faced Money Inc. at WrestleMania 9 instead of Beefcake and Hogan.

Warrior, along with Sting and Hogan were the top faces around that time. Could a warrior heel turn in 93 have taken the shine off of Hogan’s excellent heel turn in 96?
I’m going with Warrior as heel, we could have got Hogan v Warrior at WM9, giving Hulk his victory back and adding a marquee match to a struggling Mania

While it was very shortlived I remember the Ultimate Maniacs being over like crazy so I would assume they would have stayed together for at least a little while. Who knows, the two falling out and feuding once again could have been one of the big storylines of 1993.

Vince might have held off on trying to put Randy out to pasture if he was involved in a big money angle with Warrior.

I can't imagine Warrior agreeing to going heel, if he had stayed around he would've probably expirienced the "Roman Reigns Syndrome". The fans would've eventually soured on him, especially with the rise of guys like Bret and Shawn.
I could see them continuing the Mega Maniacs stuff, them versus Money Inc. would've made much more sense anyway, maybe continue his feud with The Undertaker.
Otherwise he would've probably just been going against the next "bad guy of the week", maybe Luger or Bam Bam.
In the end, the era of guys like Warrior was over at that point and he would've probably soon been gone from the company even without the contract controversy.

If Bret would have beaten him at Royal Rumble 93 the only things I can think of are a feud with one of the top heels at the time or he and Savage facing Money Inc at wrestlemania and winning the tag team titles. Warrior never did win a tag title. A feud with Doink would have been funny.

Him screaming No!!!!!! at her when she asked him for a title shot on Savage's behalf lol

I see your point, but I think the sole concept of the bodyslam challenge was to establish a huge platform to jumpstart Lex. I really don't think they had that event booked on the calendar from day one. Once Hogan bounced and they decided on Luger, this was Vince's creation to help him get over as quickly as possible. Warrior would've been too easy of a choice.

Fair point......Warrior & Bulldog getting the bullet prompted Vince to really beg Hogan to come back & pursue Sting( who he obviously didn't get) so everything that happened after was due to Warrior's absence in some way or another. The Mega Maniacs basically took the place of Ultimate Madness in the feud with Money Inc too....

classicfan2 I'm sorry for asking what I did. If you like big man matches that's fine. I mean why shouldn't you? Because Joke Meltzer wouldn't give them 5 stars(or even half of one). The first five summerslams to me were awesome shows, but because Meltzer doesn't think a lot of matches were good, people think they weren't. As a kid I probably would have looked forward to the spectacle of Giant Gonzales vs Ultimate Warrior.
