Todays fans are fickle and only support stars until they reach the top. After WM 30 people started turning on Bryan and the same thing happened to Balor in 2016 during the build up to his Summerslam match.
Also if Rollins's title reign was bad blame it on the bookers who teamed him with Becky and had him fight Corbin 3 times. Unlike Lesnar at least he showed up and defended his belt like a true champion.

It isn’t just now, I’ve seen plenty of other fans as well as myself dislike him for a while now. I loved his cowardly heel work which majority b*tched about for being made to look “weak” despite him doing all the right things to generate cheap heat as a heel and it was a great character even with the Authority as his entourage. But I think he flat out sucks as a face, and his matches are just meh. I can appreciate his athleticism, endurance and stamina to wrestle the way and for how long he does but he never ever seems to sell or show any signs of struggle to continue during a match which I personally find important when trying to tell a story. I know it’s fake but Jesus, you see someone get their ass kicked for 15 mins straight only to see them dive out the ring twice, miss a corkscrew 450 splash but successfully avoid impact to go onto doing a super-plex into a suplex and then hit his finisher and win showing no signs of fatigue or injury is a big turn off for me, the guy just doesn’t sell. You couldn’t even feel invested into his WrestleMania match with Brock because the build-up was almost non-existent, he has one of the most annoying catchphrases ever and the whole thing with Becky Lynch is cringe worthy. So yeah I pretty much haven’t enjoyed Seth since he turned face in 2016 before somebody thinks I jumped on the bandwagon 🤷🏽♂️ The whole “workhorse” gimmick that was big in the 90’s with Shawn, Bret etc doesn’t mean as much in this day and age with Seth, Daniel Bryan etc IMO.

i have no issues with corbin being his first challenger because i had a feeling seth would have a legit reign as champ, plus corbin just came off retiring angle. the mitb match with styles could've been built, even saved until after styles turned heel and reformed the club. then lesnar comes back and they play hot potato with the belt and now we have the relationship with becky shoved down our throats. hopefully after braun i would like to see maybe mcintyre, heel aj, maybe heel miz?, and bring back lashley to a full blown monster heel to feud with him to end the year.
i know this didn't answer the question, i just feel like his challengers/title reign has had something to do with the "hate".

I think the crowd turns on so many performers who are thrust into the main event because they aren't main event material, so it seems silly when they try to act the part. And I think the fans booing a Seth or Roman isn't a good thing, like Ronda Rousey or Brock Lesnar heat - those are main event talents. Ronda and Brock can move the fans to react - we kind of love to hate them. Roman, Seth, and others get the crowds to groan instead because we'd rather not see or hear them at all.

Seth Rollins is a great wrestler..
but he is the ultimate puppet! plus he lacks charisma at times, you can sense he does not act on his own and in the past the best champs/legends have been strong minded individuals with CAJONES!
recent examples:
- Lesnar - Bryan
older examples:
- Austin - Punk - HBK - Hitman the list goes on...
I do believe that the tag team title story line with Braun is gonna end up with them feuding, classic WWE

it's mainly because he twitter beefed with Will Ospreay and looked embarrassing trying to defend WWE's honor, when he had multiple attempts at salvaging the convo, he thought: "F it" and started comparing salaries during the end of it, as a pseudo moot point to win the squabble, but it ultimately came off as being the corporate clown. Not to mention the juxtaposition of claiming days later that Twitter and other social media a cesspool of negativity (it depends on the person, but that's not the point) is highly suspicious considering that he got horribly mad that people aren't liking WWE's crappy product (I mean, AEW and CMLL definitely come to mind)

He's decent - but is not headliner quality, and has no business beating Lesnar twice, or being a three-time, dual champion.

I just kinda like him. He was my least favorite Shield member. He's good but he thinks too highly of himself when he's really not anything special when you compare him to superstars of the past.

As others have said... FICKLE.
If people were truly Rollins fans, then whatever he said on Twitter or whatever sh*t promos WWE give him wouldn't turn them against him. Rollins was always my favorite Shield member, although at the time I didn't envision him becoming the star and champion that he is. It took him a while to get going as a babyface, and sure at times it doesn't always click, but I'm just a huge Rollins fan and him being one of the top guys is what I've really wanted to happen.

He's a solid mid carder. His matches always lack a big match feel. He's worked hard to get where he is but he's a bit boring. I miss Cena

He's trying too hard to be a "company guy". When replying to haters on Twitter (I just cringed writing that sentence), he compared the WWE to the NY Yankees. Saying they get a lot of hate, but they have a legacy of winning & making history over & over. Plus, he has an annoying voice. And think about it- how many tough guys do you know named "Seth". Pretty boring name.

Seth is the best total package star on the roster by a mile. He has been since the second he came up with the Shield, and he's more polished now than ever before.
I guess I didn't expect his internet street credit to last forever, but he was a star in Ring of Honor at a time when guys like Nigel, A Double, Bryan, Hero and Davey were on top of that company. He watched WrestleKingdom 11 and came right out and said he hoped Kenny Omega was in the Royal Rumble, a video which WWE removed. He incorporated a Rain Maker/V-Trigger hybrid into his everynight move set. Oh, and when he's not in the ring for WWE, he's training at his school teaching future generations of pro wrestlers. Rollins is more plugged into wrestling than 95% of the guys in the world right now.
Will Ospreay is cool and all but that entire situation was a work. Battle lines are being drawn because fans are inherently tribal, and the boys are going to take advantage of that mentality. Triple H is Seth's real life mentor. He's been in WWE for 9 years. WWE is his home. He's been given MITB, the Royal Rumble, he's a 4 time World Champion and he's still only 33 years old. I'd be sticking up for my company, too. Trust me when I say I'm on the AEW bandwagon, but there is a big difference between the AEW schedule, or even the Joey Ryan schedule, and what Vince asks his performers to do night-in, and night-out. Especially in Seth's situation where he's a figure head for the corporate entity.
Seth is exactly who I would have built my company around had he shown up at my door in 2010. He's a first round draft pick that has given WWE more than they could have ever expected. He deserves every bit of where he's at right now. He's going to turn heel, just like Bryan, and everyone on the internet will be allowed to love him again.

After reading these comments I have to ask, if Seth isn't cut out to be a top guy then who exactly is? He puts on great matches each week and is an absolute workhorse. He has a presence about him and has the image of a main eventer. Maybe WWE should offer guys like Taker, HHH, Cena, HBK etc full time contracts to give the main event scene star power and keep the younger guys in the mid/lower card.
