Well to be fair, Sting was an old man who shouldn't have been wrestling in the WWE at that time.
Rollins was totally reckless, Sting may have been old but the buckle bomb is one of the most ludicrously dangerous moves I've ever seen. Sting went out on a massive low, in part because of Rollins. And I value Sting, even old man Sting far more than I ever will Rollins. We really saying a back bump on padded turnbuckles is more reckless than the possibility of actually breaking your neck on a Piledriver out here? Wild.

Pretty sure Rollins also hurt Bàlor and Cena and maybe others. Let's not diminish Sting as a wrestler just because of his age. Maybe Sting should have said he didn't want to take it, sure. By that excuse maybe Rollins shouldn't have tried to give Sting that move. Rollins should've taken better care of Sting. Let's also not pretend Sting didn't keep wrestling well up until his signing with WWE.
Sorry that Sting can't do a Phoenix Splash onto his feet and do a roll through twice a week. Like my original reply, there's more to getting over than just your ability to do wrestling moves.

It doesnt matter how good you are in the ring if you have horrible mic skills. Who does have good mic skills these days? Everyone on the roster gets criticised for not being able to cut a decent promo. Also when Seth was a heel he was great on the mic. The Miz, the Miz has mic skills

Well maybe old man Sting should have told Seth, "I can't take those new fancy moves, let me just howl at the audience, beat my chest, do a stinger splash and scorpion death drop, blowing out my back because I am 50 and shouldn't be wrestling anymore."
I was a huge Sting fan... in the 90s.
In the year 2015, Sting has no reason to be wrestling.
Godamn Finn Balor, you're 50 and you can't take "fancy new moves". You shouldn't be wrestling!

Different scenario. Finn went into a guardrail, so that was his own fault. Not a safe bump to take at any age.
Look man, I know you like the classic wrestling the best, why so even discuss current wrestling?? You will always love guys from 20 - 30 years ago compared to the talent of today. So why even talk about today's talent??

Seth is the best total package star on the roster by a mile. He has been since the second he came up with the Shield, and he's more polished now than ever before. I guess I didn't expect his internet street credit to last forever, but he was a star in Ring of Honor at a time when guys like Nigel, A Double, Bryan, Hero and Davey were on top of that company. He watched WrestleKingdom 11 and came right out and said he hoped Kenny Omega was in the Royal Rumble, a video which WWE removed. He incorporated a Rain Maker/V-Trigger hybrid into his everynight move set. Oh, and when he's not in the ring for WWE, he's training at his school teaching future generations of pro wrestlers. Rollins is more plugged into wrestling than 95% of the guys in the world right now. Will Ospreay is cool and all but that entire situation was a work. Battle lines are being drawn because fans are inherently tribal, and the boys are going to take advantage of that mentality. Triple H is Seth's real life mentor. He's been in WWE for 9 years. WWE is his home. He's been given MITB, the Royal Rumble, he's a 4 time World Champion and he's still only 33 years old. I'd be sticking up for my company, too. Trust me when I say I'm on the AEW bandwagon, but there is a big difference between the AEW schedule, or even the Joey Ryan schedule, and what Vince asks his performers to do night-in, and night-out. Especially in Seth's situation where he's a figure head for the corporate entity.
Seth is exactly who I would have built my company around had he shown up at my door in 2010. He's a first round draft pick that has given WWE more than they could have ever expected. He deserves every bit of where he's at right now. He's going to turn heel, just like Bryan, and everyone on the internet will be allowed to love him again. "Triple H is Seth's real-life mentor"... "He's been given MITB, the Royal Rumble, he's a 4 time world champ" - not to mention three-time dual champion. Key words, "he's been given". Like his stable-mate Reigns, he's been handed practically everything - he didn't need to scratch and claw his way to the top spot like Punk did, like Bryan did... because his pal Paul cleared the path for him. He's had no obstacles on the main roster, because he's had HHH in his corner from day one. "Triple H is Seth's real-life mentor" - those words say everything about how Rollins got to the position he's in.

I like him. Seth and Becky are two of my favorites right now. But the last few months have hurt both of them. I'm not as interested in them as I was. The two and a half month Corbin feud was uninteresting and kinda made Seth dead in the water. And him and Becky have no onscreen chemistry, and forcing them together in that angle just made me not care about either of them. Going to just take a while to recover from that.

Why do people hate Seth Rollins? Many, Many reasons.....
He's a natural heel that they're trying to make "be a babyface" and the crowd isn't buying it. Did you ever watch the episode of "Swerv'd" on the WWE Network, where the security guy pretends to not recognize Seth Rollins & denies him access to the building? Watch Seth's reaction..... guess what folks - that's not scripted OR a promo - that's a real a-hole berating a security guy with "DON'T YOU KNOW WHO I AM?" type of stuff...... his recent tweets attacking people like Will Ospreay just back that theory up - the guy's a real-life prick.
Then he went & sent "private-personal" pics around to somebody who wasn't his significant other.... & ticked her off enough to share them on the internet for the world to see just to get back at him..... hey, that's his "private" business - but another reason I don't really feel like cheering for him......
Then let's look at the injuries...... majorly F'd up the face of John Cena - who is on the brink of a huge career making movies with his good looks......... next up he ended the career of STING...... and nearly crippled Finn Balor. Finally - he messed up his own leg & was out for a while...... I've been saying for a while that Rollins is a careless worker. Goldberg constantly gets crapped on for ending the career of Bret Hart - so why do some people give Rollins a pass on ending Sting's career?
And his promos? Do youself a favor..... go back & watch some of the great promos by Ric Flair..... The Rock...... "Stone Cold" Steve Austin...... Mick Foley......... Paul Heyman.........Bobby Heenan....... hell even Hulk Hogan........ now watch a Rollins promo. The quality just isn't there. Can't remember one single line from one single Seth Rollins promo.......
I could accept him as the cowardly heel..... I cannot buy this guy as the TOP FACE of the TOP PROMOTION in the entire world.
I just don't enjoy his work - never have, never will.....

It’s been a very long time since I got on here.
Back in my days, we used to say we wanted great wrestlers to get a shot. Now I read stuff like “I don’t care how good he is”.
Times have changed...

Hate is a strong word but I'm not a fan.
I don't think his promo skills are great, he can be an idiot on Twitter, I HATED the pairing of Rollins and Becky (GIRLFRIEND! BOYFRIEND!) and I just don't think he's cool.
OK - so you don't have to be cool to be a great wrestler or champion - but he's nowhere near as cool as he/WWE thinks. He's had an amazing career so far though so good on him.

I could accept him as the cowardly heel..... I cannot buy this guy as the TOP FACE of the TOP PROMOTION in the entire world. I just don't enjoy his work - never have, never will..... Seth is not a careless worker. These guys wrestle 100s of matches a year. Mistakes are bound to happen. His knee to Cena was an accident that many people have done to others in the past. Kurt Angle broke Bob Holly’s arm with a moonsault. Is he a careless worked? And there’s a lot of layers when it comes to Sting. First off he probably shouldn’t have been wrestling anymore. Second, there are agents that go thru the match and they approved these buckle bombs for some reason. And three, Sting has even taken blue that he didn’t tuck in his chin properly. I am not saying you have to like the guy but injuries don’t automatically make you careless. Injuries happen all the time. To answer the main question of this thread, the wrestling community has become very fickle. They flip flop on people all the time. They love an indie guy when they think they’re a hidden secret and they are the only ones that discovered them. Once that talent is actually successful then they’re supposedly crap. AEW is cool to people because it’s new. People will hate that soon too. It’s already happened to NXT. The turn happens quick. It’s a lot of work to keep up with these people nowadays.

I think it has more to do with the fact that the fans are fickle. They will love you one minute and the second you're successful they will turn on you. Case in point Daniel Bryan.
