The arms aren’t a problem because they just dropped the joint from below the shoulder to into the elbow. You get the same poses out of them as you do with the Elites. It’s just now the elbows do both bend and rotate. The problem with the basics now is the loss of ankle articulation. Which I didn’t think I would mind because I just display them on shelves, but it turns out I really hate the loss of ankle movement. I agree with you on the ankles but SEVERELY disagree with you on the arms. Yes, you still TECHNICALLY have the same articulation but the aesthetic is completely wrong.

Hey don't crap on my childhood, TTL was awesome when they had the real scan lmao
I don't really buy basics but when I do it's only for a head scan to replace the elite head. Basic series 100 though is an instant buy regardless of the limited articulation.

Yeah cause the TTL line had no moving arms, head scans looked terrible, & most figures were out of scale. Yeah much better then the basic line with elbow bend, face scans that actually look like the wrestler. Wrong. The Raven TTL from 2001 > every new figure. That headscan was tremendous and holds up. There was also a Billy Gunn that looked more like Nicole Bass.

Ttls were brutal, hey. I got rock in track suit n mankind from the first set. When i opened them i was like wtf. It led to me stopping collecting until cs. I think the only one i picked up was rikishi just because he was amazing.

I dont mind the "new" basics at all. I definitely dont hate them like i thought I would. The loss of the arm swivel makes figs with tatoos look perfect. they dont have to be broken up on two pieces and have half the tattoo swivel away from the other half. I used to super glue ankle joints on the old RA Jakks figs cause there were so many that were so loose they would not stand up on their own so the loss of the mattel ankle movement does not bother me cause im used to it. Also guys with really cool looking kickpad deco looks way better with the boots being one piece too.
This is all just my opinion of corse

Basics now, are just a waste of plastic.

Yeah cause the TTL line had no moving arms, head scans looked terrible, & most figures were out of scale. Yeah much better then the basic line with elbow bend, face scans that actually look like the wrestler. The first couple series of TTL had terrible scans for sure, but once they started using real scan they were brilliant for the most part. But I'm a big fan of the TTL figures on the whole. Great likenesses and playability.

The new basic Warrior still have ankle articulation. Kind of reminds me if when the first basic Sheik came out and he has elite articulation on the ankle. Mattel didn't waste any money on new tooling. I have a love hate for basics, I say I don't want anymore, but I am afraid that they will never release some people in elite form.

I think the arms in a visual sense looks better on a basic. even the torso looks better on a basic without the cuts for the ab crunch. My problem with basics is this... WHY WHY WHY cant we get a V cut for the where the legs attach to the trunks!?!?! I remember in the JAKKS days getting mat hardy and tommy dreamer and they had the same pants which had a V cut and.........that articulation was perfect!!! you could do powerbombs body slams DVD ers I mean its not an extra joint it cant be more money its just a basic figure that can SIT DOWN fully and bend over fully.

If basics had the elite leg articulation at the hips, I’d buy them for my collection. I actually like the basic arms better other than not being able to swap them out for fix ups. Just give me basic packaging for elites instead of the bulky, oversized boxes for a couple bucks cheaper and I’d really be happy.

Everything about the new basics are terrible just the overall look of them with the changes to the arms, legs, and ankles scream dollar store toys. It was extremely disappointing they didn’t continue to make them how they’ve made them from the start. I stopped an entire collection that began January 1st 2010 because these new basics looks so bad next to my old ones. It’s a shame I had such a passion for my basic collection but it’s gone with the new trash basics.

I've stopped buying the basics since the change, which is a shame because there have been so many great attires in the basic line.

Maybe they should bump up the price to 10.99 or 11.99 at stores to get more articulation on the basic figures

I don’t get why people are still complaining about the arm articulation. It’s more realistic, moves better and was a cost cutting.

The Evolution era Flair pisses me off no end with that loss...He's tricky to stand and looks kinda awkward.

We have basics and Elites. Anything being displayed goes on a stand anyway, so articulation on basics is not a problem over here.
