I have the Road Warriors book so I didn’t really learn anything new. I can’t wait for the Owen episode.

That Owen episode was very sad - and interesting - all at the same time.
I can totally understand why Martha (and even Oje) not wanting Owen in the WWE Hall of Fame. I always understood it but it's great that they gave an explanation so maybe now everyone can understand it.
The home movies were sweet to see too. I am glad Martha allowed Owen's fans to see that. I think it was her gift back to us. I appreciate that.

Vince reminded me of how Donald Trump is today when dodging that reporter’s good question.
I don’t care if Owen never gets inducted to that meaningless hall of fame and Martha herself said how stupid it was recently.

Judging What Martha said, there isn't going to be any Owen figures

Judging What Martha said, there isn't going to be any Owen figures Yup, and both their kids want nothing to do with the WWE or the wrestling business as well. I cant blame them.

That Owen episode was hard for me to watch. He was one of my favorites growing up.
I think I've still got a tape from the live Over the Edge PPV combined with Raw is Owen from the next night.
I honestly don't blame Martha or her kids wanting nothing to do with wrestling one bit.

Yeah this one was tough to watch .A legit down to earth just great human being taken so young like that over an unnecessary stunt.Hard to believe it's been 21 years. We miss ya Owen.
In closing all I gotta say is....Long live The King of Harts!

Ill always understand Martha's feelings but Ill never agree with it. Owen was a husband, dad, son & brother and those all come first...but he still meant a lot to a lot of other people. We may be seen as just "simple fans" but Ive cried over wrestling only twice in my entire life and the first time was over Owen's death.
Figures are nice, shirts are nice etc etc....but it goes far beyond merchandise. People can say "Oh the HOF doesnt mean anything" or "its not even real" but when you see those broken down old men & women, that gave their lives & bodies for us...standing on a stage in excitement, proud, or even in tears....You know that that means as much to them as anything else. Even if Martha/Oje/Athena dont want to be involved, for the rest of his family like Bret, Nattie, Kidd and wrestlers he influenced as well as the many and many friends and his "brothers" he had in the business. It would be nice if they could just let everyone show their appreciation to the life & legacy of Owen Hart.

Don't blame Martha or her children for their thoughts on WWE and wrestling as a whole. Owen should've never been up there to begin with. That was an extremely, extremely tough episode to get through, man. .

This was a hard episode to get through and I almost teared up. I’ve understood for years why Martha doesn’t want the WWE to profit off of Owen’s likeness .He should have never been up their to begin with. The fact they kept the PPV going made it seem like Owen meant nothing, and McMhaon counter-suing her was the icing on the cake.
As a fan I’d love to have a figure of Owen to commemorate him, but the pain his family still goes through to this day far outweighs my needs. I’m glad they’ve honored his name with their foundation but you can tell the pain is still real for all of them.

I think the Owen episode should have been two hours. If the premiere is that long why not the finale?

I remember a post a while back where someone said they couldnt wait for Martha to die because they hoped that his kids would let the WWE make money off of Owen. Some people are pathetic and ed in the head.

That was a real one. Lots to process. I was 10 years old when it happened. I didn't order the PPV's ($$) but I remember being on a wrestling site at the time reading live updates hearing that Owen fell. I couldn't believe they went on with the show. I was only 10, and just learning what a 'work' was, so a part of me was really holding out that it was all an elaborate stunt. I mean, this was only a couple of months after they did the Bossman hanging thing, so it really didn't seem out of the realm of possibilities to a 10 year old.
Hearing his kids talk was tough. For context, my dad passed when I was very young (5 months). He died in a railway accident. The part of me that had to eventually come to terms with my own dad's passing (Obviously a different scenario since I was so young) wonders if the extra despise for the wrestling industry isn't still showing that they haven't really healed. I mean, to some extent, you never totally heal, but it still feels fresh when I hear them talk. I totally get why they wouldn't want anything to do with the wrestling industry, I could never work in a railyard. However, the way they speak about the industry as a whole, instead of just the parts Owen was involved in, makes me feel like they are still having trouble coping with it, and that's heartbreaking. By the same token, the things that happened to Owen (the way he was treated after Bret left, the unsafe stunt, the travel, the lifestyle, etc, etc) are so representative of everything that's historically been wrong with wrestling, that I totally get how they could despise the industry as a whole, and I can't really blame them. He was never around as much as he would have wanted because of wrestling, and in the end it took his life. Very complex situation for them to process, can't have been easy filming.
Regarding the hall of fame, I think the argument to him being in the hall of fame is the exact reason Martha & co. wouldn't want it. Wrestling took absolutely everything from them, and Owen didn't want wrestling to be his legacy, it was all about his family. Putting him in the hall of fame, no matter how much he meant to me or any other fan, takes away from what he would have wanted his legacy to be. His foundation is exactly what his legacy should be. If we really value him that much as a wrestler, we can respect his vision for his own life, and support his foundation instead. I trust his wife and kids that it would mean far more to him than any hall of fame ever would have anyways.
Edit: I was lucky enough to meet Owen. I had an aunt that lived in Vancouver and flew my mom and I out every year to visit. Met Owen along with Mick and Ahmad Johnson (lol) before a live show. (At the old Virgin Records on Robson for any canucks). I had met Bret twice before when he came to Saskatoon where I live, as well as a few others, but I remember Owen being the nicest wrestler I had ever met. I still have the VHS case he signed (it was the UK One Night Only show).

I was 18 and watching this when it happened. I thought it was stupid back then that they would be having Owen come down from the roof. The character didn't need it. He didn't need to be the Blue Blazer period, but the character didn't need the entrance. Since I've gotten older I've more wondered why Owen agreed to do it? If he was uncomfortable with the entrance, he shouldn't have been up there. He shouldn't have allowed himself to pushed into a position he didn't feel good about.
Owen was a company guy in a company that didn't give a poop about him. Bret was more known to be selfish/outspoken. If Owen had more of those qualities history wouldn't have gone down the way it did.
Jim Ross making the announcement still turns my stomach to this day. It was such an unbelievable moment. It's wrestling. It can't be real, but when you hear Jim Ross......... You knew it was.
Of everything, every story I've ever read or heard of Vince McMahon being sub-human, continuing the show was the most repulsive thing I think he's ever done. Having Owen's friends come out and wrestle in a ring where his fresh blood is still staining into the mat is unfathomable. Cancel the rest of the show and refund everyone's $$$ you money hungry scumbag. But no. They kept telling us, "Owen would want the show to go on." Bullshart.

It's nice to see that Owen Hart's children have grown up to be seemingly well adjusted adults, that said, the fact that Vince McMahon has lived to be 74 basically disproves the existence of karma. The number of people he has directly or indirectly sent to their early graves is mind boggling. I still can't believe that the PPV wasn't stopped with Owen's blood still there and the broken boards in the ring. That's grotesque. KC police is absolutely worthless for not stepping in and sealing off what was an active crime scene.

I'm glad this series did other stuff or at least looked at it in a different way. Even the Benoit episode was about the effects of the family and Eddie's death rather just about the murder.
Glad to hear stories I didn't know exist like UWF and even what happened to the Road Warriors.
I hope Season 3 is great

I don’t understand how the people in charge of the stunt didn’t do any prison time. They had an obligation for safety and they failed.

Bill Cosby is in his 80s and in jail, so there's always hope Vince's final days are numbered by facing the consequences of his actions not just in Owen's death but in the Snuka coverup and many of his other horrible actions. Right now he still has a stranglehold on wrestling and wrestlers but at some point the house of cards will fall. If the "Me Too" movement has shown no one is untouchable not even "America's Dad" and Vince certainly isn't anywhere near Cosby popularity or fame. If anything, Vince is the "Devil's Dad" and at some point he will pay.
