im glad to see some transparency on this board Action Figure Attack , thanks for at least taking some time to come on here and answer some questions and make some clarifications..i know it can be a rough view sometimes here but we are all here to make the line better and for Mattel to keep making great figures. I think theres a market for the Flashback line...HOC and FB did both well. I thought they ended those way too early. and the result was no one getting FB 3 and all were excellent figures. |

Do you know when we could expect to start seeing Ohno in stores? I seen someone with him and heard he’s expected to start popping up later this month. Can you possibly comment on this please? Should be before the end of the year. His wave is in our Warehouse here in the US and ready to ship to Target’s Distribution Center when they’re ready for it. Sorry I can’t narrow it down any further. |

Hey Action Figure Attack, I was going to ask about the connection between Topps trading cards and legends signed to merchandise deals as well. In 2017 & 2018 they released an all-legends set, both sets featured a card of Haku- does this mean he is signed to a WWE legends deal or is that some other side deal with Topps?! Nope. No access to Haku for us at the moment. One piece of merch does not mean it’s an all encompassing deal which includes figures. It looks like that was some sort of one-off type deal because they have not released any other cards of Haku. He also appeared in the WWE video game (2k16 I think), another one off as he was only in one edition while others like Beefcake & Valentine were included in more than 1 edition of the game.

We are currently unable to sign deals directly with talent. WWE now handles their own Legends program. It’s evolved a lot since the Classic Superstar days and even the old Legends line. At the end of the day, WWE is the IP owner and we abide by their wishes. Valentine is not currently slotted as a Collector’s Edition fig...I can say that much. I just wanted to chime in here and thank you for the clarification on signing deals directly with talent not under a Legends deal. That is a question I've seen asked quite a bit but never answered (to my knowledge anyway). And that's great to hear that Valentine will not be a "Collector's Edition" figure. I'm really hoping that going forward there will be more First Time in the Line Flashbacks released that aren't relegated to one per case store exclusives. This is definitely something that hasn't been addressed previously. While it's not the answer that some of us hoped for, Mattel has done a lot with what they've been given to work with. Maybe one of the other companies designing Elite scaled figures under other licenses can look into signing some of the folks who will likely never end up under a WWE deal. A guy can dream, right? |

Yeah, no, I remember reading that as well, but it seems there had been some changes to some lineups, so I'm hoping those two stay where they were. I hope Chyna isn't a store exclusive just to save us all the headache of people freaking out. If knickers have been twisted over finding Dunne, Liv, Sonya, Backlund, Sherri, et al, I can wait forever rather than have to comb through the missives about how Mattel is killing the line by putting Chyna out as an exclusive. |

Action Figure Attack,
A couple more questions for you, if I may then I will leave you be as I don't want to tick off the overlords here who think I am going to make you angry and cause you to leave.
Regarding attire choices, does MDT have the freedom to select whatever attire they want for legends figures or does WWE dictate what you can and cannot make?! For example, the upcoming Rick Rude figure features yet another attire from his WWF run. Mattel have released 3 Rude figures and all of them are attires from his WWF run- will WWE not allow you to release a figure of him from his WCW run?!
Also, which costs more- a figure with a molded attire or a figure with a cloth accessory?!

Hurricane is more important than Gorilla Monsoon fight me flashback collectors Seriously though, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand why he’s in the main set of 6 and Gorilla isn’t I'm personally a bigger Monsoon fan than Hurricane but if you compare an 80s announcer to a gimmick that's tailor made for an action figure, Hurricane's going to be a bigger allure to kids than Gorilla even if they've never heard of him.
Then again I want both so my point is a little moot but the fact remains.
