What do you mean by 'tool' and why does it take so long to make a tiny piece of plastic?! Also, when you say later, does that mean it will be included in some random figure that we will have to buy just to get the damn headset?!
A steel tool is what the figure parts are molded in. Creation of the tool takes time. Gorilla was existing tooling (mold) from the Survivor Series 2-Pack so we were able to easily move him forward into Blassie’s spot since he needed a little extra time. We’re talking about factories here that have tons of items in the pipeline and have to schedule things precisely. They’re not just waiting around for whatever we throw at them last minute. Make sense? And by later, yes of course the headset will be included with a different figure. Hopefully you’re interested in whoever that winds up being. Would a Jesse Ventura or Lord Alfred Hayes (to go with the Elite 70 Vince) be possible? Are they signed to WWE deals?

Action Figure Attack this is a question that’s never really been addressed... is there any reason why some particular molds aren’t reused often? The legends 1 LOD boots come into place. They work well for Billy Gunn and Shawn Michaels, but have not been reused. Same with a laceless tall boot for guys like Kane and the Undertaker? Also, why haven’t we gotten a WCW ponytail lex Luger/jeans DDP/WCW Bret Hart?

Regarding Lord Alfred, I honestly don’t see them signing him to a merch deal. As much as I’d love a fig of him, we’re talking very very limited appeal and opportunity with him.

Action Figure Attack,
A couple more questions for you, if I may then I will leave you be as I don't want to tick off the overlords here who think I am going to make you angry and cause you to leave. Regarding attire choices, does MDT have the freedom to select whatever attire they want for legends figures or does WWE dictate what you can and cannot make?! For example, the upcoming Rick Rude figure features yet another attire from his WWF run. Mattel have released 3 Rude figures and all of them are attires from his WWF run- will WWE not allow you to release a figure of him from his WCW run?!
Also, which costs more- a figure with a molded attire or a figure with a cloth accessory?! Thanks.
Bill, Rob and I decide looks for Elites and Ultimates. WWE has to approve. If they don’t approve they may recommend an alternative look. I’m not aware of any reasons we couldn’t try a WCW Rude. I do think the big haired Rude was most iconic so happy he’s coming next. Maybe we’ll do a WCW look down the road.

Any chance of revisiting some of the early Legends line like King Kong Bundy, Texas Tornado, Kevin Von Erich, etc? 2nd hand availability is getting slimmer and slimmer!

Should be before the end of the year. His wave is in our Warehouse here in the US and ready to ship to Target’s Distribution Center when they’re ready for it. Sorry I can’t narrow it down any further. When are we going to see the King Harley Race repeat in the line? Can’t say when but we’re trying to make it happen.

No reason for WCW Lex or Bret other than we just have to gotten to them yet. They’re doable.

Action Figure Attack, thank you for coming around and answering questions for us. We tend to criticize Mattel a lot but don't say thanks enough.

Action Figure Attack Do you have any idea how soon we are likely to see another Johnny Gargano elite (especially another one of his many TakeOver attires)? Would it be feasible to make him the chase variant in the main elite line, that way we could get 2 at once? Thanks.đź‘Ť

2 in 1 suited DX/nWo Rude needs to be next. From the time he was on Nitro and Raw on the same night? I’d be happy with that. They did 3 heads with Nia. I’m sure they could do 3 heads for a suited fig.

this thread just became very very cool. Action Figure Attack this is very classy of you to take the time out to answer these questions. No official Q&A needed. Great insights into the process for all of us! Thanks!

To those concerned over “lack of Legends” there are currently 18 figs we’ve given sneak peaks of without announced slots. Out of those 18, 8 are Legends!! C’mon!! This is pretty damn good people. Ok man that's great and every thing, but if most of these are "Chase" figures it does everyone a disservice. So how about mattel ends the Chase exclusive experiment so everyone has a fair chance to buy wwe figures. The only people really benefiting from this are scalpers selling them at a 600-700% markup.

We’re so close to having a completed DX. Something we previously never thought was possible. Once Chyna is released we only need Rude. C’mon Mattel. Let’s make it happen.
