In my areas deadstock isn’t the issue, it’s the incorrect inventory in the system preventing more from being ordered. The large majority of Walmart’s say 6+ with nothing ever on the pegs, and most Targets are stuck anywhere between 4-7 with nothing out. Noticed a few Walmart’s in recent weeks actually have their stock reset to 0, so I’m not sure if that’s something that they’re being alert about, or just these particular stores got it corrected on their own.

When you look at it ever since the demise of Toys "R" Us and the disappearance of toy stores Walmart and Target have to do with whatever toys they can get rid of in order to make the new toys come in. Take for instance besides WWE figures a lot of people buy stuff like Barbie dolls and Hot Wheels cars and when people try to grab the last WWE figure or Hot Wheels car or Barbie doll on clearance they usually wait for the toys to go on sale at the last minute. But with new movies and cartoons come out people try to get the movie or cartoon toys first before they become scarce to find. Take for instance with Disney/Pixar's new movie Onward making it's debut in theaters yesterday people are buying lots of Onward toys because they know that they will be rare to find and even before Onward was released in theaters some Onward toys were scarce to find. The same thing happened with Frozen II and Frozen II toys are still are huge sellers and were hot Christmas toys. And now that Toys "R" Us is no longer in business the stores need to compete with other places and become toy king again Doctorwhofan
