i liked this rumble alot. it was gettin close to my stop watching wrestling after wrestlemania in 03. the rumble had lots of big names and was very well done with lots of cool/fun spots/angles. loved they brought back perfect, val venis, & goldust for this one. only thing i hated was HHH getting the win. i knew he would tho cause he was coming back from long layoff/surgery. imagine if he wasnt due back til mania, we woulda got someone else as the winner. prob kurt angle. was hopin for mr perfect to win it big time! both flair/vince & rock/jericho matches were kick ass as well. Fun Rumble I thought. Taker destroying Maven was entertaining. I marked out for Perfect's return. It was so great to hear that theme song again on a WWF PPV.
Flair/Vince was a decent brawl. Vince was a great heel during these days. Him mocking Flair on Raw in MSG with the wig and robe just added to it.
Jericho/Rock was a good World Title match.
I also liked the brief run of Spike/Taz as tag champs during this time.

It was a well done Rumble, but predictable. IMO, HHH coming back at MSG a few weeks earlier kicked off the Ruthless Aggression Era.

I loved seeing Mr. Perfect come out also. It seemed like there might be some big things for him afterwards but I think time just passed him by plus the demons may have had a hold on him. Shortly after the rumble he was basically doing Heat and I think only made the pre show on that WrestleMania. Haku was another one a year earlier in that it seemed big things would happen but he didn't make it much longer than WrestleMania.

The Rumble match was3.75. Pretty good. Too bad Perfect vs Angle didn't happen at 'Mania X8

Compared to other Rumbles this one felt like it was going on forever. Truthfully it didn't really feel like a Rumble, just a series of matches going on.

Good Rumble. Like everyone else I liked the return of Perfect (wish he would have won), I also liked the Austin/HHH/Hurricane moment too. Like keegandimitrijevic01, I wish we could have gotten an Angle/Perfect match as well.

I loved that Triple H won the Rumble and I loved Mr Perfect showing up. But my favorite part of the rumble was the interaction of Hurricane, Austin and Triple H. That was priceless. lol

Very predictable Rumble...Its one I'm really not fond of at all. HHHs win facilitated the murder of Jericho's title reign and status as main eventer in cold blood by HHH & Steph. To this day I still find it horrific. Absolute abuse of power by them in the worst way imaginable turning the World title feud into a program between them with Jericho as the bystander.
When Austin got eliminated the crowd became deflated...he was the favourite to win it on the night. It was like RR89 with Hogan...they didn't give a crapwhen He was gone.
Enjoyed Hennig's return & loved Flair vs Vince in fairness.

I hated this Rumble so much!
The entire match felt like little matches happening and nobody had any distance or there was never a time where a bunch of guys were in the ring at one time until the end, and it was all the main event guys who were feuding with each other at the time plus Mr. Perfect.
I would pick 2001 and 2003 Rumble matches as way better ones than the 2002 one.

At least a face HHH winning was different and the he was super over as well. Also Jericho wouldn't have come off any better had Austin won. Austin has always humiliated his rivals during feuds so Jericho may have ended up looking worse than he did with HHH and Steph.

HHH wasn't super over either....the reactions for him cooled substantially & quickly. Lots of folks look at this period through strange goggles because of the msg reaction.

Too predictable that HHH would win and beat Jericho at WM 18, I was sick of HHH by this point, and that was with him being out for 8 months. Fun PPV overall though. Angle had so much heat

I actually really like this Rumble and it's one of my favorites.
I liked the angle with Undertaker and the Hardys and then how Maven got involved for the elimination. Then it switches gears with Austin and Triple H taking over. The spot with Hurricane trying to chokeslam both guys was fun, and Mr Perfect was a great surprise return. Not to mention the final four of Austin, Angle, Mr Perfect and Triple H was great.
