Cody was only a main eventer because he just left WWE and still was the flavor of the month. After a couple of months he would be right back to the midcard. As of right now, MJF, and Adam Page are still mid-carders at best. I like MJF, I think his gimmick is amazing and his promo skills are really good. However, in the ring? He still needs to work on it. In the next 5 five years he'll become a main event guy, just not right now. Give the kid time to grow. Adam Page? I don't see it. Sorry. Again, maybe in the next couple of years he can work on everything and then I'll see what I think. Luchasaurus??? Come on. lol. Cody was a main event guy for multiple years but ok... He left WWE in 2016 and was still a main event guy all the way through the creation of AEW. He won the NWA championship at All In, was RoH champion and still in the RoH title scene up until his departure from that company. New Japan he wasn't quite a top guy, but to be fair basically no one WWE has could hang as a top guy there that wasn't already a top guy there or in RoH. True WWE developed guys aren't anywhere near the New Japan level either. Also, did you seriously say everyone but Moxley and Jericho are mid carders at best? I think Kenny Omega would like to have a word with you... Kenny Omega can say whatever the hell he wants to say to me. lol But the truth is, Kenny is only where he is at because of his friends that run the company. Oh yeah, blah blah blah Japan. Kenny Omega is the biggest joke there is in wrestling. And trust me, I could not care less about the WWE developmental workers as well. I see none of them as the top guy anywhere besides Adam Cole and possibly Keith Lee. You people are always offended by everything.

Since ol' Rowdy wants to troll, here's the truth of the matter. When ANYONE in WWE packs 11,263 without the WWE name on the marquee, like Cody (and the Bucks) have.. then we can resume this argument. Until then, Cody is THE top draw in the US that's NOT an entire cast of performers in a poorly produced wrestling parody all promoted by a multi-billion dollar machine. Cody earned the right to be a Main Eventer in AEW, regardless of who is booking it. "Insert Jeff Jarrett Catchphrase" (use your imagination) Done!Troll? My opinion. Simple as that.

Opinions are just that.. the (not always correct, or logical) thoughts of a single person. Whereas..

I guess to rowdy1971, if you’re not a top star in wwe you don’t matter. I hate that line of thinking. If that was the case, WWE would have not had any interest in Samoa Joe and AJ Styles. Supposedly they also offered the Bucks and Omega big money to join before AEW launched. Not a big fan of the Bucks and Omega, but they do have lots of fans and are over. Two of the reasons AEW beats NXT almost every week in viewership.

BUT I guess I have to agree with everything everyone else says. And yep, AEW is really doing great.....against a developmental company.

It's a main brand when it does well, developmental when it misses. British when they win, Scottish when they lose 😂

I'm only going to say that talent runs in the Rhodes family.

I see no reason he cant be the top guy for the company but at the same time people have to understand that AEW still isnt on the level of WWE and is still looked at as "minor leagues". AEW hasnt done anything that TNA/Impact didnt already do. That's not saying they cant or wont but to get to that next level AEW needs "a name"...I know people think guys like Jericho & Ambrose/Moxley are it but they arent. Jericho is a great wrestler, hall of famer but he's spent the majority of his career as a mid card/upper mid card talent and when he did get to the "main title" with the exception of once, it was always the "2nd tier" title.
WCW is a perfect example. WCW had amazing talent and some big name guys. But WCW was always considered a step down from WWF...that was until Hulk Hogan showed up. That launched WCW right up there with WWF. AEW needs that "NAME" like John Cena, Brock Lesnar or The Rock to propel them to the next level. Until then, they're always going to be a step behind.
Also lets not act like Cody just pulled a bunch of backyard wrestlers together for All-In and filled an arena. He chose top names from 8 different wrestling companies, most of which have had years of experience and put on a show. He essentially copied the Verne Gagne/Super Clash script and took the best of all non WWE/F guys and put them on one card.

If he weren't EVP I don't think anyone would see him as top guy. But he "lead" Bullet Club then founded AEW so he sort of made himself what he is. He's great on the mic but is just missing that it factor. Plus, he'll always be Dusty's son and Dustin's brother. I don't see anyone as top guy in AEW and I like it that way.

AEW can do like WCW did and create their own mega stars. These guys got big without the wwe machine- Sting, DDP, Booker T, and Goldberg.
