So with all this talk about Michael Keaton possibly coming back as Batman it got me thinking about who the best batman really is. For me Keaton was the best all around Bruce Wayne/Batman. I loved the Dark Knight trilogy and i think that Christian Bale was one of the best Batmans but I dont think hes a great Bruce Wayne. On the other hand i like George Clooney as Bruce Wayne but not as much as Batman. So what does everyone else think about who the best Batman is?

Batman is such a flexible character that he can be many different things; he may be the most maluable character in literary history frankly. Everyone has their own vision of Batman; some like a ferocious one, some like a dark one, some want him based in reality whilst others want as fantastic a tone as possible!
For me Affleck was my Batman, he really nailed that older more established Batman who was teetering on the verge.
Keaton was great too and Kilmer would be my number 3.

A lot of it's nostalgia but when I think of Batman I think of the animated series, so chalk me down for Kevin Conroy as well.

Still Keaton....I understand why fans at first while the movie was being released might have been outraged by him being cast. But he really brought a genuine everyday type of guy to the role. Plus he played the troubled part too. Christian Bale annoyed me with his asthma sounding portrayal. He did nothing for me in that role. Bane was brilliant as a role in my mind. That voice, gotta love it lol. Heath was good, but I thought my original idea of what the movie might show him as was a little off. I thought originally in the beginning he would look freshly painted like the classic joker would be, but as the film went on and he became more bizarre and crazy that he never bothered to retouch himself, so the paint became worn and what we saw. Would have been cool but oh well.

I have to agree with everyone that Kevin Conroy is the best! For me, Batman TAS was my favorite Batman series of all time. But here I was just talking about the live action films. But yes, Kevin Conroy will always be the voice of Batman!
