"This line has been a huge success, so we're ending it." Good ol' Mattel.
That new line could be great if they stick to legends, but I'm sure wave 2 will include Sami Zayn and Baron Corbin.

This line was good while lasted. Seriously I had so much fun collecting these though I may not have gotten all of them, but I got some that I really wanted. Clear blue Faker Cena being my favorite.

They were all sold out when I saw they had them listed. Par for the course but I'll get them eventually. I was disappointed, too, to hear the line is ending. I'm not too shocked, though. I knew it would end by a tenth wave. Wave 8 is a tad weak, but at least we're getting the Superstars line to keep the style going. I just hope they keep the big guns coming in that series. I'll be curious to see if they redo some of the characters we already got with MOTWU. See, I don't think of that line as a continuation at all. It's sad this ended before we got a lot of big names: Asuka, Drew, both Flairs, Orton (how did a Snake Men Viper not get made?!), more Horde World Order...They could've easily gotten to Wave 10. Guess it's time to do some customs. I better buy up those Stephs while they're cheap for more female characters. I don't think it's a continuation, but like I said, it's the same style because it's the same molds. They'll look just like the MOTWU figures without the extra armor. It's the next best thing, and that's coming from a die-hard MOTU/He-Man fan. I would have liked to see a lot more wrestlers, too. I could have collected for another 10 waves, and I think even 5 more waves would have sold. Unfortunately, these niche lines just don't last forever in Mattel's mind. Ending after 8 feels a bit premature, but at least we made it this far.

Especially because as this thread shows they're absolutely viable for customs. And the Remco-style ones might add more to the parts bank for those (and even MOTU Origins, for weapons and things).

That's what I'm hoping for: Origins allowing us to make our own MOTWU figs. I've already tried it with the Lex Luger I made, throwing on an extra armor I had (I still want to try something more fitting of the character). I think if Origins wasn't still going I'd be more upset about this line ending. I just wish it wasn't so expensive to get previous releases to keep making our own customs, and it will only get more expensive.

Yeah, I still need New Day (a little pricey) and Undertaker (...dammit). But a lot of the customs I want to make are female wrestlers and Becky and Steph are still around MSRP, so no complaints there. Io-Lyn on a repainted Steph base is absolutely happening.

Idk if I was more disappointed that they were canceling the line or who was in wave 8. And why is it only 3? Chyna is ehh and the other 2 are repeats. Happy to have Stone cold as a carded figure, but they could have just as easily put Hogan in there. Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, etc. I'm happy with what they are replacing this line with, but damn, I'm so going to miss it. Hopefully wave 7 and 8 will be easy to find. I wonder if Hollywood Hogan and Flair were scheduled for this line, maybe in the next wave, but since the line was cancelled they just repurposed their figures into the first wave of the new WWE Superstars line.

I was always hoping for a MOTU Rick Rude, but he didn't fit with any Masters characters. I think the SuperstarS line will be perfect for him.

I found Stephanie at Walmart but she's missing her weapons. She does come with them & you can see them right? They were also on clearance for $11

I'm just hoping for Shawn, Razor and Diesel. I really don't mind the switch. I love MOTU, but I'm happy to keep buying guys as long as they're in the Origins body style. I'll probably only get Chyna from the last MOTU set. The Andre wave is really strong, and I'm very much excited to get those figures.

I'm much more a modern collector, but the Andre wave is just a fantastic, full-effort wave. Everything in that wave is great. I'm assuming Wave 8 is the result of limited budget for the end of the line but I'm glad they at least got out a She-Ra style figure for additional women's customs.
I'd buy a Superstars Razor in a heartbeat to add with my MOTUs.

I am definitely curious why there's only three in the final wave. Could be budget, like you said, or it could be they canceled one like they occasionally do with other lines. It does seem like they just threw this wave together. Chyna looks pretty cool, but 2 repeats? If they were gonna do that they should've went for another Hogan and Undertaker, in my opinion. I am thankful that they made a final wave. They could have canceled it completely like they did with the retros in 2019. I'm already eager to see more of the Superstars line. The possibilities are endless.

The major pod guys speculated Big Show, using the Andre mold, was the 4th figure in the set and he got pulled. I thought that was a reasonable guess.

I wouldn't be surprised at that. MOTU did originally have two giants, although before they announced that the 8th wave was the final one I thought Khali might be in the Megator slot. He honestly fits that role best.

I don't even think people would've minded that much if he had been basically an hWo Savage redo.

In all seriousness, if they make a matched set of Sami and Kevin figures in this new line, I will gladly buy them.
But only as a matched set.
It would take some of the sting out of never getting my hands on the Retros.

My local Walmarts don't even have pegs/tags for the WWEMOTU figures anymore after the reset. Is anybody else seeing this?
