Saw them today. I was PO'd when I saw them, cause I own them all, but would've picked up a Seth, 2 belts in one pack plus a figure for $10? No brainer. Hoping this is just cause it's Top Picks figures, maybe regular elites will still be $10. FYI the Finn was in black, Seth had the IC & Raw Tag Belts, and AJ was the predominately grey & blue figure.
Couldn't find the thread w/Discount chains finds so I posted here. I mean it's about Mattel product, the distribution, pricing of a Mattel WWE Elite. Too many people took advantage, buying the entire stock of elites for $10, and they realize they're leaving major money on the table and now, well, Big Lots is finding a way to get back at us.

When Dollar General stocked Legends series 5, I bought two complete sets to have them MOC and loose. The issue is when people take the opportunity to buy them all and scalp them online. Yeah, you totally have the right to do that and nobody has any place telling you not to, but collecting is a brotherhood, and scalping is hurting the next guy who would've gotten what they wanted for a good price too. You're essentially robbing them of the same thrill you experienced, almost akin to hitting the jackpot. |

Regular Elite 66 went to $14 per where I am located. They have always been $10 (except for the WM31 Kane and Undertaker, they were $20 back in the day)

I haven't seen an elite in my big lots in a long long time. But I did notice today that they raise basics up to $12 a piece. That's kinda crazy to me.

I bought a Basic there for $12 the other day because I got pandemic'd out of ever finding the Mania basics in stores. IDGAF.

I usually strike out at overstock stores, but recently I found Retrofest Hacksaw at Ollie's for about $10. For a MOC fig I couldn't say no

Yeah I bought a basic WM36 Becky the other day for $12. Didn't even realize it went up, I guess I got them confused w/Walgreens who charge $12.99 for basic figures. No biggie really, it's a lucky day when you find something you've wanted, even at big lots. It wouldn't make me walk away from it.
But yeah, for a "discount"/"Closeouts" store, Basics shouldn't be more than $7.99, I think they should be $6.99. Elites were perfect at $10. But if they bumped them up to $12-13 I'd be ok. But to double price....for figures that are still sitting in Targets throughout Suffolk County, NY is BS.

I can find plenty of basics at Five and Below for $5. Those Big Lots prices are laughable.

Similar thing happened here in the UK at B&M. They used to have elites at £9.99, though it was generally quite a few series behind. Great for catching up on missed figures. But now they're £17.99 and they do still sell just as well. They're much more up to date and get elites that Smyths choose not to stock. It's only £2 less than RRP so I'm happy to pay that.

Honestly, though...if Big Lots wants to start charging MSRP for Elites, I'm all for it. I'd say that probably seven out of ten times, they're getting their hands on stuff that I either missed the boat on or never happened across at retail. If paying retail 6 months to a year down the line is what it takes for me to get something I want, I honestly couldn't care less what the nature of the store is.
If BL got their hands on E71 tomorrow (which were scarce to nonexistent in my immediate area) and wanted $20 for Drew McIntyre (which I've yet to come across), I wouldn't think twice.

Big lots is just doing whatever they can get away with.
If the elites at $20 dont sell I am sure they will mark them down at some point.

I like Big Lots. I don't find many figures there anymore (last figures were when they got in Masters of the Universe Classics years ago), but I always look to see what they have. My only thought on the price increase would be maybe they have to pay more for the stock. And if not, they're really looking to maximize their profits. You don't usually see such a drastic increase in price for the same product.

Sadly, it looks like $20 is the new price for Elites. I went to a different Big Lots, and they had the same Top Picks I mentioned originally, they had a full case there, and they were all price tagged for $20. Such bull, no such thing as casual collecting anymore. They're gonna charge the same as Target & Walmart? FOH
They gotta get some good figures again, then maybe I'll figure out if I want to continue as a customer.

I haven't had seen any elites in my local Big Lots stores in several months. But they have been selling the basics at $12, which makes no sense.

My first reaction to this is,that it must be a mistake since the Taker & Kane Mania elites were $20 a few years ago. But the new mania basics are $12 & then this happened. First off I've been to 5 BL & I've only run into the mania basics once & no elites.
So I see the mania basics again for the second time but this time none were priced. So I figured I play dumb & take it to the register & ask for the price. This happened to me at the same BL a few months ago with the lightning bolts macho man. She looked it up on the computer & told me $5. I figured the same thing would happened again lol. Anyways today she couldn't find it on the computer. So she goes over to the toy section & picks up a basic Alexa bliss. She scans it & it says something ceramic so she wouldn't sell me the mania basics for $10. Finally she calls over the manager & she says the mania basics are $20. She even showed me on the computer where it said wwe wrestlemania basic assortment $20.00.
