It was a good show. My only complaint is that it felt like an extended Dynamite. High quality wrestling, advanced some angles, and it will probably be the end for at least a couple of programs. So that's not a negative, and if anything is a testament to the quality of Dynamite most weeks. Maybe it's my Attitude Era tastes, but I want something different from a PPV. Give me a big debut (obviously not something you can do regularly), or something that really generates a buzz closing the show. MJF/Mox had a creative ending that furthers the story. But it didn't do much as the closing moment of a $50 PPV for me. If you're going to run events less frequently and at a higher cost, I think they really need to dig deep to make sure each event really has that moment that feels special. But saying that the cracks are showing? Not seeing that. They've done an amazing job telling long form stories and building continuity between programs. They (largely) make the most of the roster, and with a second show coming I will continue to argue that they have room to grow the roster, particularly in the singles division. Not everyone needs featured all the time. But nepotism? I'd love to see some examples beyond Luther and maybe Cutler of someone who stands out as not being worthy of their spot. The Bucks worked us indies for more than a decade, Cody was in WWE from nearly that same timeframe, and Kenny worked almost everywhere in Japan. That covers a pretty major chunk of the prominent talent in the world that they'd cross paths with and are probably friendly with. I'd love to hear a list of available workers you think are more deserving of a roster spot than some of the folks on the roster. Luther. Brandi. Cutler. Austin Gunn. QT Marshall. Matt Cardona. Penelope Ford. Sean Spears. Butcher and Blade. Vicki Guerrero. Riho. Emi Sakura. Yuka Sakazaki. Britt Baker. I'm sure there's more, too. I'm sure some of them could've gotten in on their own merit, but be honest, all of these came from an association with a talent inside the company. Common in business, but often leads to lower-quality products. Most of them could be cut without an impact to the product. I'm guessing you have watched wrestling continuously; I took a good 15 years off, because my tastes changed, and probably why I'm so picky. For me to pay attention and follow wrestling, it needs to be great. I feel AEW started strong, and has dwindled over the past year. I actually can relate. I quit wrestling cold turkey in late 2002 and didn't watch again until 2014/15 right as NXT was getting hot. I'd agree on Luther and Cutler, and maybe Gunn (though we he's probably more of a developmental signing). Brandi has been over-used. But I think the others have played their roles well, though some I like (B&B, Penelope) and others I don't care for (Riho, Cardona). But I honestly can't think of many names available who I could say X deserves a job over the folks you listed. Tessa Blanchard, Brandi Lauren before she went to NXT or Chris Bey before he went to Impact. But it's not like there is an this vast talent pool out there and they're picking their friends over more talented workers imo.

I think it’s time for JR to do something else. Some of his commentary last night was awful and he didn’t seem to care to be there at all. Basically called Excalibur stupid and made fun of him in a way for putting over Thunder Rosa i totally missed this one until reading about it just now Jim Ross received criticism on social media for the following line he used during the AEW All Out PPV “Did Anna Jay have a wardrobe malfunction or is that wishful thinking on my part?”

So where’s Matt’s idiot wife crying on twitter about something that didn’t happen in WWE to her husband? Seems pretty quiet, must need new surgery or makeup. Must be nice to sit on your fat ass while your husband makes tons of money... She was on there. Did you not see the tweet she put out? I'm guessing Matt probably contacted her after and told her to cool it, but she was on there.

Re-watched the main event. Far and away the best match on the show. I’d even go as far to say that it was Mox’s beat title defense yet.
MJF is teetering on star status as long as he drops the dopey political gimmick.

Re-watched the tag matches. I promise you this isn’t a hot take for the sake of a hot take or me trying to start an argument, but I think the Young Bucks wrestled better than FTR last night. FTR were better heels and worked over body parts better, but that’s really it. I’ve been very underwhelmed by them so far. They’re nowhere near the team that had one of the greatest matches ever (maybe Gable and Jordan deserve more credit, ESPECIALLY Gable) in NXT. Again, they’re a solid tag team but I think the hype on them was far too high. Am I biased? Definitely. lol I feel like I’m on an island when I see people praise FTR. They’ve been a southern style team more in the last few matches, but my expectations for them are at about 3 stars right now. I mean lets get the first part out of the way, Gable and Jordan always deserve more credit than they get. Doesn't even matter what we're talking about they aren't getting enough credit for it lol. Those two were/are so damn good. Now that I'm done with my plug for them... I don't think the Bucks were better, but I do think the match they had with JE went under the radar, and down the road we're going to look back at it a lot and go "ooooooh, that's why". There was nothing accidental in that match and I think it is a match that's setting up far more than we realize right now. It was a great match, no argument there at all. That said I think FTR did wrestle the better match. I don't think it could have been on the level of the match O/P had with the Bucks, because the story was different. That match was Omega and Page cementing themselves as a great tag team, this match was about their implosion. The big story was FTR wrestling a classic tag team match, and the champs being unable to work together and overcome that, and as a result they spent the match back as two singles wrestlers taking turns, rather than a tag team. Hard for that match to feel as 'special' when the idea is one team blowing up. FTR is just so clean and flawless in the ring, and everything has a purpose to it. It transcends just old school wrestling in the same way the Bucks transcend modern indy wrestling. They both know their styles, and they know them so well they can add so much beneath the surface.

I have no clue how anyone could claim that’s a burial. Not everyone needs to win the title on their first try (Austin didn’t win it until his 3rd). All that matters is Mox made MJF look like a legitimate threat for the title. This ending protected MJF and will keep him hovering around the main event. I’ve seen some even go as far to say AEW is bad now because of “Moxley is burying all the young stars” just ridiculous. He’s helped put Darby and MJF both on the map, imo. It’s funny because Mox is still a “young guy” as well. He’s still in his mid-30s. And you’re right that he put Darby on the map and elevated MJF to another level last night. If anything the ending was great because Mox promised to find another way to beat MJF, yet couldn’t. MJF has a gripe now that Mox had to “cheat” to win. Whether people like it or not Mox is their biggest star and it makes sense for him to hold the title right now. And their booking has been perfect with him and his opponents. Mox isn’t a superman and shows vulnerability. If anything his craftiness in winning matches has not only elevated his stock, but his opponents as well. Outside of Lee and Hager every one of his opponents have come out looking better than they did going in since he won the title.

Not gonna go into my thoughts on the show but one thing is for sure. That doctor should absolutely be fired and not reused in AEW. Anyone watching can see that was a serious head injury.
Reby says Matt is still in the hospital and absolutely has a concussion.

There were chunks of the tag that felt like they were filling time. Like I said earlier, FTR feel like they’re underperforming most of the time.

I love FTR, and feel that while the Bucks provide some high level entertaining tag wrestling, that FTR absolutely owns them and frankly any other team in AEW or currently anywhere in a major western promotion on a psychological level. their crap makes sense and it adds some needed legitimacy to AEW's approach. so we'll hafta agree to disagree on those fellas. FTR are literally Arn and Tully without the charisma and mic ability. They need Tully and they need a top level Ric Flair heel to carry them as part of a faction. FTR won’t draw as a stand alone even with Tully. I know we all talk/joke about some new Four Horsemen stable but they desperately need that.

Reby says Matt is still in the hospital and absolutely has a concussion. This is where it gets difficult. At the end of the day, none of us here (right? Unless I'm mistaken. Not being sarcastic btw) are actually doctors. It's really dangerous for us to play doctor by assuming he did his job wrong. Can other doctors comment on it? Absolutely. Should they be weighing in, perhaps yes they should be. Should we? I'm not so sure. Did he do his job wrong? Possibly, I have no idea, I'm not a doctor. I haven't gone to years of med school to be able to do that job.

I was actually surprised at how well they've handled the mic in the month leading in but that's by today's standards of talkers which is sadly a low bar.

The doctor cleared him to finish the match, but there is ZERO chance enough time passed for Hardy to clear any concussion protocol besides “Hey, you good?”. The only thing that clears the doc is if he didn’t see the bump.

That’s not enough time to clear someone.

I thought All Out was great show. I do have some thoughts
the Matt Hardy incident was really bad and quite shocking. Did the match need to continue, No. The whole throwing Sammy of the scaffolding was unnecessary and looked and felt rushed. I hope Matt is Okay and has a full and quick recovery.
The Battle Royale was fun. i felt so bad for Matt Sydal, the botch killed the excitement a little bit, but i hope he does stick around AEW. The possible match ups he can have will be epic. I was really excited to see Will Hobbs in the match!! I see huge potential in him.
I was expecting MJF to walk out with the AEW title, but now i'm really excited for Moxley vs Archer! That's going to be wicked!!
I'm giving it 8 out of 10.

Good kid with a bright future and a story that writes itself. They kept him deep in the match too, hoping that means they have some real plans for him!
