Just thinking....HBK screwed himself taking off WM13 because Bret wrestled Austin instead & SCSA popularity(which was already building) went through the roof....HBK was WWFs No1 face(at least in Vinces eyes) in Feb 1997... after WM13 Austin was the company's top face character...

been watching 1997 WWF all day...LOL

I mean they wanted Shawn and HHH to face at WM 17. I don't know, honestly it'd be really weird. To see Michaels present throughout the entire AE.

I think he would of taken time off maybe after WM 14. Came back, been in main event program. But his current state and attitude may have led him walking out to WCW. Where he continued to decline. And eventually making some resurgence like he did in our world. I don't know it's good question.
