I think he's great on commentary I'm just watching Dark from last night or whenever it was and his "area code shot" line when Cage hit the 619 made me chuckle. He's quite funny but doesn't try too hard like Lawlor did sometimes.
Just wondering what everyone else's opinion on him is.

i've always loved taz. i loved his ecw run, especially. i enjoyed him in wwe, both in the ring and his insipid commentary. aew's way of using the managers works great for him, as he's a hell of a mouthpiece for cage and starks. also him and excalibur constantly trying to pop each other are some of the highlights of dark for me.

Always been a Taz fan. As a wrestler, then as a commentator. Then he got really bad, but then good at it again.
As a manager, I think he's as great as you can be with the limitations. It's the same problem most AEW managers have, in that they're not physically able to bump.

Taz is just great. I love his quips on commentary and his voice reminds me of watching wrestling years ago. His involvement as a manager is great as well, I really like how he's helped present Starks and Cage.

Super funny. He and ex have great chemistry, and honestly Veda fit in so well with them too

Taz is a great fit in AEW as both a commentator and a manager.
Big fan!

I think he's been fantastic when he's on commentary. I still think him and Cole were JR & King levels of good as a team

I think he's been fantastic when he's on commentary. I still think him and Cole were JR & King levels of good as a team I'm sure it's just nostalgia, as that was when I first started watching, but I agree.

I like Taz. I’d prefer him as a commentator than in a manager role though.

I like Taz. I’d prefer him as a commentator than in a manager role though. I’d be down for Excalibur/Taz/Tony as the main team. Taz is great on commentary. Not really when he’s putting over his guys, but he’s really solid in the booth.

Taz never did know how to bump or sell anything, so I don't expect that from him at this point. I WANT A TAZPLEX THOUGH. I've thought a few times that he would come in during a Cage or Starks match when the ref isn't looking and and hit one. Hasn't happened yet though. He basically looks like the same Pillsbury Doughboy as when he wrestled, so I think he can do it. I don't recall him talking about any serious injuries or anything that would prevent it.
Beyond that he's always confused. When he's managing he's a straight heel. As soon as he's on commentary he starts complementing guys and acting like a good guy. I'd like to see him stick to being a heel whether he's managing or commentating.

I don't like Taz and JR on commentary at the same time. It makes it sound too much like WWE.

I like him, he's silly, he's nutty... gotta-lotta-flavour I can hear Taz describing himself that way. “You know me, Schiavone, I’m silly! I’m kinda nutty, I gotta lotta flavour!” Nothing will ever top Teflon Taz

I like him in AEW. Much better than his TNA run.

Taz is an asset to any roster as a performer. Great commentator, can act the role of a manager, always brings the intensity.
Unfortunately they've written him into a bit of a dead end with his faction. Starks can't get past Darby so what is he going to do? And Cage is running around with this FTW belt nobody really cares about - oh and he had to throw in the towel to protect the machine once too. Really too bad he's saddled with this.

He had to retire due to neck injuries pretty similar to Edge I believe, he was losing power and feeling in one of his arms or both... In this day an age you can clearly come back from that type of injury like Edge and D-Bryan have done but at Taz's age and physically he probably doesn't feel the need to get back into shape and go through all the trauma of rehabbing, he's had a steady income since his retirement from in ring competition, and doesn't have to break a sweat to earn.

I’ll admit his promos are good, but I don’t care to see him anymore. Waste of money to sign him for 5 years.
