I've just been monitoring a thread on FB about this in a group I'm in....& frankly? some of the responses are absolutely astonishing. So I said Id bring it in here where there's some actual knowledge of wrestling.
My own two pence is that Sting had the better career by far. I mean...the Warriors last FULL year wrestling was 1990. He fell out with Vince in August 91...then returned in April 92...only to be canned by Vince in November 92.
Am I missing something? have I been exposed to chemical fumes or have had a blow to the head? How is this even an argument? Also Im more than open to oppposing viewpoints here to help me understand.

Stinger no doubt about it.
World Title runs,US Title runs,Tag Title runs,Battlebowl, King of Cable etc. Plus you add in the fact just overall longevity.
Not discrediting Warrior's big run from 88-91 but at the end of the day Sting wins this in a landslide.

Sting changed his character from colorful, to the dark brooding crow look. Got more longevity, to build the feud with Hogan. Plus he could have decent matches with anyone WCW put at him. Even his WWE match with Triple H was decent. Warrior was all high intensity, not a great wrestler at all though

Sting and its not even close. Warrior was only a fulltime star from 1988-1991. Sting was a major part of the NWA Golden Era, WCW kicking the WWF's ass in the Monday Night War and helped make TNA a hot property for a while. He kind of soiled his legacy with his WWE run, but would still belong in any pro wrestling hall of fame even if he had never set foot in a WWE ring. Meanwhile, the Ultimate Warrior belongs in the WWE Hall of Fame, but he does not belong in a pro wrestling hall of fame.

I would say Sting had a much better, longer career. But it depends on how you measure.
Warrior reached a greater height during his peak. Going over Hogan clean at Mania 6, it gets no bigger than that as a career highlight. But the Stinger had a greater catalogue of big matches, better matches against a wide variety of opponents, spanning a much longer period of time.

Warrior only has one thing over Sting, and that's a clean victory over Hogan, with no shenanigans.

Sting no doubt. I don’t think either man was ever “The Guy” between Flair in WCW and Hogan in WWF, but Sting def had the bigger career spanning as many decades as he did.

Sting had the better wrestling career, no doubt about that.
But I think Warrior had the better career in being well known. My girlfriend wasn't big into wrestling when we started dating back in 2012, but she knew who the Ultimate Warrior was from how popular he was from being a WWF superstar years ago. She had zero clue as to who Sting was.
So I will still say Sting had the better, longer wrestling career. Warrior had the more popular career for breaking into pop culture.

Great topic buddy Sting by a mile had the better career, but I still prefer Ultimate Warrior. From a longevity and match point of view there is no comparison. I though would say Ultimate Warrior is a more iconic character. I am biased because he was my hero as a kid so as cool as I think Sting is, I will always pick Warrior when I have to pick between the two. When you look at how short his run was it is amazing he was able to strike such a strong connection with people all over the world.

Unless you're just looking at who was a bigger household name at their respective peaks, every possible factor I can think of favours Sting. Longer career. Better matches and more of them. I'd have to think that Sting made more money. More respected. Better storylines and more creativity. Though now that I think about it, Sting doesn't have a prestigious award named after him... Besides that, who could possibly look at this picture of two up and comers and imagine that they wouldn't both be world champions in major promotions?

Sting no question about it, but if people are saying Warrior it’s only because he was the WWF champion and some think being in the wwf automatically makes someone better.

Definitely Sting
If it's who had the better WWF career lmao definitely Warrior and we can thank Triple H's ego for that too.

kind of funny in that they both interacted with hulk hogan and triple h in big event matches.
if only sting's encounter with triple h was similar to warrior's.

Sting...and it’s not even close.
Warrior has one, maybe two, memorable moments in his career that fans look back fondly on. Sting has countless.

Sting had the better career, but I think Warrior was more popular overall.
