I have this discussion all the time with my old wrestling buddies. "Who's your Mount Rushmore..." Thought it would be cool to discuss this kind of topic within a particular time period of wrestling since things change so rapidly in the world of wrestling. You have four spots so choose wisely. This is not necessarily who had the best year, but more who you thought was entertaining and deserving as a potential MVP candidate. Bret Hart - Bret wasn't always featured like it, but he was definitely the man in 1993. His feud with Lawler was a bright spot creatively and he was always money in the ring with King of the Ring being his most impressive performance wrestling three amazing matches in one night. Yokozuna - Yokozuna won the 1993 Royal Rumble and despite a small Hogan hiccup at WrestleMania, he owned the main event scene. His weight would become an issue in years to come, but people forget the early days of Yoko when he was quick as a cat and agile for a man his size. Razor Ramon - From World title contender to losing to an unknown jobber, the first half of 1993 was all over the place for Razor. He rebounded with a face turn which eventually led to his first Intercontinental title in October. By the end of the year, he was one of the hottest stars in wrestling. Doink The Clown - Some may claim bias and even I will admit the end of the year marked the demise for the character, Doink was a major player on WWF programming for most of 1993. He had hot feuds that were prominently featured and his matches were always among the best in the company. The biggest issue was Doink getting over which eventually lead to his ill-fated face turn.

1)Bret Hart-Started the year off strong, faded towards the ends but was dependable. Was champion at the start and defended the title at Royal Rumble but lost it thanks to interference from Mr Fuji in April. Won the King of The Ring
2)Youkzuna. Actually won the title twice, even if the first reign last just a few minutes. 2nd reign was 280 days. Lost his Summerslam and Survivor Series matches but was still holding the title as we turned into 1994
3)Razor Ramon--Newer guy to the WWF who made an impact and fit right in. Didn't seem out of place
4)Shawn Michaels--Got suspended in 1993 but was entertaining. Was really developing and becoming fun tp watch

Bret- easy one here.
Yoko-the rising star.Enjoyed his run as champ.
Razor-like Yoko the rising star.Great transition from heel to face.
Narcissist Luger- it only lasted 6 months but damn it was entertaining.
Almost gave a spot to Taker just for being a trooper in that Gonzalez feud lol

Bret Hart Lex Luger Yokozuna Mr Perfect This is mine as well! 1st 3 are a lock IMO, but perfect could be replaced with razor, doink, undertaker, or savage with all representing the new generation well!

Bret Hart: I do not see how anyone could not have him on their list, his one night performance at King of the Ring alone makes him my no 1 pick.
Razor Ramon: He really came into his own here and by the end of the year he was a firm favorite of mine
Shawn Michaels: Even though he took his ball and went home, he still had constantly good matches. What is weird about HBK's 1993 is most of his good matches happened on TV, on PPV he was actually very, very average in 1993.
Marty Jannetty: I can see some of you yelling WTF at your screen right now, but hear me out. Marty Jannetty had solid match after solid match on TV in 1993. He won the IC title in a barnburner and each time he was on RAW or one of the other weekly shows he had on hell of an entertaining match. He was a guy I always hoped would be on TV each week!

1993 is as follows:
Bret Hart: Entered the year as Champ & won KOTR Yokozuna: Was champ for 9 months of the year Lex Luger: Was the main challenger for 6 months of the year and in a high profile debut spot before that as the Narcissist HBK: was IC champ for the bulk of the year
Simple as....

Great points with HBK and Marty. His match with Tatanka at WrestleMania was a decent match on a weak card, but all of his other PPV matches were nothing special at all. You could argue his match versus Perfect at SummerSlam might be one of the most disappointing matches ever given both of their reputations. Marty had pretty amazing matches all year when he wasn't busy getting himself fired for the hundredth time.
