I’m on the side of people who don’t really think Brian Cage has been used in a meaningful way so far. I mean they aren’t gonna use everyone right, it’s just the way wrestling works. But I do think they have beat him way too often and not really given him any meaningful wins. Way too often? He’s lost twice in 8 months and only pinned once. Team Taz has lost a lot of tag matches as well. Sorry that if feels to me that they lost too often. It’s just my opinion man.

I said I don’t think they are using him to his potential. Which I don’t? I’m a fan and I just think he should be a top tier man event guy. A guy you can build the brand around. Not in a mid card stable running away from a 60 year old man with a baseball bat.

I’m more so talking about a member last night making a big deal out of him losing acting like he just got destroyed and beaten clean in the middle of the ring

I’m not coming after you. I’m just trying to understand what you’re trying to say Adding those tag matches (where he never was pinned or submitted), Cage has looked great and last night was the 1st time he was pinned in AEW. My only complaint is that Cage hasn’t had a series of squash matches on Dynamite going into the TNT title match, but I’m not too upset about it.

Maybe that’s part of my mindset, he loses to Moxley, his team loses some tag matches, team taz consistently gets run off, he doesn’t beat anyone on dynamite in singles matches, then bam he loses to Darby. He doesn’t feel important. To me it feels like they value Archer more than Cage and I think Cage has 10x the upside that Archer has.

I think we can find common ground in agreeing that Cage should have been booked as more of a monster the last several months. lol

both arguments are valid, it comes down to:
1) if you think Cage as a talent should be more prominently featured
2) if you think AEW is not realistic enough in size portrayal - as in, Cage should've just ran over Darby mentality
neither are wrong or right, just a taste thing. I personally understand the booking as they've put their eggs in Darby's basket and the kid is a potential star down the road.

Any 'monster' aura surrounding Cage disappeared after he got pinned clean, by a woman half his size. I can't look at him now, without thinking, "you lost to Tessa Blanchard".

I personally think Cage is a credible challenger for either title, he just needs more tv time.

I saw something like this on Reddit, had to share:
The Darby/Taz storyline started when Taz approached Darby after he didn’t hit the crucifix pin right and it cost Darby the match against Cody. Allin blew Taz off making the ECW legend feel disrespected. After EIGHT months of tension, Darby hit that move and pinned Taz’s star pupil for the TNT title.
How can you be mad at that? So rad.
