The Royal Rumble has had many winners in the past but who did you want to be the Rumble winner?
For me Macho Man really should've got a Rumble win at least once in his career. In '93 would've been good, a match against Bret would've been great for the main event of Mania IX.

Undisputed Rock win in 2000. Thought that whole scenario was rubbish.
Daniel Bryan in 2014.

88- warrior, OMG, muraco
89- LOVED Studd winning, that was my no.1 pick! but andre or savage woulda been cool as well. maybe savage throwing hogan out towards the end like sid did in 92 (prob with a flying knee to the back tho lol)
90- warrior, andre, macho king or mr perfect
91- this one i was be fine with hogan winning, but was hoping for mr perfect or earthqauke if not hogan
92- piper or sid were my picks, but flair winning was cool!
93- mr perfect, but yoko was my 2nd pick
94- luger by himself
95- bulldog
96- vader or jake the snake
2002- mr perfect
didnt care much about 97-2001

Bryan in 2014 (and if not then 2015) is the obvious choice for me.
I always thought Punk should have won in 2011, Del Rio was an awful choice. 2010 timeline — Orton wins title from Sheamus at Summerslam, Barrett wins title from Orton at SVS with Cena’s forced help. Cena escapes Nexus and wins title from Barrett at Rumble. Punk vs. Cena main event Mania 27 for the WWE Title, throw in Rock if you need to but he was needed more so because Miz had no star power.
Styles should have won this year. I wouldn’t have wasted Styles/McIntyre at TLC and saved it for Mania. Or Styles vs. someone at Mania. Drews face schtick is starting to wear on me. He’s becoming more generic babyface and less badass as the days go on. I found myself excited to see Sheamus of all people kick him in the head the other week.

Was going to say this as well. This would have helped with him winning and keeping his "perfect streak" alive. It also would have set up a great re-match with him and Hogan, they could have put Hogan over in the singles match to end the streak.

Wade Barrett in 2011, Chris Jericho in 2012, Ryback in 2013, Daniel Bryan in 2015 (should have been Bryan/Lesnar and a Shield triple threat), Dean Ambrose in 2016, Braun Strowman in 2019. Some older ones would be Mr. Perfect in 1990 and f*ck it Kane in 2001 YEAH I SAID IT!

Ultimate Warrior in 1990
Texas Tornado in 1991.... yes really! I was all in on Kerry and so wanted him to win the Royal Rumble.
Randy Savage in 1992
Randy Savage in 1993
Bret Hart in 1994, still to this day I hate the ending of this Rumble. Bret and Luger made it look great, but as a kid I was just yelling "just restart the match!!!"
Steve Austin in 1999. in hindsite the fact that Vince won was best as it just made you hate him even more.
Steve Austin in 2002 The return of Triple H was awesome and all, but I was rooting for Austin to win the 2002 Rumble as part of his redemption

Jericho in 2012. The RR that year was the first show I had watched since the summer of 2011. I didn't watch again till Mania due to Jericho's loss. Stupid booking having Sheamus win. Austin winning in 1999 is another obvious choice. To make the Vince cage match make sense they could have just made him put up the spot at Mania for the that match.

Jericho in 2012; the kid in me wanted HHH at RR 2011. I always felt Orton's 2017 Rumble felt akward; even watching it in 2017 was weird.

It would have been cool to see Piper win it in 1990.

In 1989 I wanted Hogan to win.
In 1992 I wanted Hogan to win.
In 1993 I wanted Savage to win.
In 1996 I wanted Diesel to win.
In 1997 I wanted Bret Hart to win.
In 1999 I wanted Triple H to win.
That's all I can really remember. The last 20 years of Rumbles are sort of a blur who I wanted to win because I forget half of the combatants who were in those Rumbles anyhow now.

1990 - Mr. Perfect - Hate that he didn't win. Loved Mr. Perfect
1994 - Diesel - Going in I wanted Luger to win because I liked him in JCP, even if he was stuck with USA gimmick. But after seeing Diesel throwing people out I totally got caught in the moment and wanted him to win.

1992 - Piper. As the popular veteran who had never won a title despite being a big name, I really hoped they were going to crown him a double champ that night. Not sure what direction they could or would have gone down, but I would have really marked out. British Bulldog was only my second choice.
1993 - Mr Perfect. Was always a fan and was hoping that being a face would make him a genuine headliner, although in hindsight I would have preferred Savage to win so that he would have given Bret the rub at Mania 9.
1994 - Luger. I just thought it was logical for him to win the WWF title at Wrestlemania, since it appeared to me that SummerSlam must not have been a big enough stage for the title change. However, when it played out I was hoping that Luger would beat Yoko and face Bret in the main event to both avoid a repeat of the previous years main event and also to give us Bret vs Lex one on one in a high stakes match. (They could even repeat all the balloons and celebrating wrestlers for Luger again but with real meaning)
1995 - British Bulldog. It made it worse by how close he was to winning. Really hated Shawn Michaels back then and really hated how he won. They certainly played me as a fan as it drew mega heat from me!!
1996 - British Bulldog. Shawn Michaels ruins the day again for me by superkicking Diesel (another favourite of mine back then) out to win, and somehow being allowed to eliminate the heavyweights Vader AND Yokozuna together when he wasn’t exactly known for strength and Yokozuna had never even been close to being thrown over the top rope before and then to make it even worse for me, he eliminates Bulldog again too.
1997 - British Bulldog obviously, although since I knew he had no chance (in hell), I would have been happy with Vader, Taker or Bret winning. But Austin was fine.
Anyway I give up on this for now. Fun thread though.
