I know that there are a lot of collectors who have expressed interest over the Gobbeldy Gooker figure over the years, I remember seeing a picture of a prototype many years ago (I believe that goes back to the Jakks days). I'm curious if Jakks or Mattel ever gave a reason why they have not released this figure? and if so what was the reason?

There wasn’t enough of an interest. Mattel created it along with a Beth Phoenix doll with rooted hair and a Randy Orton RKOing CM Punk statue as display props for their first Comic Con or Toy Fair with the WWE license. They said if there was an interest they could look into releasing them. But there wasn’t enough of an interest generated for them to make it.

A epic moments Gobbledy Gooker in breakable egg with Mean Gene set would be just awesome

It was a 1 of 1 made for a display piece and it got a very negative reaction so they never even considered making it (it was also hella expensive even back then)
I think if they had showed it in 2015 instead of 2010 when the line first started a lot more people would’ve wanted it

The Gooker would be an expensive figure to produce regarding all of the special tooling for it. Also Action Figure Attack said that they can't make the Gooker anyway because the original person who played the character had to be under a merch deal regardless of who else portrayed the character. Also Hector Guerrero was named in the concussion lawsuit against WWE

So who got the gooker display? Of course with it being in we all know who’s hands, why does he care if any collector gets one.

The issue now is the new rule that the talent in the suit has to be under contract. Steve has expressed interest in trying to make Gooker but can’t without Hector signed to a deal. Other wrestlers have appeared in the costume but it’s not the same as the SvS90 one. That being said, Gulak wore one very similar to the original this past SvS so there may now be a chance.

Why not do Gobbledy Gooker as a show exclusive?
Also how hard would it be to sign Hector Guerrero to a contract to make a figure?

Here's a question for the board: Would you buy Gooker in its current form if the original costume/character was not deemed possible?
If so, would you display it with your Legends figures even if it wasn't a proper Survivor Series '90 version?
I think I would have to get it knowing how long it's been since the version I want most was first teased, and especially if a debut Gooker is never going to happen, but I don't know if I want to spend a lot for a knockoff. I'd be content with Mattel never attempting it at all if it's not the one, true Gooker costume.

I had zero interest in it when they showed it back in 2010 and I still wouldn’t buy one today. We already got the important debut from that PPV in the EG and then again in the DOD series 1 Undertaker figures.
