It's got to be one of three guys Brock, Cena or Punk. If Kurt or Christian or any other TNA guy trots out there tom night then AEW will never recover and the transition to Jacksonville Dixie will be complete. At the end of the day, AEW will continue to succeed because they have their built in fan base. It would take them a lot to get to late WCW levels of bad. I don’t think whoever it will be will live up to the hype but I don’t think it’ll be bad. It’s hilarious to me that they somehow convinced some people that Brock is even a possibility. Succeed??? AEW has their core audience but it hasn't grown at all since AEW began. Tony Kahn hyping up the biggest signing ever just reeks TNA and desperation. You're right about one thing, AEW isn't WCW because at one point WCW was the hottest thing going in entertainment. TNA is a much better comparsion and it will be even worst if the "huge huge huge signing" is more TNA rejects.

This isn't make or break for me in terms of the show, looking more forward to the barbwire match which admittedly could also be a huge letdown but i do have high hopes. Ladder match, street fight also intrigue me and the rest of the card make up what should be a fun night
I do agree somewhat with theman in that if khan hasn't signed punk or lesnar than he has made a mistake in the hyping of this new signing. Some would lose faith/trust in khan for any future announcements
Guys like angle, rvd, bully ray, Christian etc. Would rightfully receive negative reactions and possibly overshadow any of the good /great from the rest of the show, if it was one of those just have them show up on dynamite for a cool moment.
Christian would be really underwhelming when you have the much more famous member of his old tag team main event WM, would be a bad look Imo.

You’re greatly mistaken if you believe wrestling will ever reach the heights of the Monday night wars again. AEW has succeeded in providing an alternative to WWE for both viewers and wrestlers and for remaining popular enough to earn an extension on their TV deal. AEW has done nothing near peak garbage TNA.

Where did I say pro wrestling would reach the heights of the Monday Night War? Someone else made the comparsion to WCW...not me. AEW has not succeeded in anything and would not even have a time slot if cable networks wasn't so desperate for live programs, Tony Kahn could have made this real simple if he would have said "expect another surprise Sunday" and left it at that. None of this huge huge huge and game changing talk, sure some fans would still expect the moon but it would be their fault when Christian walks out, now after all this hype and garbage talk there will be nobody to blame but Jacksonville Dixie himself when a former TNA star is their incredible coup. Make no mistake about it, TNA had a chance one time but then Dixie Carter became a mark.

True, but WWE typically tries to sell through their merchandise even if someone isn’t with the company any longer. It’s not as often they completely remove everything.

It’s not as often they completely remove everything. Wrong. When a talent is no longer with the company ALL merchandise is taken off, same thing happened with Sting. Also, it's worth noting that Brock was moved back to the active roster just a few days ago. With that being said, I have a source telling me that Brock has been offered a job with Jacksonville Jaguars if he signs a contract with AEW, don't know how reliable this source is so take it with a gigantic grain of salt. It's looking more likely that it's going to be Christian, Angle or even Shamrock...........lol, boy is Tony going to have a huge huge egg on his face when this is over. lol

It’s not as often they completely remove everything. Regardless of what they typically do or don’t do, Brock’s has been off the site for several several months now. Like probably not long after Mania last year. So this isn’t any kind of clue, even if it turns out to be him.

Ambrose and Rusev are two recent examples. But I guess saying “wrong” makes up for ignoring those things. Read my actual OP. I said it’s highly unlikely to be Brock. Just that he no longer has merchandise when it was still there when his contract first ran out months ago.

Just pointing out that the merch thing isn’t any kind of tell IF it were to be him, because it’s been gone from shop for a long time.

TK himself has hyped this up so much, that almost anyone mentioned this week would be a disappointment.
I believe Christian will be in the ladder match.
