Any chance the big signing could be someone from Japan? Everyone keeps focusing on former WWE stars but with AEW’s core audience having a decent understanding of wrestling from Japan (or that there’s atleast other promotions there with top names connected to The Elite), any chance we get someone big coming over? I don't think bringing in a big star from Japan for "their core audience" is going to grow ratings. Outside of a name like Rock, Cena or possibly Austin (none of which I see coming) I dont think any name they bring in will draw long term ratings boost. They'll get the week or two jump like normal then level back off to their normal area. |

It's not like TK doesn't have a history of over-hyping. The announcement that will send shockwaves through the wrestling world was the FTW title, which has been literally meaningless since it showed up. Remember how great that empty arena match between Mox and Hager was supposed to be? Yeah... I love TK but he over-hypes everything. Not wrong here. That’s why when he said it’s “one of his all-time favorites” I’m like well sh*t he’s a big fan of so many people it could still literally be anyone. |

Why is no one talking about Jay White?
I see Chris Hero doing the ladder match and Switchblade being the big signing.
Christian will stay with WWE as well as McAfee. Signing guys like Kurt and bringing them back from retirement will not help AEW in long terms. If they are smart they keep pushing the young talent, something WWE appears to fail in. This way they may have a chance t recruit the really interesting WWE talents when they become available.

Worth noting that was said before anyone started speculating i.e. if it's someone like Christian or Angle, they may have felt that was shocking when they said it, even if now it wouldn't be shocking because it's been guessed a whole bunch. |
