I was excited for this thread, until I read it was by the crazy guy who keeps making fake posts about Hogan.
Anyone want to share their real experiences? I use it to have it all the time as a little kid asking for figures. Now that I'm that age myself, I see it was pretty annoying for them... It makes me REALLY appreciate the people who were nice to little me...

It makes me REALLY appreciate the people who were nice to little me... I’m always as polite as possible. I hate asking, but if I know or think I know they have something I’m really after then I do. Sometimes there’s success, and other times there’s not. I don’t think anyone has ever been rude back to me, but there’s times I can tell they didn’t care or want to help.

Whenever I ask anyone in Smyths, they're usually really friendly and helpful - even when it means getting those huge ladders out...

No.
I've worked in retail myself now for 10 years, and the golden rule is never be rude to a customer - just take the p**s out of them after they've left and their money is in the till.

Sometimes, I really wish I could get inside the head of some people. I'd love to see what needs to take place for someone to convince themselves that if they routinely make up stories about how in-demand their favorite wrestler is, to the extent that retail employees nation-wide are being badgered non-stop about them and that independent retailers are hosting impromptu auctions for their wares, Mattel will fast track said favorite wrestler into production.

Let me preface this by saying this is a true story and not satire. A week or so ago I was in Target to check the figures and the aisle was blocked by the poor guy who stocks sports cards and Pokémon (who doesn’t work for Target). As he was pushing his cart full of boxes towards me (and grown men were filling carts with football card boxes), he sees me and sighs really loud. I said “I’m just waiting to get by you” and I could actually feel his look of relief. That’s got to be one of the worst jobs at the moment.

We have a card vendor that comes to our store once a week to fill the cards, and we have a group of people that know her store route. They follow her from store to store. It's the same people every week, and they are actually pretty understanding and wait for her to finish stocking everything and get her pictures of it before they grab everything. I wouldn't want someone following me around as I did my job, but they are all very civil and are friendly to her. By far, the meanest and most demanding people are the Hot Wheels people.

Last week at the Monroe NY Walmart the manager got into it with a Trading cards guy where he finally said they aren’t going to sell them at the store anymore. lol

Nope. I don’t really ask employees anymore, but when I did, if they said no I’d thank them and move on. No need to harass already stressed out retail employees.
Like PJ saw, I saw one employee the other week being harassed over not having Pokémon cards on the shelves. Like honestly, how lame must your life be to go off on someone making around minimum wage because you can’t get your Charizard card.

I don't hunt for much anymore, but I don't usually ask when I do. Sometimes an employee will ask me if I need help (at Target, never Walmart), so I'll ask then. I did ask one about the Royal Rumble figures, and he was helpful. I can't recall a time an employee was flat-out rude.

Obviously, this is a gimmick account. The best thing would be to ignore it. Eventually, he will get tired of posting once he is no longer getting attention and will move on to a new gimmick account.
Reminds me of that other member that pretends to be a young girl on here and posts nonstop about "her" fascination with Mattel dollies. Speaking of which, I looked at that account and "she" last posted on Jan 25th and this account was created on Jan 23. Coincidence? Are they the same person? Did her dad from Salinas ground "her" and take away "her" wfigs posting rights? Or was this particular user inspired by "her" gimmick account so he decided to make his own?

Honestly I've never understood how somebody has enough free time and energy to make a gimmick account on a niche hobby website. But you're totally spot on - just ignore the threads (or turn it into a drinking game?). That said, I did enjoy the Mean Gene gimmick account that used to pop up here every so often. And there's a guy on Reddit who posts Bret Hart "quotes" on random topics that sound absurdly believable if you've read any of Bret's books or interviews.

There is also a guy that posts on Wrestlinginc news articles that had a Kane gimmick (Eliminator Kane) just like this Hogan gimmick. I think he was eventually banned there though. Bunch of Hogan, McMahon, DJT accounts too.

We do have one specific individual that comes in 2-3 times a day looking for Hot Wheels. I've seen him have a meltdown several times when he sees someone else got to them first. But on the other hand, we have a few guys that come in, neatly sort through all of them, and then stand around for hours talking about them together.
