Did they ever have match? As Tugboat was meant to turn heel in 91

I liked how at Rumble 91 Tugboat tried to eliminate Hogan which was the first tease for his eventual heel turn. Then they teased more friction between the two during that battle royal on SNME that April.
Good continuity there.

They kind of wasted his heel turn. They should have had him turn on Hogan when they faced Bravo and Earthquake at one of the main events in 1991. Then have LOD come down to help Hogan out to set up the feud with LOD and the Natural Disasters.

Good continuity there. I love how they used trying to eliminate Hogan from the rumble as a way to turn multiple guys heel at the time despite the match literally being every man for himself. How dare Tugboat and Sid attempt to eliminate the Hulkster.

Wish I can find the video but on Prime Time circa June 91 they introduced The Natural Disasters officially with Typhoon calling Hogan out about their past but in the end nothing came of it.

To this day I don’t understand that one, I was 5 at the time and I was sitting there like, why did Hulk help Flair win???

He also no doubt dumped Mach out on purpose at Rumble 89.

I still have the VHS haha. It was a genuine reaction, like why did he do that? I HATED Flair as a kid, he was the definitive heel. I wanted ANYBODY but him to win, Hogan helping him win was like, Dude!? WTF! I was SO mad man haha, I remember watching that so vividly. I wasn’t AS mad that he pulled out Sid, I was mad he helped Flair win. But in the process, he made Sid a huge baby face to me. Now a days I love watching it back because Sid is embellishing the fans boo’s by booing in Hogans face when the fans boo and pointing at the Hogan Who? sign in the crowd lol. You can tell Hogan gets in close to him and says cut it out and Sid kinda is like, Huh?? His whole facial expression changes haha. That’s good stuff

Yep, Hogan was terrible. I loved it when Savage slapped him in the face on SNME then left. Perfect. I remember Jesse calling Hogan out in the RR when he dumped Warrior. Jesse was gold. I don't know what they were thinking with Hogan pulling Sid out, why they thought he was going to look good makes you wonder about the people at the top making decisions. It would have been better if Hogan was just arguing with Sid, saying that we are friends and how could you throw me out from behind like that, then just have Flair come from behind and eliminate Sid by himself. This way Hogan wouldn't have done anything so the fans couldn't be that upset with him. Then you have Sid going around saying that Hogan cost him the title when he didn't which would make Sid look like the crybaby instead of Hogan. And The Brain is correct, Hogan definitely dumped out Savage in 1989... because he had lust in his eyes for Elizabeth...

That’s the thing though, at that time I think guys like Hogan had enough stroke to at least SWAY the decisions, maybe not make them but definitely steer the ship in that direction. I’m POSITIVE he thought dumping Sid made him look good, I can hear it haha. “If anyone is gonna dump him out brother, it should be me”. That’s why it’s so puzzling, you’re idea is right on the money, they can argue and that’s fine, but as soon as he grabbed Sid, he looked like a heel! Like, I don’t care WHO wins as long as it’s not you because you eliminated me fair and square. I loved Jesse too. I have to say I am a Hulkamaniac, Warrior first but Hulks Hulk, I loved him. When I listen to Jesse now though, his digs are hysterical. You can tell he doesn’t like Hogan but it made it so entertaining because what he says is true lol

Don't forget dumping his Mega Powers partner in 89 and eliminating Bossman after he had already been eliminated. God I hated Hogan.

I can’t say I hate Hulk, all those guys made my childhood, I can never hate any of them. At the ‘92 Rumble though, he made me pretty upset with him haha.

Hey I loved the era but part of it was being one of the few kids that hated Hulkamania lol. Unfortunately most PPVs didn't end well for me.

This is still gold over 30 years later. Not only do you got Mean Gene trying his hardest not to burst out laughing but the PO box being ''911''

I think the PO Box being 911 couples with the picture of Hogan is what broke Mean Gene lol Hey I loved the era but part of it was being one of the few kids that hated Hulkamania lol. Unfortunately most PPVs didn't end well for me. Well if it makes you feel any better, we all got a dose of how you felt when Vince strapped a rocket to Cena 12 years later and did the same thing haha.
