I still dont understand the over reactions by "fans" on the internet. The whole "Im never watching again", "you've lost me as a fan" even as far as wishing death on Vince....Ive literally seen them part with Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Ultimate Warrior, Macho Man, The Rock and Steve Austin....Every single one of them bigger than any wrestler they've released in the past 10-15 years and WWE & the wrestling world still moves on. There is a guy in the PA thread that is selling his whole collection after today’s releases, if you need anything hit him up, he is over it! 26 posts in 2 years and wants to sell everything...I trust a taco bell fart more than that guy

If they release more people I predict Jeff Hardy, Roderick Strong, Marina Shafir, Jason Ryker, and Elias. Maybe Ricochet too.

Why would Vince ever want to sell the company he & the rest of his family have worked so hard all these years to build. If anything he would probably leave it to Hunter, Stephanie, & Shane to run when he eventually passes on.
Then with all the space that was made available over the last two years by releasing so much talent it has created some room for some new talent to get their opportunity to be in NXT & WWE.

I dont see Vince selling the company. What would he do with himself? This company is his whole life.

For what it’s worth Aliester also admitted they slowly killed the character You mean people are only taking bits and pieces of what someone said to spin their own narrative and rile people up? On the WWE board no less?!

Realistically I can see none of the "kids" actually wanting to deal with a major corporation. Shane has shown he's more than willing to leave wrestling behind and go venture into other business aspects. If we're being real Stephanie has a decent business sense but is totally clueless on wrestling & creative ideas...and Triple H hits me as the type that would rather run a small wrestling company with a decent roster, much like his NXT brand has been then be the head of a major corporation with all the headaches and being away from family all the time.

Im not suprised by any of them. Black sucked, Strowman sucked even worse and Lana sucks, Ruby Riott didnt offer much other than a quirky look. Vince as usual gets it pretty much spot on.

Honestly that’s really all you need now a days. A huge corporation like WWE is so much more than wrestling that often wrestling becomes an afterthought. Triple H running something at the level of an AEW or NJPW would really be up his ally.

whew LOT of hot takes in this thread my god
I'm genuinely shocked that they released Braun Strowman. Normally these mass releases are for talent that ISNT being used or maybe their contract is up and they aren't re-signing, etc.
Braun just felt like he was going to be around a LONG time, like Kane-career territory. I really don't understand this cut.
Black was another level talent who they completely botched and wasted after they moved him off NXT. It's a damn shame it had to end this way.

Off topic but honestly I’ve never been more at a point with wrestling in general where I watch so little product. There’s arguably more on TV now for wrestling than there has been in at least 20 years if not all time and its just so disinteresting.
Can’t say any of these releases surprise me particularly. They had no idea how to book guys and girls like Braun, Aleister, and Ruby. I’m glad to see them likely get a much better chance somewhere else.

Yeah, it's really not far fetched, particularly is WWE can position itself as a media/entertainment company and generate offers in the ballpark of UFC. It doesn't necessarily have anything to wanting to deal with a corporation or not. The potential valuation is through the roof right now, and at the end of the day you're talking about an entertainment conglomerate that has been operating constantly for 40 years under the vision and leadership of one man, who is now in his mid-70's. It's not crazy to think that a buyout that allows the family to cash in, keeps Vince in a leadership role, retains corporate positions for Stephanie and Hunter, and rolls them into being a division of a media conglomerate is at least appealing compared to other scenarios over the next 10-15 years. With that kind of valuation and with the amount of stock the kids and Vince have, you're talking about "go buy yourself an island and do whatever you want for the rest of your life" money. That probably sounds a lot more attractive than the weekly grind of writing and rewriting tv, shareholder calls, etc.

Vince would never sell his company. If he did his father and grandfather would spin in their graves.
As for the releases. There goes the chance of getting an updated elite of Ruby Riott and a first elite for Lana

Vince isn’t selling. HHH/Steph/Shane will handle it after he’s gone.
WWE won’t be owned by a non McMahon in our lifetime.

A “B” stock has 10x the voting power as an A and by legal agreement, only a McMahon or direct blood descendants can own “B” stock. Triple H can’t even own it.

It is crazy to think that one year ago Braun Strowman was the Universal Champion and today he is out of a job.

Does anyone know if Braun's brother "Brains Strowman" is still employed by the WWE though?!?!
