Duke is looking awesome. Will definitely be ordering him , very toyetic as they say. So glad hes getting made in retro fashion . Still waiting on my Ahmed , so concerns of the quality , but Mitch is really picking a good roster of guys , that fit in with the line. Hoping we can get the Quebecers ,Jonny polo and the Beverly brothers at some point !

I note a day ago a pic of the Ahmed was posted by one of these companies but not an acknowledgment, apology or explanation why another timescale has come and gone without as much as a word.
This week they were supposed to be leaving the factory, if they had suffice to say he would’ve posted about it.

Brian Myers just posted his unboxing of Godfather and Ahmed. I don’t want to trash these (and to be fair, Brian didn’t either) but I’m glad I waited. These just don’t look right to me. The skin tones just look wrong. They’re very squeaky figures, most likely due to everything being painted instead of molded in the skin tone color. They seem gummy and the Godfather jointed elbow looks wonky. I don’t think they’re awful, but they’re missing the mark for me. And with Zombie posting that new Ahmed mold today, I feel more comfortable waiting for his. I will say though that there’s some potential for the future for Mitch if G&G makes him a profit and he can improve on the mistakes. But we’ll have to wait and see on that.
I will say, Ahmed looks better than I thought from looking at the photos. They really got the sheen right. The figure just seems like cheap quality, which seems to be its biggest drawback.
Figures like Mabel and Droese already look much better. Not sure if they'll be heavier/better material though

I just received my figures from Grapplers and Gimmicks. I’ll try to post pictures today or tomorrow. Initial impressions:
They look fairly good in person. They fit better than some figures from each line but they aren’t above the best from each line either.
They feel cheap as in they are clearly not a hard plastic. That isn’t news but it is more noticeable in-hand. On display? They look just fine in my collection.
Ahmed has trouble standing at times.
Both figures came packaged in a single shipment (not separate). Not a big deal to me but I believe it was advertised as the price of shipping being included in each figure. Again, this makes no difference to me at the end of the day but be aware of this.
The packaging might be the closest I have felt to a Hasbro while opening it. The design is nice and clean…HOWEVER - there weee some minor dings on one card prior to opening it. Also, Ahmed’s card was dusty.
Godfather’s skin color and Ahmed’s skin color really are off. Godfather is significantly worse. Ahmed photographed better than he looks in person as odd as that might sound. I will say that Ahmed is probably closer to his true life skin tone but when compared to similar tones, it sticks out.
Weight-wise these are very close to other figures. All are within an ounce of each other (I didn’t do grams, sorry).
Are they perfect? Absolutely not. Will I order more Grapplers and Gimmicks? Yes…probably by the end of the day. For all of their flaws and nitpicks, these figures work well as a display piece, have a reasonable price point, the customer service has been great, and the lineup is hitting the right notes for me thus far!

Good fair review. I think most of not all will be collecting these to put on shelves so that’s good if they look good on shelf. I wonder how they’ll stand up to a few dings falling over or being knocked off shelves etc

Great pics!
I actually really like them
The skin tone feels right to me in the photo for Ahmed but off v other hasbros more because their tones a bit off if that makes sense.
I think he’s done a good job especially given the time frame

@chair.Shot that’s a really good review. Nice work. Great to see all brands by comparison.

Is there still any discount code for rockandrollcollectibles?
Rockandrollcollectibles has all current Grapplers&Gimmicks available for preorder again (minus Ahmed Johnson and Godfather).

Legit question -- does anyone have any ideas about how the Godfather could weigh as much as the Hasbros when the figure looks and feels to much cheaper/lighter quality?

Legit question -- does anyone have any ideas about how the Godfather could weigh as much as the Hasbros when the figure looks and feels to much cheaper/lighter quality? Density of plastic perhaps. As in Hasbros used a harder plastic but it was thinner/more hollow if you broke it open. Grapplers and Gimmicks are probably less-hollow. This is all just a guess. No need to start a rumor that all Grapplers and Gimmicks contain a hidden piece of a map inside of them to help make up the weight difference. By the way - when you put all the map pieces together, it just leads to Mitch’s store…but that is the only place where you can buy the secret exclusive Grapplers and Gimmicks championship belt set! What an unfortunate rumor for people to spread. Really though, the plastic they use feels a bit more like a Jakks BCA where there is some level of give to it (and it returns to shape). It is more rigid than a BCA but if you were to run your fingertip or nail across it, the sensation would be similar.

One small request: can you show Ahmed and Goldust next to each other? I’m interested to see how they look, as I know they feuded for a while.

Thank you! That looks amazing! I know the Mattel Retros are usually a little thiccc’er than the originals and their contemporaries. But Ahmed looks great compared to Goldust. Maybe a bit bigger.

These first two from Grapplers and Gimmicks the faces left alot to be desired. Its not till the Savio where he got someone to start doing the faces which you can see the difference on all the future ones. Which look great.
