Yup. That is a pretty interesting get. I’m hoping it could lead to other people like JCVD and villains from various action movies. Those would blend in well. http://instagram.com/p/CuCWKnrODdp I am not interested in Bruce Lee personally but I would definitely consider others if it hits the right notes of nostalgia.

Yeah, while I’m not a fan of the guy and I don’t think his figures fit too well with the Hasbro figures, this is a very solid signing and the figure looks good. Not for me personally, but I’m sure some will be really into it.

Adrian Street! I forgot about that. I would like to know if that’s still happening. as I understand it, Epic aren't going to do a British Legends line as a separate entity
they're planning to release a figure per wave, where it makes sense
so rather than get a wave of the likes of Kendo Nagasaki, Adrian Street, Dave Taylor, Mick McManus, Fit Finlay, Chris Adams, 'Rollerball' Rocco, Marty Jones etc, you'd get a wave of five or so figures like Eddie Guerrero/Adrian Street/Killer Bees and Missy Hyatt, and then in the next wave, you might get Kendo Nagasaki included alongside the likes of Legion of Doom and Onita
personally I'd prefer all of the British legends to be released as a line of their own, because I'd happily buy them for a British legends collection, but their view is making them part of the wider line has more value than creating a whole new line with limited market interest
I guess that makes sense, although it does disappoint me a little. As long as I get Kendo (two attires) and Street I'll be okay.

It's a great figure if you're a Bruce Lee fan, but it doesn't do much for me personally. Now if he did a Bruce Campbell figure, I'd be interested.

I honestly cannot see Bruce Lee selling well in the form of a tiny figure that has nostalgia for wrestling collectors from the 90s.
With action figures being so much better now, even if you liked Bruce Lee, would you want something that fits with Hasbro wrestling figures -- these small, hard plastic things that you don't know anything about?

I don't honestly feel that many of ZST's figures that are supposed to fit in with Hasbro actually fit in with Hasbro, but I think Bruce will appeal to some retro wrestling figure collectors, especially if they're fans of Bruce Lee, but it's a small market, unless he can appeal to non wrestling figure collectors outside that particular market who are Bruce Lee fans. For what it is, and the packaging and figure as a whole, it's a nice little piece of pop culture, so as long as he can market it properly then I'm sure people will be interested. ReAction figures do pretty well, and they're making all kinds of pop culture icons in Kenner figure form, so who knows.

I guess ZST would rather give out potentially incorrect dates than no dates at all, which is what a few of these companies have done. It's difficult to say which one is more annoying, tbh, incorrect dates or no dates.

I'd also be more interested in the actual wrestlers he showed off ages ago and we don't even have preorders yet, like Power and Glory, Bad News, Mr. Hughes etc etc. Before we start worrying about celebreties. Props for getting a huge name, but I fail to see the audience for this? Did Lee ever do anything in wrestling? Particularly around the time period fans that are collecting Hasbro style figures would have been watching? Now, on the other hand if we were talking someone like LT, Bob Ucker, Chuck Norris, or others who appeared on shows durring the era, I'd probably be interested.

He didn't "get" a huge name. Other companies make Lee too. He just made a pitch, agreed to a payment, and now hope he'll make a profit. But yes you're right, that means he's counting on a very niche area of Hasbro Lee fans ... as there are already multiple Lee figures out there for Lee fans to buy.

I can see the Bruce Lee figure selling for somewhere closer to $60 or $75 because it's targeting a smaller market, if you're a die-hard Bruce Lee fan (to the point where you buy little dolls of him) then you'd already have one of the many highly articulated action figures released over the years
a Bruce Lee figure in the Hasbro form factor is not something that collectors have been clamouring for, this is his way to try and expand his figure line into new collector markets, but I cannot see a small figure of Bruce Lee as the doorway to shift thousands of units and open up that style to other figures
Josh is living in the mindset that "Collectors collect anything, they need to have it all" rather than "Collectors collect things that fit in with the rest of their collection"

I couldn't have said it better. I'd give anything to see his books to see how he fares financially on this -- but we'll just be left to speculation...

I would have love to have seen a hybrid of celebrity and something that fits into 90s/late 80s wrestling like a Chuck Norris, Ali, Rodman, Malone among others for wrestling fans to dabble in as well as getting new collectors who are fans of the celeb

the Hasbro style was revived by Mattel, but they haven't re-used that style for any other action figure line, and it's not exclusive to wrestling figures, their other action figure lines are all closer to the 6" scale because that's what most people want - articulated figures which can be posed/played with in many ways
yes, having a celebrity who was at some point associated with wrestling through WWF/WCW might be an interesting addition to a collection, but it's hardly going to appeal to Bruce Lee fans who see this figure and think "Right, I need that! I must have it" but Josh seems to expect them to follow that up with "I'll also buy a figure of Bastion Booger because.... why not? Oh, and a Matt Cardona figure, no idea who he is but I'll buy it anyway"
that's not how this works - fans of Bruce Lee won't scour the internet for any loosely related figure/merchandise, most will stick to Amazon or maybe a comic store or a site like Super7 or Forbidden Planet that specialises in selling a whole raft of these sorts of figures, they're not going to suddenly stumble across this gimp in gloves and think "Yeah, I'm buying what he's selling" which is why I can't see the wider appeal or where this goes next, he's promoted it to his own customer base/followers, where is he promoting this elsewhere and actively growing his market reach???

Kyle Kustoms in the comment section, there. Does he post here? One of these companies needs to sign him up.
