Am I the only one let down that since he's not giving people the old "Hasbro look", why isn't he just doing 7" figures? Seems almost like a waste of these great signings for a product meant to be nostalgic, but actually isn't. I'm glad Chella offers both styles. I loved Hasbro as a kid and can respect that some people are really into the “retros” that are out there right now. They’re just not for me. I would’ve loved to get a Dino Bravo figure for instance, but if it’s not to scale with today’s figures, it’s a pass for me.

100% -- I really think this would have been better business -- EXCEPT, remember these are already $40 each. Can you imagine how much they'd be if they were 6" in the style of Mattel, etc? Probably at least 60 each

Getting this back on track to the actual FIGURES. Look at Danhausen's arms -- Zombie either hasn't heard or doesn't care about the feedback about the really bad proportions on these. Big mistake if you ask me since otherwise, it looks like a pretty decent figure... It's a cool looking figure no doubt, very toyetic. But dear god are those hands too big! Perfect for my taste. And the resemblance to the Toy Biz Rey jr. is great. In the everything comes down to personal preference.

"They'll fit right in with your Hasbros!"
It's not like Hasbro never took a crack at smaller guys, leaving no frame of reference for how a theoretical Danhausen Hasbro might look. This just ain't it.

I honestly think we all just need to abandon the "fits in with Hasbro's" outlook. This looks nothing like a Hasbro. If Zombie hadn't branded it that way then this would be a great stand alone line. Tagging it with Hasbro's has put people off because they aint Hasbro's.

As I said, had it not been labelled anywhere with the word Hasbro, I think more people would have warmed to it. Tagging anything with Hasbro is an expectation that I honestly don't think will ever be lived up to. I get why, but it was bad marketing for me. Retro figures yes, Hasbro? No. If it had been advertised as a stand alone line without the H word, it would potentially have been doing better I think.

Obviously there are a wealth of corporate reasons why it wouldn't be done, but nobody making "retro/throwback/nostalgia" figure lines is going to directly reference the source inspiration. Collectors don't need that sort of guidance - they'll find their way to what's at hand easily enough, and they'll probably be a lot more accepting of what they get than they're going to be if you piss on their leg, tell them it's raining, and that your retro-throwback-nostalgia product hitting shelves in 2021 is going to be the perfect match for their original collection of said products that hit the shelves prior to 20-whatever.

Totally understand that, I think with the Mattel Retro line we all know what it was based off of, but they never came out and said these will be EXACTLY like Hasbro's. It made a lot of collectors collect them because they were a throwback, in style and carding but they were not body moulded like Hasbro's but gave a lot of people the vibe and made a lot more go all in on the line even if they didn't collect Mattel regularly. Zombie coming out and saying "These will be exactly like Hasbro's", "The closest thing" when in all reality so far they aren't. Had it not been advertised by him that way, it wouldn't have soured older collectors this quickly. I think the figures look great so far, with a few exceptions, but it should have just been the Chella approach and advertised as Retro figures. Hell, it worked for one of the biggest companies in the world and was very successful.

Zombie didn't didn't just "brand" them -- as "they fit in with your Hasbros" -- that was literally his entire selling point of the line (down to getting Rod Rudat to design these, and they saying they were designed by the same person and would all fit together).

Yeah looks waaaay too detailed to be a Hasbro but still a nice figure. Its like if Hasbro and NECA had a baby, it would be these. Not my taste but may be for some! Glad Danhausen is getting some plastic love though!

I'm sorry then, but no ing way do these fit in with Hasbro's. Only thing similar is the scale, there's to much detail for these to sit together. That's why I'm saying, if they hadn't been advertised the way they were then they'd be a great stand alone line with collectors only thinking the scale is similar. Branding them as the closest thing to Hasbro's was dumb.

Super stoked to be getting Danhausen. Very nice! Very evil! Figure looks great! Just hope the rumors of Chella releasing Warhorse are true. So I can display Warhausen together!

I'll be ordering at least 2 Danhausen. 1 MOC to get signed eventually and 1 loose to put right next to all my Hasbros.
It's too bad some of you lack the imagination to what the Hasbro line would have really been like if WWF wasn't in the crapper financially and didn't just do a bunch of repaints in the later years. These are literally coming from the same dude who designed all the figures you love. You don't think he would have done more with the line if they had the budget in the later years? He was told to use so and so's body and make a new head for so many of the later figures. But look at Giant Gonzalez and Skinner. These new figures live in that same world, and just because ZTS doesn't mimic an actual Hasbro pose doesn't mean these don't live in that world. Also, it's 2022. Arguing these need to crappier by adding ugly metal pins and scribbled tattoos to fit in with Hasbros is just stupid. The world evolves and so did these.
P.S. All of the people in this thread who've made it very clear time and time again you aren't purchasing these, and you know who you are, I've blocked you. You guys contribute nothing of value to this thread and are essentially trolls at this point. You can respond. But just know, I'll never ever read your messages again so maybe don't bother wasting your time. Toodles.
