It'll be interesting to see how many die hard WWE fanboys who screamed CM Punk's name for years but sh*t on AEW every chance they get tune in to see their boy (if he signs)? I mean, that’s why he’s (allegedly) signed. The goal is to grow your audience.I’m not gonna run off new viewers (unless they just b*tch about everything. I have little tolerance for that) For sure. There's a huge core of WWE fans though who won't give AEW any credit. No matter what the company does, it's garbage. WWE is king and nothing else matters. There are a lot of WWE fans who think that, but a lot of those same people were the fans CONSTANTLY chanting CM Punk's name for years. It's an interesting "math equation" now. I love CM Punk + I hate AEW = ? What are those fans going to do? All they've done is (very publicly) sh*t on AEW. But now the guy they wanted to see more than anyone else is back, and in AEW. Do they go back on everything they said and watch? Do they act like they didn't say anything and just slide into the fan base? Do they stick to their guns and decide even CM Punk won't change their mind? Closet fans? It's an interesting situation. There are only a small group of (ex) WWE guys who could show up in AEW and draw a very noticeable chunk of WWE's audience. Andrade? Nope. Aleister Black? Nope. Miro? Nope. CM Punk? Yeah, I think so. It might also bring back some Punk fans who gave up on wrestling. Whether these people stick around is questionable, but that initial number or numbers would be very interesting to see.

Which has me more excited about him coming in I'm far more excited about Bryan, but the part about punk coming in that gets me excited is some of the people it's going to piss off 😂. There are some crazy Punk matches no one would ever have expected to see though. And you wanna talk about elevation home grown talent, the guys that punk and Bryan put over when the time is right, man. Instant star credibility. They should have Bryan Danielson come in through the crowd, interrupt a match, get on the mic and say "You people know who I am, but you dont know why Im here...". And then Punk shows up later.

Now there’s speculation on Brock. Even if there’s no smoke there, this is such an exciting time to be a wrestling fan.
I hope VKM gets scared and does everything possible to make WWE watchable again.

The Khans have more money than VKM. It’s possible. I know that. I just dont see Brock doing anything else in wrestling. Its WWE or bust for him. It’s money or bust for Brock. He’s a mercenary, I don’t think he would bat an eye at leaving WWE (he has before) if the pay is better elsewhere. For the people that have never seen true competition in wrestling, I hope you’re starting to understand why having a WCW around was such a must, even as a WWE fan. When WWE wants to mail it in but they’re the only wrestling in town, you have no choice but to watch them and clearly that’s been the case. The population of wrestling fans has gradually declined, but they still garner the majority of who’s left to watch their programming. With an alternative it’s like, ok…you wanna treat your workers like crap, they’ve now got someplace else to go. You wanna treat your fans like crap, they’ve now got someplace else to go. And with AEW working with IMPACT, New Japan, GCW etc…they aren’t only increasing their own stock, they’re elevating the stock of the industry. All the crops are nourished now, not just their own. WWE has provided us with the best entertainment wrestling can offer for many many years, but at the cost of everybody else. The wrestling industry as a whole died so WWE could flourish, so much so that they don’t even call it the “wrestling industry” anymore. They’re afraid nobody will know what that is since it’s nearly extinct.

I get the skepticism and trepidation around Brock but the potential of Lesnar vs. Darby is something I want to see very badly.

Not a credible source, I just think the Punk/Danielson signings are whipping people into a frenzy.

I think they are moving at a great stride right now, all the signings are in character for what AEW is, I don’t know how I feel about Brock potentially coming in. I mean, it would be big news, the attention would be interesting for the company, but work wise, Brock has to be a wrestler again and now just do German suppleness for 4 minutes and then an F5. If we got 2002 Brock, that would be interesting. I don’t know that they need to sign somebody like Lesnar though, I think he would just mess up the hierarchy of talent.

If I had that kind of money, I’d bring in Brock no questions asked. I wouldn’t belt him up, but I’d have him be an attraction for sure. Imagine the rub a young guy like Wardlow would get for beating Brock!

We know how Mox feels about their WM32 letdown, and im curious if anyone else on the roster would hold any reservations about potentially working with him. If it’s just a retread of “Suplex city,” I can see a lot of resentment from talent and fans. If it was 2002/2003 Brock who brings his work-boots with him, then we got something.

Foolish as it is to plan out such absurdities, if TK is itching to bring in Lesnar get him on a trial run first. Give him a check per appearance and see how he fits in. Then you're not gonna alienate some in the locker room who don't appreciate being upstaged by a diva long term at worst, and relight something within Brocky Boi at best.

That’s kinda the perspective I’m seeing it from too and causing the conflicting. On one hand, yea if it’s 2002 Brock, who I consider the most freak athlete, probably the best all around athlete on the planet at that time. If that Brock still exists and can just be a monster heel, almost like a boss character of AEW that puts out more than just 5 minute simplex matches (simplex was a typo but it’s actually a perfectly descriptive word so I’m leaving it). I’d be at the very least interested to see how that all plays out. What concerns me is that all of AEW signings so far have all been modest Legends. Somebody like Sting I consider a Legend of Legends but he’s an exception because he has spent his career working for the little guy, so there’s really no ego there. Everyone they’ve brought in is about in the same ballpark and they’re all team players. Brock is a bit of a Diva, and he’s definitely not a team player. I just don’t know that he’s a good fit for that company, I definitely don’t want anybody disrupting the chemistry they all have. IDK, I can’t say it wouldn’t intrigue me, I just don’t know that I would trade in the hand of cards they have to take a chance on that one.
