I honestly don't care if people want to buy this just to sell it later. It's readily available for anyone to back right now so if someone changes their mind later and ends up paying more later oh well. As for newer collectors it's part of the game for wanting something no longer available. It's why I will never have an Akeem, Martel or Bundy.

On Bill Miekina's instagram, he showed the prototype of the New Generation Entrance with the LED lights, it looks pretty cool!

I 100% rather this not get made and none of those pieces ever see the light of day then scalpers be the only reason this gets funded. This should be a hobby of fans and collectors not scalpers So people who become fans and collectors after this 30 day period (or can't afford it at the moment) should not be able to purchase it on the secondary market? There's not a limited number of these sets, so "scalping" is a totally useless thing to care about. You can't control what other people decide to do with their money. People can do whatever they want but this thread has turned into people coming on here gloating that they are buying this just because it’s going to be worth so much money and they can’t wait to resell it later. Same people that aren’t realizing that roughly 40 to 50% of the sales price is going to Ebay and Uncle Sam.

The people buying 5-10 of these to resell on EBay are the reason this will get made in the first place. You should be thanking them. I 100% rather this not get made and none of those pieces ever see the light of day then scalpers be the only reason this gets funded. This should be a hobby of fans and collectors not scalpers There's a difference in scalpers and people investing in something (that there’s infinite of) to resell later.

I just bought my 3rd one. One to open, one to keep MOC, and one to possibly sell 5+ years from now. I won't be able to buy anymore since I have to have money for college (leaving in two weeks). I hope this gets backed as I like everything about this set. I only had one full scale ring two years ago, but when I stopped collecting over a year ago I sold my whole collection and I miss having a ring. The LED entrance is something I could only dream of as a kid back in 2008. The Macho man figure is the only reason I backed 3 though, so good job by Mattel. If there was never a Macho man figure, I would have only backed 1 set. My only wish is that the Diesel figure comes with a championship belt.
If this set is funded, Mattel should do a voting system for future crowdfunding ideas to see what is popular to make. If it works for fan takeover figures, I think it would be successful for crowdfunding as well.

Ask yourself an honest question, how many NEW collectors are gonna have a big interest on something New Gen, when even amongst current collectors who have probably been collecting for years it has fairly low interest. A lot of them. I've sold this set to people who watched back then that DIDN’T collect Mattel’s at all. Stop doubting the campaign. Here’s your honest answers: I'm not even sure what any of that proved about what I said regarding new Gen. The only thing remotely relevant was about reselling the ring for $500. New Gen is going to mostly appeal to people 30+ so I cant imagine many people in their 30/40s just beginning to start collecting.

Going to grab at least one more.
The entrance stage is extremely underrated.

If this gets to 5k and gets backed. price and demand will start to increase once its closed and you have a confirmed order. Happens ALL the time. Just wait till they show the items MOC a couple months down the line... I am a fan and a collector. I am also not a fool. If I can make a buck by being smart and waiting over a year for a return then I will do it

Im quite curious as to how this will actually be packed. We know the figures will come in their own packages but I can honestly see everything in just a giant white box with a WWE logo and some minor details on it much like the old white box Legends figures.

Tgey said everything is boxed individually and then put together in a group box. So like a loot crate, but actually good.

Sounds like they want to do something better than that.

If this gets funded, I have ZERO doubt the Ultimates in this set will individually sell for 150+ a year (or sooner) from now. Doink would probably be 200+ if he ends up getting unlocked. Collectors are funny that way. They won’t pay retail for a figure they’re on the fence about… but tell them it isn’t available anymore and they break the bank for it. On a project like this… exclusive Ultimates behind a timed paywall? If people don’t get sucked in by the FOMO, they’ll drown in the ocean of remorse and pay five times over for that life jacket. That ing clown will fund the buy in price on this whole set a year from now. And Nash’s first Ultimate? Gosh. Look what his first elites did when they went off the market. Sheeeeeit. I love you.
Here's my thinking on the "re-sell" subject:
Anyone willing to pay *ANY* sort of inflated secondary market price for any portion of this product....Would be the type of person *well aware of the project* and ready to fork over the $250 to hop on while it's being crowd-funded.
Why would anyone pay $100-$250 for a Doink Ultimate on the secondary market, when the only people willing to pay that high of a price...WOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN IN THE CROWD-FUND!? You'll be hard-pressed to find someone who didn't know about the Doink available with the crowd-fund, that is willing to pay a high markup on him.
Same goes for Diesel and Macho. If people buying these on eBay are CLEARLY avid collectors....then chances are, a massive % of them are in the crowd-fund. Why pay $100- $250 for an Ultimate in a year when you can get the whole ring package for virtually the same price?
The only people willing to pay any kind of marked-up price, are the ones simply unaware of the crowd-fund when it was live....and again, the type of person *unaware of the project* is very likely to be someone disinterested in inflated prices. So that mostly cancels itself out.
The re-sell idea is not a good one. These aren't going for a markup any time soon after release. Plan on waiting years if you have sights set on getting $400+ for this thing.
Because a lot of people are financially hard up right now and can’t afford $250 on toys. Do you have any idea how many small businesses shut down for good in 2020 in the U.S. alone? Maybe they don’t have the money right now but maybe they will in the future. How many people on these forums have posted about selling off their collection only to come back and need to buy back things they sold or missed out on? And there are new collectors every year. 30 days is a small window for a product with no advertising outside of podcasts and forums that most people don’t know about.

I don’t really care about the reselling/scalper stuff, but the general logic here makes no sense. Anyone whose a big enough wrestling fan get into heavily collecting figures will likely care about collecting figures form before “their time”, especially bands as big as Savage and Nash. You think the only people buying 80s figures are 40-50 year olds?
