I was thinking back to what sold me on this (if I was able to back it). It was Steve pointing out how this arena really goes from the tail end of the Golden Era to the start of the Attitude Era. Now I’m wondering if this would already be way past 5k if it was branded as an Ultimate Legends Arena as opposed to an Ultimate New Gen Arena. Broader appeal and opens up more options for stronger figures than Diesel (not knocking Diesel since I personally would have been excited for him). Just thinking “Legends” or “Old School” would have caught more attention and not turned off people who automatically say no to New Gen

Finally caved. Theres a decent amount of time between now and the finish line that most people still have another pay check between now and then. The Macho Man commentary set early bird special was enough to convince me to cave this week and not next week.

A lot of them. I've sold this set to people who watched back then that DIDN’T collect Mattel’s at all. Stop doubting the campaign. Here’s your honest answers: I'm not even sure what any of that proved about what I said regarding new Gen. The only thing remotely relevant was about reselling the ring for $500. New Gen is going to mostly appeal to people 30+ so I cant imagine many people in their 30/40s just beginning to start collecting. All three of them don't collect, they either stopped watching a long time ago or still watch but didn't follow the Mattel figs. It shows that you were being small minded and thought NEW collectors wouldn't be interested when I showed you they are. Move along tho! |

Move along tho! what are you even talking about. the only thing even mentioned in that screenshot was that the guy bought an nwo Cena and that you pushed the ring as something he can resell in a few years to get him interested. Nothing about that addresses the actual content of the set, all you've done is convince "new collectors" to buy something with the intent of reselling, that's not genuine interest for what the actual product is. |

On the Turnbuckle Tavern Podcast, Robert stated:- Doink will not be dropped down to 5k. This is the package for the New Gen Arena. They got creative to be able to add Macho.
- He expects the campaign to succeed with two big pushes, one this Friday and next weeks push for Doink. If Macho gets them to 60-65%, they'll be in good shape (when they recorded this podcast they were in the 40% range.)
- The Funeral Parlor, Snake Pit and Pipers Pit are some ideas that were thrown around for what COULD be next. He got really excited about the prospect of what they could present with the Funeral Parlor - like an updated Bearer and Mattel's take on a coffin.
- It's looking as if Ultimate Macho Man WMX will be in the 1 of 3000-4000 range. They make significantly more than that, even for exclusives.
Folks are questioning what's the incentive to keeping buying after the Macho exclusive ends and it's Doink. And judging by some replies in this thread, it's a figure a lot of people want. Also people are forgetting, the 15th is a payday. Folks who can't afford to pick it up now still have an opportunity to push this towards Doink next week. This Macho Man will be our grail figure.

I've been tracking its progress over the past couple of days. I figure it lands right around 3500 (maybe 3700-3800 if it get a run at the end) when the Macho Man promo finishes. So that leaves us 1200-1500 short of funding. I'm not sure that this will have the legs after that to be able to make it to 5K. I do hope some sort of additional promo is in the works, I'd hate to see it land at 4200 also and finish there. I'm guessing bringing Doink forward to 5K is off the table as I believe it was mentioned he had a new torso tooling. I still think a simple repaint of another Ultimate would finish it out. I'd be all for a Wrestlemania 9 Bret Hart. I think the jacket etc. for the last Ultimate would work and then just a repaint in all pink pretty much. Probably wishful thinking, but I've backed this twice, I want it to see the light of day. Would make for a very exciting build up over the next 10 months also.

Macho will ship separate no matter what, from what i heard. That way they can make rings with Diesel (and maybe Doink), but Macho will go with the orders that made the early promo deal. |

Partly because I haven't got the original Ultimate. Rumble 94 Bret would be my pick. It'd make an excellent Ultimate! It seems the most feasible way to get a "late backer" incentive |

I will be a little disappointed if we don't see Doink. It's still a great package, and with Macho a great value for money. But knowing we could have had more and it being potentially the best figure of the 3 will be a bittersweet feeling the day everything is in your hands.
I'm not really fussed about the ringskirts, but that Doink. Man is that a work of art.
