Announcing the stretch goals before they hit their initial target was also a mistake. This thing becomes devalued in a lot of people’s mind if they’re not getting Doink. Wouldn’t have been an issue had it never been mentioned until 5K was hit. Wait until you reach that number and it becomes extra incentive to get more backers instead of having people wanting everything or nothing. I'm only really familiar with crowd funding in the form of Kickstarters where announcing all of your stretch goals as part of the initial pitch is pretty traditional. |

The amount of copeium in the idea that they are lying when they say if this fails we won't be getting anything is unreal. If they say that and then do something else they look like liars, not everything is a 4D chess marketing strat. This will be the *second* time Mattel has tried an online offering targeted at adult wrestling figure collectors and the last time it failed they killed the line for years and refused to ever go out of their way to sign people to figure deals again. Why on god's green earth would you think for a second that if this fails they would try a third time and that their reaction to failing again would be any less drastic than the last time.

They made some big mistakes (not capitalising on initial hype by putting it up for order when it was announced, immediate payments and not having Macho from the start) but the contents of the package on sale right now are not an issue. |

What’s with the people coming in here several weeks after this has started to say the same things they have said already about why they aren’t backing it? We get it you aren’t interested….stop trying to sabotage and sway others not to participate. Let it go! Some of you people treat Mattel like they are your ex’s that did you dirty or something.

None of that has any relevance to the idea that they will try again after failing a second time. Why this failed won't matter to the decision makers at Mattel and we've seen that first hand with the Matty Collector Legends line. If this fails it comes to a point where collectors have to be honest with themselves and come to terms that the majority of us aren't willing to support high end collectables no matter the value or offering. |

Not to mention they've already made 2 NWO Machos so including that would lead to some groaning I'm sure. Also since people wanna talk about what they would have supported, if it were a Nitro or Attitude Era ring I would have had zero interest in it. |

I’ve just signed up to say I have backed this! Looks a great set, hopefully it reaches the target.
I only just got back into collecting wresting figures, usually I collect hot toys but with Punk returning (hopefully) and Bray Wyatt leaving WWE I decided to get back in. Ordered a few figures last week, got more to come soon.
I only stumbled across this from this thread, thankfully got in before the Macho deadline.

It has gained about 100 backers in the last 2.5 hours….really starting to pick up steam! I think it gets to 3200 by midnight tonight and could see a little over 4K by the time the macho man promo expires tomorrow! I don’t think Doink is realistic unless a company buys up the extra…..However I do think we are going to hit 5k
