I kind of hope it can make it just because I have fear that if this fails then the potential for future projects go down the drain. I would have loved for a WCW entrance way/ arena, a real scale modern Elimination Chamber/ Hell in a Cell, a customizable stage. So yeah I hope it does get funded so they can deliver on more projects down the road.

I'm planning to back as well, but with 30 days of time I'm going to wait a bit. Hope it makes the 7.000 at least. Once it reaches the higher backers and more and more stuff become included the price doesn't seem soo bad any more. $250 for the basic seems a little high to me, but with at least Doink included I feel it's somewhat worth it! Wonder what else could be included if it reached 9 or 10.000.

What does not getting the slaughter have to do with the crowdfunding project? Because he’s choosing to buy it on the secondary market? That’s a choice he has. He also has the option of backing the project. Any time a person makes a purchase it comes down to a choice. Spend the money on item A or something else. Crowdfunding shines a light on who is going to make that commitment. That guy may never have been willing to commit to the 250 or he was but only under certain conditions. A company doesn’t run their business hoping that all the conditions are optimal so that they can make a profit. There’s too much risk in that. Crowdfunding or made to order are the only ways a product like this would ever be made. And it ain’t looking good so far… Crowdfunding isn’t the only way. Jakks released 3 different retro WWF scale rings at retail (technically one was a rerelease with a Hogan and Piper figure) and I believe they sold pretty well. And Wicked Cool Toys released a retro WWF conversion kit for their scale ring and it sold like crazy. Look how quickly the AEW scale ring sold out. Mattel could have easily made a retro scale ring and sold it exclusively through boutique online retailers like RSC and the other online retailers that sell nerd exclusives. Put a $150 price tag on the ring/entrance combo and it’ll be sold out everywhere in 6 months. The K-Mart exclusive entrance stage from 2012 retailed at $50. It was significantly bigger and had action features and sounds. So you’re issue is the value for the price? Unfortunately the consumer didn’t get to name or negotiate the price. Mattel is in the business of making a profit. They aren’t producing thing solely to please consumers. They’re fulfilling a consumer request but at a margin that makes it worth their while.

The guy only has so much budgeted for collectibles. He now has to spend 3-4 times what he planned so he can get an item that sold out immediately. Due to this, his budget is now significantly lower, which is now not enough to back a large crowdfunding project like this. The guy doesn’t have endless money to buy collectibles, and he has prioritized his money elsewhere due to secondary market prices on an item that could’ve easily been a 24 hour made to order item that would’ve sold tons. You just paraphrased exactly what I said. You’re not making the connection between how his personal priorities have anything to do with Mattel. Do you want them to make the toys free so he never is caught in this dilemma again?

Almost 24 hours later, and less than 750 backers as of right now. Not good. It's up for 30 days and at 15% already in less than 24 hours. I might be in the minority, but I feel like that's a good thing. We know this is a niche product, and not a scalper's target, so did we expect it to reach the goal in a few days? Also, a lot of members on here have already stated they will wait until the end nears to purchase since the full amount of money is withdrawn up front. Yeah 15% within 24 hours is good imo. There’s 29 more days left, which allows more people to contemplate purchasing it or gather funds to do so. These people need to chill, they’re acting like it ends tomorrow with only 15% backing so far lol. I don’t know if it will hit 5k, I’m just saying we’ll just have to wait and see.

There's been other projects up and at much better 24 hours in than way less than 1K. I hope it achieves the goal, but it's not looking great right now.

Mattel should make the toys more readily and widely available so collectors can buy them at reasonable retail prices and not scalper markups. If Mattel did this, collectors would have more income to spend with them.

The tone of this thread indicates to me that figures being made in the style of the ultimate editions is not a selling point for many of you. People are talking about the abundance of diesels and doinks, ignoring the fact that they are a totally different style of figure. For the record, I don’t think that doink will ever see the light of day if this project doesn’t get funded. Look at the caliber of talent they’ve made in this style. I doubt if even rsc would take the chance on ordering him as an exclusive knowing they’d have to put a $40+ price tag on him.

Guys, it's not good. I've ordered the Barge, the Razor Crest, and most recently Galactus, which sold about 7,000 units in 24 hours at a cost of $430ish shipped. This needs to be at around 40-50% backed by Monday, and that seems virtually impossible. Maybe it'll go a bit differently because Mattel is charging in real time, like a bunch of idiots, and I do expect there to be a bigger push at the end, but this is going to limp across the 5k finish line, assuming it can even get to that point. Which means no Doink, and, most disappointing for me, no skirts. I'm guessing some of the people who are waiting to order don't want to spend the money at all without Doink and/or the skirts. Those people likely never end up ordering based on how this is going so far. I have quite a bit of commentary on why this entire thing has gone poorly already. Maybe I'll get into that when it's all over. I ing love Diesel. He's driving my love for this project. But I'm a New Gen kid who has sentimental feelings towards that entranceway, and somewhat towards that ring that I don't need and absolutely won't display without those other ring skirts. I 100% want this to get made. Do I think this would have done better with Razor or Shawn as a tier over Doink? Absof*ckinglutely. Ladders, maybe an announce table, a bucket and chair? Yes. I think Mattel overshot their value, or rather perceived value, and I also think people can math. 2 million made off of two figures, a ring and an entrance piece?

Typically speaking these sorts of things are front loaded. It’s going to be a slow crawl up over the next month after that first kind of 24 hour period. Aside from potentially at the end (if it hits its goal it is close to it). It should be at least 50% by now if we had any hope of seeing Doink.

I don’t know if this gets backed or not, but I don’t think looking at where it stands in comparison to Marvel and Star Wars stuff is apt. This brands and collector bases are much larger. I feel like any WWE project, even potential cheaper stuff, is going to come down to the wire much more often.

So yeah I hope it does get funded so they can deliver on more projects down the road. The thing is that these are all items that don’t need to be crowd funded. These could all be sold individually and do well. If Jazwares can do an AEW ring with a figure for $110, Mattel can do this ring with a figure for $140 or $150. Diesel would sell as a regular Ultimate. I’d buy it. The stage could be packaged with one of the smaller rings for like $40 or $50. There really isn’t much too that stage. This would probably seem like a better value if they changed the tiers to include a cage and/or commentary table. Maybe even increase the backers needed to maintain the same profit margin. The pieces in the set are really nice, but the price misses the mark even if all tiers are met. I’m not so sure a WWE line really has anything that needs to be crowdfunded. It feels a little like this is crowdfunding for the sake of crowdfunding. Maybe, there can be a debate to crowdfund larger stages, but even those have been done plenty before without crowdfunding. I just feel like there are other options that are comparable and cheaper.

This is going much the same way.

No, they need to make more of their 30 second sellout exclusives for future releases so that people don’t have to choose between scalper prices or backing the one shot we have at ever producing a crowdfunding campaign.

Crunching the numbers here:
5,000 backers (5,000 ÷ 30) equals approx. 167 orders per day.
7,000 backers (7,000 ÷ 30) equals approx. 233 orders per day.
8,000 backers (8,000 ÷ 30) equals approx. 267 orders per day.
Currently, the project sits at 763 backers.
So, for 5,000 backers, it's currently ahead by 596 orders (approx. 5 days at 167 orders per day)
For 7,000 backers, it's currently ahead by 530 orders (approx. 3 days at 233 orders per day)
And for 8,000 backers, it's currently ahead by 496 orders (approx. 3 days at 267 orders per day)
So I'd say we're off to a pretty good start so far - you can't really compare WWE with Star Wars or Marvel, they're in a league of their own.

But you're not going to have a proportional number of backers per day. There tend to be surges at launch and when a stretch goal nears or is reached. We have no idea where this lands. But I don't think current numbers were the start they wanted.
