Crunching the numbers here: 5,000 backers (5,000 ÷ 30) equals approx. 167 orders per day. 7,000 backers (7,000 ÷ 30) equals approx. 233 orders per day. 8,000 backers (8,000 ÷ 30) equals approx. 267 orders per day. Currently, the project sits at 763 backers. So, for 5,000 backers, it's currently ahead by 596 orders (approx. 5 days at 167 orders per day) For 7,000 backers, it's currently ahead by 530 orders (approx. 3 days at 233 orders per day) And for 8,000 backers, it's currently ahead by 496 orders (approx. 3 days at 267 orders per day) So I'd say we're off to a pretty good start so far - you can't really compare WWE with Star Wars or Marvel, they're in a league of their own. I think this will probably fund, but there’s an added piece that your math is leaving out. Your numbers work assuming there’s a consistent number of orders each day. Typically, these types of campaigns have spikes around the first day and the last week. A lot of times, the biggest spikes are even in the last 12 hours or so. In the middle of the campaign, there will be a plateau. Fir example, the current Galactus. Day 1 reached almost 6k backers I believe. It’s currently sitting around 8k.

Today’s backers are already significantly less than just the first few hours of yesterday’s were. I’d like to hope this gets funded all the way to 7k but I really think Mattel has ed up purely on the taking the money straight away stipulation they nonsensically added

But you're not going to have a proportional number of backers per day. There tend to be surges at launch and when a stretch goal nears or is reached. We have no idea where this lands. But I don't think current numbers were the start they wanted. Oh, I know that - I'm just using the above as an example. Indeed, to do it accurately you would need to proportion % based on early adopters and how people order these things I do think the pay now, see if funded later is a mistake and they should do the usual crowd funding model but that’s just an opinion

I don’t know if this gets backed or not, but I don’t think looking at where it stands in comparison to Marvel and Star Wars stuff is apt. This brands and collector bases are much larger. I feel like any WWE project, even potential cheaper stuff, is going to come down to the wire much more often. Feel free to go back and research the Haslab Cookie Monster. This is going much the same way. I’m familiar with it. Like I said, I don’t know if this gets funded or not, but I just don’t think any high-end WWE product is going to pull the Star Wars/Marvel-level 50% in a day, funded almost immediately trick. Anything outside of close to retail price figures is going to come down close to the wire.

I’ve been on the fence about this since it was announced and I still am. I have the $$$ ready to go as well. I basically decided I’d wait and see how it goes. If they fund it to get the extra tiers then I’d definitely go in.
BUT…….
The asking price is way too high, the perks aren’t mind blowing in any capacity, I don’t like them collecting the amount now and refunding if it isn’t funded, and I hate that you have to basically wait a year for it. I’d also appreciate a potential for future additions. Maybe a cage, more ring skirts, etc to come would be nice. But a $250 investment in something they may never add accessories for? That’s making me want to avoid it altogether.

For as much as they've talked about this package, Bill and Steve haven't really said much of substance.

I just can't believe they think a Diesel figure is supposed to entice me to buy it. I don't care if it's a UE. They've already made multiple Elite Diesel's and they all look very similar due to him wearing very similar gear as Diesel. And then the next perk is Doink? Come on. They have to do better than these two figures. It's the New Generation Era. Do a Shawn and Bret, or Razor, or something.

I'm no expert in sales, but the only way I could see this being a garunteed hit on the first tier is to have a FTITL figure instead of Diesel.

I think they should be using Mattel Creation to release figures or sets that won't sell in retail and Ringside aren't confident to do exclusives of but at a lower price point.
Like Imperium and other lower level NXT & NXT UK guys.
As far as sets go, things that aren't $250. Maybe max of $125. Maybe sell the ring on Ringside and then you sell an entrance way and specific ring skirts on Mattel Creations. Like In Your House entrance way and IYH ring skirts. Raw is War entrance way and Raw is War ring skirts. That way you don't have to buy the ring if you don't want to.

Probably right, but what FTITL could anchor this package? Should of went a Shawn Michaels instead of Doink because you gave Michaels completists out there who would just have to buy it.

I've seen this point made, opening this up for crowd funding a week after Hasbro put Galactus wasn't the wisest move.

Unfortunately there aren't many Newgen names you could do. A few tag teams (Smoking Guns, Headshrinkers, The Godwins) or maybe Savio Vega. But none are exactly big names. Something like The The Gobbledy Gooker would be a great fit for this type of product.
