I'm curious when the shop will place the order This could be a really interesting wildcard. If this in fact happens, we could see the number pop up almost instantly. But are we talking about 20 sets or 200? |

If Doink gets made a lot of people are gonna have to eat some crow...hell this thing making it to 5k will do that especially. Mattel deserves huge credit here, imo. Pivoting to add Macho absolutely saved this project. Without that, we're probably still somewhere around 2k right now and most people have given up on this project. Steve, Bill, and Rob all deserve major credit for doing more appearances on podcasts, IG live, etc than I can remember them doing in an entire year normally. I'm far from Mattel's biggest fan, but these guys really went above and beyond to make this happen. I'm definetly not their biggest supporter either but I though this project was awesome from the start and I'm glad to see what they can do when they really want something to be a success. Genuinely I feel like this project was made for me, I was thinking of getting a ring for my New Gen collection and then this popped up, I don't have a Diesel yet, I was about to buy the reteofest Macho for it and I don't have a Doink. It's perfect for me lol. |

Dream big I guess. 8k backers for ringskirts was a lofty goal. I wonder there reasoning behind making ringskirts the last tier. There's definitely a snowball effect if/when items come close to a tier incentive. There will be people who were on the fence who jump in if they see another tier added, or folks who are who buy additional sets if it looks like there's more resale value being added. If we get there, I think you'll see numbers jumping a lot faster right around 5k, and the same thing from 6k to 7k. Yeah I absolutely see that reasoning for Doink since its another ultimate edition figure, the ringskirts are another story. I remember two years ago that ringside sold elite scale WCW and NWO ringskirts for $7.99 I think. It makes sense for a store/customer to buy all the rings they want to buy today since they'll maximize profit with the Macho fig. If this comes close to the next tier today (around 6k+ ) I see it crawling to Doink for the next 8 days after, then one big final push on the last day due to FOMO. I don't see many people wanting to buy another ring to just get ringskirts (since the Macho offer would be over) included even though the value is there. Mattel probably should have made the ringskirts at 6k. |

Steve confirmed Doink isn’t being moved, made or thrown in if this doesn’t reach 7k.
He did say it MIGHT be made as an elite in a couple of years if it doesn’t get made here but no way would we be getting the awesome Matt borne sculpts and the coat (especially with that inside lining detail and things like the ‘real’ buttons). I’ll be happy if this gets made at 5k but I think as a community we’ve come this far, we really should be getting that Doink and maximising Value.
I know a few people who have said ‘I’m thinking of buying 2 or 3 if Doink gets made…I think those people need to jump off the fence and get those now, maximise your value and get the extra Macho’s too! I know there will be some feeling this way, will wait until middle of next week and FOMO will strike and they’ll buy a second or third piece and not end up with the Macho.
Also, for U.K. people, I’m not saying this is a cheap item and I get everyone is different but for those U.K. guys on the fence, it will be especially painful trying to get this on second hand market if/when the exchange rate changes…at the moment it’s a huge difference for us vs if this was made 12/18 months back…I know someone who backed 2 and it’s cost £396 including shipping vs US guys paying $550 or whatever. You’re not losing money at that price, it’s only going to be a good investment.

Those people really just don't understand how crowdfunding works. People not backing until they reach a stretch goal is going to be the reason the stretch goal isn't hit. People have said it already but if everyone who was waiting for Doink to back just went ahead and did it we'd probably have Doink by now. |

More accurate term would be Flipper. Scalping involves buying up the entire supply of something to create more scarcity and drive up costs. This is an open pre order, everyone has an equal opportunity to purchase as many as they want. Not the same kinda guy who goes into Target and buys up every legend and chase just to stick them on ebay by any stretch. |

I just simply can’t afford it and it sucks. My credit cards are almost maxed and they don’t accept PayPal so I can’t use PayPal Credit. I set up a PayPal Key and was able to pay with my PayPal balance. (Though heads up, I had to call PayPal customer service to confirm to them I was making the purchase). Yeah I know about PayPal Key, but it unfortunately won’t let you set it to come from PayPal Credit |
