Here's the reason I'm not buying this:
1. I don't trust Mattel Creations after Matty Collector
2. I did the pre-order crowdfunding to Castle Grayskull for Matty Collector. That was not cheap. The Classics Castle Grayskull later went on sale on Matty Collector's site for $156. It felt like a kick in the groin. I didn't feel rewarded for crowdfunding Castle Grayskull.
3. I don't feel comfortable putting down $250 up front
4. Frankly, the people running WWE Mattel have made a lot of false promises they haven't lived up to. If you want me to plunk down $250 right now, I need more. I need more assurances and I need better communication that's more transparent. Bill, Steve and Mattel have failed at that.

You’ve been complaining about them for like a year. So you either still give them your money despite them being so bad, or you don’t buy their products and just complain because you have no real hobbies. Either way. |

Doesn’t change the fact that people only have so much room and need for rings. Maybe you don’t have room or a need but whether or not people do remains to be seen. And the same can be said about the barge unicron galactus thunder tank etc. And all funded. Now how Mattel has set this sale up is suspect but there is a definite need for the ring. Different fanbases |

man that stage looks more awesome every time i look at it.   The stage is great. The ring is what’s overpricing this thing and no one really needs another ring, but people really want the entrance way and Ultimate figures. They should’ve just done the entrance way and figures, not the ring. Speak for yourself. I want the ring the most. I could go either way on the entrance. I don’t like Ultimate figures. I didn’t even buy that Walmart exclusive Doink because I had the first Doink and 1 is enough for me. |

That’s fine that you want the ring the most, however, they’ve clearly pieced a bunch of items together that has now caused an overpriced crowdfunding campaign. They should’ve sold all these pieces separately instead of packaging things together that would deter people from backing it for one reason or another. If you don’t want the ring, you aren’t backing it. If you don’t want the stage, you aren’t backing it. |

Crowdfunding isn’t the only way. Jakks released 3 different retro WWF scale rings at retail (technically one was a rerelease with a Hogan and Piper figure) and I believe they sold pretty well. And Wicked Cool Toys released a retro WWF conversion kit for their scale ring and it sold like crazy. Look how quickly the AEW scale ring sold out. Mattel could have easily made a retro scale ring and sold it exclusively through boutique online retailers like RSC and the other online retailers that sell nerd exclusives. Put a $150 price tag on the ring/entrance combo and it’ll be sold out everywhere in 6 months. The K-Mart exclusive entrance stage from 2012 retailed at $50. It was significantly bigger and had action features and sounds. So you’re issue is the value for the price? Unfortunately the consumer didn’t get to name or negotiate the price. Mattel is in the business of making a profit. They aren’t producing thing solely to please consumers. They’re fulfilling a consumer request but at a margin that makes it worth their while. My point was crowdfunding wasn’t the only way to sell this. You said it was. I was countering that point. |

This bugs me a little because New Gen is a weird place to start at. It was historically a low point in the wrestling business where WWF was limping along financially. So it terms of nostalgia, it has less of a market because it had less of an audience at that time. Diesel is a weird figure to pick because we’ve had 3 of them already and WWF business was the worst in the 90s while he was the WWF Champion, so we wasn’t bringing in a ton of business at the time. So logically there will be less fans than other eras. BUT I may be wrong and maybe the New Gen has the strongest collectors base. An attitude era set would probably be easier to fund because the wrestling product was so hot during that time period. Probably an Attitude Era Vince McMahon or Mankind with brown tights and dress shirt would be a better figure. I think the profit margin would be smaller because of a Titan Tron and stage versus the New Gen entrance, though. I didn’t watch wrestling during the New Gen so I have no nostalgic feelings about this, but I still want it because I’m a ring nut. But I can’t afford it right now. So I’m happy it’s not something I’d have more nostalgia for. But I feel like maybe this is the first campaign because Bill is a big New Gen fan and if it doesn’t fund, it doesn’t matter because he’ll keep the prototype. So he wins no matter what. It’s a conspiracy! |

I also think they package deal will be too high for many consumers. |

All I have for Adam Bomb is the Jakks fig, but I’d love one in scale. He’d look awesome. One of my sleeper favorites as far as wrestlers go, loved Bomb, Loved all versions of Wrath. I wish they’d make the Creation of Devastation, yes please! |

I just collect figs to put on a shelf so not interested, but the ring and stage are cool and I hope it gets funded. If not I hope that doink sees the light of the day somewhere down the line.
