So I went to cancel since this isn’t even gonna get close to 5k and guess what? You can’t cancel. So Mattel is holding my money hostage for a month. Great. Wouldn’t be so bad if I was actually able to order something I wanted that was supposed to get put up for order/pre order. Its right on their page where you order how to cancel

Only thing I saw was you cannot cancel an order but you can return. I’ll look into that then. Thanks At this point, I’d rather just have my money back.

I wish it was just Doink, Nash and the entrance stage for $100. The ring is a cool item but I feel like it’s a big part of the problem with this set. I don’t think a lot of people want another ring, and it’s adding to the really high price point which is really unattractive.
People would’ve been really happy with just the add ons.

If it doesn’t reach 5,000 by the end of the month, you get your refund. Most of this thread is in discussion with it being a reason a lot of people haven’t backed it yet.

I wish it was just Doink, Nash and the entrance stage for $100. That’d definitely be more than $100 though. 2 exclusive UE figures at probably $40/each. That entrance isn’t going to be $20

I guess not, since you attempted to refund your money now and seemed surprised that you weren’t able to. You’re locked in at $250. I’m sure even before backing/pledging, it tells you that there’s no cancelations/refunds until the project has run it’s 30 days and is unsuccessful at reaching its goal.

All I know is if this gets backed, even at Tier 1, Im gonna be set. Im getting 3 of these and 2 to poach the crapout of next year or so to make the money back on the one I keep next year.

you know, if people actually tried to be positive, provide constructive solutions or suggestions, instead of just complaining about every stupid little detail
maybe people at mattel, or some of the other members of the wrestling figure collecting community who are actually legit on other forms of social media, have tons of followers, etc. wouldn't look at this place as some kind of joke cesspool full of whiny babies.
and instead actually use their influence, etc to HELP this board.

Here’s my methodology: Given the last ring and figure combo was about $100, going up to $250 for the cloth skirts, turnbuckles, details and entrance isn’t a huge ask. But here’s my problem - this is very era specific. New Generation ran from approximately WrestleMania 8 to Survivor Series 1997. OK, so then to justify something so big, I’ll need figures that fit that era and that era only. The good news is I have a few and some upcoming releases do as well. But the ratio of availability of current to New Generation is unbalanced. I would argue that to support, Mattel should either do a whole New Generation wave or plan a New Generation character in every wave from the ship date of the ring forward at minimum. Speaking for myself, I’ll sit tight until just before the close date. Want to see if any stretch goals are achieved especially. I’m interested, but not sold. Yet. Yeah New Generation is affectionately known as the "wrestlecrap" era and was a low point for WWE. I maintain it was an odd choice to introduce the first crowd funding campaign with this era of wrestling. Any other era, with roughly the same stuff, for $250 and I don't think you see this problem. Too true. I took a break on WWE between Wrestlemania X and 12 (was busy with high school) so a lot of this is a bit of a hole to me. Now I gotta worry about finding Kama if this gets funded. The hunt never ends.

I think the problem is that it doesn’t have a “WOW” factor. Nothing shown is a must have. With Haslab you’re gonna want a giant Sentinel and Galactus if you’re a Marvel collector. Star Wars fans are gonna want the Razorcrest. For a lot of us there really isn’t a major need for another ring and ultimate edition of figs we already have that’s gonna make us want to spend $250. I honestly can’t think of a project on that scale that they could do for WWE. A Raw ring and entrance with Stone Cold and Rock would possibly do slightly better but still would probably come short of it’s goal.

I think my idea would have been better. Ring, entrance, ladder, Michaels, Diesel, Razor, IC titles.

Attitude Era ring with different skirts, Mankind, Hell in a Cell cage. Steve Austin with Beer truck, Zamboni, monster truck, etc. Wrestlemania 6 ring with Hogan and Ultimate Warrior, include entrance music effect. There's plenty of things to make that fans would want. Just gotta think outside the box sometimes.

I guarantee that even if you only get 2 you would be able to keep one and still make a profit on the 2nd hand market. If Bret/Warrior/Shawn ultimates are anything to go by then Diesel will be worth at least $150, an exclusive ring will probably be $400 minimum, and the stage could easily fetch $200. If Doink is added then you could throw another $150 on there. Basically you’d be getting a free ring, figures, stage and like $400-$500

Well, New Gen works, but some of the suggested tiers would boost sales. Doink and the aprons are fine, but a blue outside mat? Maybe ring barricade? The RAW letters? Can’t imagine that would have been terrible to produce and add, maybe as lower goals to Doink. YMMV.

Let's be real. Nobody as Mattel is disappointed. If they were they wouldn't do limited releases. Agreed! The fact that it sold out in like 3 minutes shows that the qty was super low. I had an offsite lunch with my boss when this went live and I’m usually able to snag 2 annual exlusives. With that being said, I’m not really into ultimates. The torso and feet look odd to me but this packaging was pretty dope. Not really hurting with this one but wouldn’t have minded scooping one up.

I don't blame anyone for not committing, but there's no way this ring and its included figures aren't going to be worth the money it takes to get them. It's a large chunk, and for some it's too large, and some people don't resell, but this is certainly an investment opportunity if people want to look at it that way. That's why my only criticism of Mattel here is not having packaged images of Diesel and Doink. That would really cement you're getting UE figures that are gonna shoot up in value, not just a couple Elites.

Do these crowd-funded projects have to be large scaled items? It makes sense for Marvel, DC, Star Wars, etc.
But I feel Mattel WWE would be better off doing crowd funded multi-figure packs. Factions, tag teams, historical matches/moments, etc. Whether it’s Elites, or Ultimates.
