Please tell me this is a parody He's only talking about the people that actually want this and are interested that are waiting until the end or to see if the numbers are high. It does make sense because all those people waiting until the end are causing numbers to stay where they are and puts others off. |

As cool as the set is, I can’t help but think they chose a terrible theme for the first one. That era of WWE is one of the least popular in history and it shouldn’t be a surprise that at that price point it’s not being backed at a greater rate. The ring is awesome and so is the stage but it’s far from my ideal arena setup. I hope it gets backed so we can get some RA or Attitude era stuff in the future but if it were me I would’ve started the Mattel Creations off with one of those eras.
Also Doink is such a shitty incentive let’s be real…

As cool as the set is, I can’t help but think they chose a terrible theme for the first one. That era of WWE is one of the least popular in history and it shouldn’t be a surprise that at that price point it’s not being backed at a greater rate. Maybe they should add an early bird reward. Order within the first two weeks and get something extra. An incentive to get it now. Maybe an announcer set including a table, cover, blue chairs, monitors, and headsets.

And, through the use of modern "Classic" logos, it doesn't even accurately represent that era. I know it's not Mattel's fault, but that WW block logo sucks and isn't screen accurate. Should've kicked off with an early Attitude era set with the giant RAW letters entrance or something else more iconic than the New Generation. |

I mean if it was just ultimate Doink, I'd back it in a heartbeat, since I would assume it would be at a lower backing price, plus it looks freaking amazing.

Feels weird that people are already blaming other consumers for not buying in on the project when the whole thing is Mattel’s fault. Firstly, let’s be upfront, no reason this should be priced at $250. The base package has Diesel ultimate which would retail at $30. Are the ring and entrance stage really worth $220? God no. Secondly, I get the attempt for attention to detail with the wood paneling and the steel base, but are you really gonna display this thing with the ring mat exposed and one of the posts down? Probably not. Thirdly, why new gen? Arguably one of the worst periods to be a wwf follower, don’t think there’s a mass appeal for a forgettable time period. Blame mattel for offering an over-priced and underwhelming project, not the consumer for deciding that it’s not worth the money.

Then I’d have backed the project”. Mattel shouldve done an AWA ring, remaking the old Remco set, with Nick Bockwinkel in his AWA Wrestlerock 1986 attire and AWA World Heavyweight Championship. The 2nd tier would be Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin & Steve Regal with AWA Tag Team Championships and the 3rd tier Magnum Scott Hall. |

I think they chose this era because a TitanTron set would be far more costly, and this entrance stage is more visually appealing than the Hammerstein Ballroom RAW letter stage. Having said all of that, you're 1000% right on the WW block logo. It is the sole reason I'm avoiding this set at all costs. Maybe if they left it off the ring apron instead of plastering it all over the place, but as is it looks absolutely ridiculous. |

People keep saying the $250 is too much but its priced absolutely perfectly..The only thing Mattel fubar'ed on is the 5000 mark. That part is where corporate greed comes in. They've shown us a physical ring...Not renders but an actual produced ring...That tells us that the molds/production pieces are already there. What we're paying for in the $250 is just the manufacturing/labor. Whether they make 5000, 2500 or 1000 of these pieces, once you add in their "Chinese manufacturing costs" & their added in gross margins if these are "made to order" then they are going to make a profit regardless.
