It’s the first Kane that actually looks like Kane. Was a last chance shot at debut style Kane, I was praying they nailed it and to be fair, they have. Very much looking forward to it. What is wrong with the previous Kanes? I think Mattel’s previous efforts look fantastic. The old school ones (attitude era and early 2000s) with a mask are terrible. Head sculpts look nothing like him. Never looked like a man in a mask, never painted correctly, missing details like the silver studs, hair has been awful (as with most figures when they try to do long hair/bangs - eg Bret Hart) always missing things like his beard (still hoping they add in some more detail for this on the UE). Always WAAAY too thin (UE torso helps here), wrong boots…for such an iconic character and to say they don’t need to get a face correct as such due to the mask, I’d have expected far better. I’ve been really wanting debut era Kane but I’ve held off in the hope they finally nail one and they have, so I’m really pleased about that but his other elites are woeful and will look even worse when you put them next to this one, so I’ll only be displaying this Kane. The others will stay MOC, hopefully they use the new heads (particularly the one with the hair pulled back) on more Kanes and I can replace the others. |

Their earlier efforts on e12 and the wm31 Kane were ok but most others have been a constant decline in quality to be fair. The paint job on the hardcore Kane mask was terrible, studs missing and wrong gauntlets on the SS Kane, decade Kane missing sculpted gauntlets and knee pads, the basic hardcore Kane doesn’t have complete mask stripes etc. Kane is my fave and I still collect all his figures, but Mattel has had their more than fair share of botches on nearly all of them and most are significant details like the belt area. I really really hope they do a UE hardcore Kane, that’s the only way the R3 or even TTL will ever be beat and with all the sculpted detail it’s begging for it. The new scan on the basic is decent but no masked Kane scan from any era or company compares with these two UE ones since basically the R3. They know Kane is guaranteed money no matter how much or how little effort this is, but it’s just super disappointing with blank belts, gauntlets the wrong way, terrible head scans, incorrectly painted masks, no glossy or laceless boots all on top with him being skinny as. They could made a Kane mold years ago and gotten 5-6 figures worth out of it. It just sucks that touch ups are required to get it to proper levels. And it’s even more baffling when all these fairly substantial details are missed, yet they’ve now twice included his logo on his glove he never wore other than a shop one commercial? |

The only thing that would make it better is if it had karate chop action like Kane’s very first action figure in ‘98 or ‘99. |

I mean, I'm very happy with my Elite 12 and Hall Of Champions Kane - but will still be getting this. The packaging for Ultimate Editions is kind of cool too. |

I agree with a lot of the posters in this thread. I love my elite 12 Kane and didn’t have a problem with it besides the boots and the mask sculpt. Mattel has never really done a good a job with his full mask. The singlet Kane’s are a disappointment every single one of them. They leave a lot to be desired. I’m hoping we get two more Ultimate Kanes. An ‘01 and ‘03. The ‘01 needs sculpted mesh detail, wide torso and the arms from this figure. They already have this headsculpt and the new basic, so they could easily reuse it. The ‘03 version could definitely use some upgrades. We need molded detail for his singlet, knee pads, legs and he needs the arms from this ultimate. I would love to see three heads. One head could had sculpted mask with his ears showing and painted goatee. Another could have his hair covering his ears. The last sculpt could be unmasked. Accessory could be gasoline tank.

So, correct me if I'm wrong here...but is it safe to assume that the Championship coming with this UE Kane should be the blue strap version?
I know the UE Austin just came with it, but for accuracies sake, it was still the blue strap when Kane won it from Austin.
I know Austin won it back the next night, but I can't remember if it was still blue on RAW, or if they switched to the black strap before the show started or afterwards once SCSA regained it

Kane will be nearing perfection if they fix the goatee (or lack thereof). His cape is also inaccurate, but I imagine that won’t be fixed.
Undertaker… ugh. Really odd upper body. Terrible head sculpts. The default one is awful. The other two are old man sculpts. And the tongue out one is inaccurate for that time. Also, the gloves are wrong again. He never wore MMA gloves in the 90s.
At least they finally got the boots right on both of them. Although, I hope they are aware that Kane’s boots are a glossy black while Undertaker’s should be matte black.

I wish they would sculpt hands like the Hollywood gloves. I love the detail at the wrists of those. I’m tired of the inaccurate MMA gloves for old school taker. The only figure that did it right was the WM 15 Taker.

I think this is actually the exact undertaker most on this board wanted and many would be upset if we got another grey/purple gloved undertaker - I personally prefer the grey/purple even tho it’s been done several times (just not in UE form yet).. |
