When I was a kid, my Dad had taped WrestleMania 9, WrestleMania 12, Royal Rumble ‘92 & ‘93 and Bash at the Beach ‘94 (which is tonight’s watch along with The Brain right here on WFIGS 😉👍) I never use to see wrestling tapes in stores until I was a bit older, so aside from the current product, I’d watch those tapes for years anytime I wanted on demand wrestling. How about you guys? What’s a PPV or show you’ve seen so many times for one reason or another? For me it’s those 5, I can turn them on today and they are like my default wrestling shows. I know them inside out haha.

This has been my eighth year of watching all the Wrestlemanias in the leadup to the event, so 21-29 I've gone thru so many times.
Outside of that, SummerSlam 2001. The only wrestling VHS I had as a kid so it got plenty of use. Didn't hurt that it was an awesome event to boot.

Me and my brothers would watch every event in order each year, man I haven’t done that in a while.

Im a sucker for well produced Royal Rumbles so for me I usually replay Rumble 92, Rumble 08, Rumble 09 a lot. Also Survivor Series 02, to me it was one of the best well rounded cards ever. If I'm jonesing for a random WWE event at any time I could put on one of those events and be happy.

It’s like the junk food of WWE ppv’s, it’s so satisfying haha. I have seen the 5 I mentioned SO MANY times, it’s probably an unrealistically outrageous number of times haha, but I have seen PPV’s like Survivor Series 02 a whole bunch. That’s one of my DVD’s I found in Sam Goody years later.

WrestleMania IV - My first event as a wrestling fan. As a kid I rented it nearly every weekend. Finally got myself the 2 tape Coliseum release in '98 and proceeded to watch the hell out of it. Have viewed it multiple times on the Network/Peacock.

Wrestlemania 19 or Backlash 2003 probably. I remember watching them alot on VHS. The tape I watched the most though was WWF Best of RAW volume 3 which was highlights of the year 2000. I would bring it to different friends house & they would be mind blown at how awesome WWF was back then.

For me, this was my WWE Network as a kid. I had all these events on PPV or taped off of TV. No Holds Barred: The Match/The Movie Royal Rumble 90 SummerSlam 90 Survivor Series 90 Royal Rumble 91 Wrestlemania VII SummerSlam 91 Survivor Series 91 Tuesday In Texas 91 Royal Rumble 92 Survivor Series 92 Royal Rumble 93 Wrestlemania IX King of the Ring 93 SummerSlam 93 Survivor Series 93 The Main Event Feb. 1991 Saturday Night's Main Event April 1991
WCW
Starrcade 92 Super Brawl 3 Halloween Havoc 93
Plus I had PPVs of SummerSlam 92, Royal Rumble 94, King of the Ring 94 and SummerSlam 94 as well as WCW Uncensored 95 but they all had no sound to them, just picture. So I rarely watched them because of that.

I never knew Best of Raw Volume 3 even existed haha, I had the volume 1 & 2 double pack and would always check for the volume 3 because Michael Cole references it at the end of tape 2. I never knew they made it. Those tapes were excellent, I watched 1 & 2 SO many times. I wish there was more stuff like that on the network.

I don’t keep a list obviously, but if I was to guess
Royal rumble 2001 Invasion Wrestle mania 19/20/24 Armageddon 2000
These ones I know I’ve watched more then 3-4 times for sure, every other ppv would be 1-3 max - and these would be full shows - I’ve watched certain matches from Other shows more but not the full show

It’s one of the most entertaining Rumble matches.

Rumble 1992 is as great a moment for Flair as it was for Heenan. How many times can you say that about an announcer? He was gold on commentary, In general, but especially that night.

Royal Rumble 92. First big event I ever saw (and still one of my favourites). I watched it when it was first shown on sky and taped the rerun. I remember when the undertaker came out it cut to the adverts and there was an advert for NatWest bank (uk) that used the excellent Crockett’s Theme. Was the only set of adverts I didn’t fast forward purely for the tune.
Seems a popular choice in this thread so no need for me to explain how great an event it was.
Honourable mentions go to Survivor Series 89, 93 and 95.

The coolest things the WWF used to put out were year in review VHS tapes for specific superstars. Rock had 2: Know your Role (highlighting his feuds from KOTR 99 till RR 00) & Just Bring It which looked at the rest of his 2000 & 2001. Austin had atleast 1 I know of, probably more. Jericho had Break Down the Walls looking at his run from his debut in 99 to mid 2000. Kurt Angle had one too. These were like early versions of the Chronicles or 365 docs they do now on the network with not as much backstage footage but still plenty of cool behind the scenes interviews & stuff outside the ring. As for Best of RAW volume 3. It is definitely not as well known as Vol 1 & 2. They were both released on DVD while V3 was not. Meaning it is quite rare these days. It's a tape I cherish alot, so much so I made sure to burn it onto my computer. If you would like the Google Drive file, PM me with your email & I'll hook you up

Feel free to explain how great it was, it’s a discussion forum, discuss! haha Ok, you’ve twisted my arm!! This is more my personal experience than any sort of critique of the show. My first exposure to wrestling would have been in the mid to late eighties, to the World of Sport British Wrestling. A far cry from its peak, it was a shell of its once exciting brand. Fast forward to the beginning of 92 and my family had cable tv installed (I’m from a relatively poor family, so we were in no position to have gotten sky when it became popular in the late eighties). I had just turned 12 and it was like a whole new world had been opened up to me. First show I watched was the Simpsons. WWF wrestling was popular with school peers at the time, so naturally I was going to check it out. I seem to think that I’d heard of Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant and King Kong Bundy (though I may be confusing him with the British wrestler King Kong Kirk). The first angle I ever saw was the Rockers on the Barber Shop. I had been told that wrestling was “fake” but couldn’t compute that if it was so fake, why did the blonde guy throw the dark haired guy through a window. Marty was bleeding, so it must have been real. I sometimes wish I’d retained that naivety. I loved all the weird and wonderful colourful characters. My initial favourite was my fellow “Scottish” person, Roddy Piper. Repo Man made me laugh, The Mountie was a hoot and there were too many to mention but loved the majority of who I saw, mainly bad guys though. Then there was Ric Flair. In the hype for the Rumble, he just seemed boring - plain trunks, no gimmick (I.e. occupation) and looked old. I saw him no different to Dale Wolfe, Jim Evans, Mike Sharpe et al. In the Rumble match, when Flair came out and Heenan went in to complete meltdown, I became hooked on wrestling. Between Ric’s performance and Heenan frantically worrying about his “meal ticket” was a fantastic match. If you told me The Brains job was really on the line I’d have believed you. Nowadays there are times I put the event on in the background. I’ve seen it so many times that I can picture what’s going on by the commentary without looking. The Flair flop, Woooo, his interview -tear in my eye and pay homage to the man etc - and general work rate in the ring instantly made me a Nature Boy fan. Special mention for Vince saying Haku (another favourite of mine). Have so many great memories of the Rumble event. I have butterflies in my stomach just typing this.
