I love this forum.
I love Mattel's Elite scale sized figures
I love how Steve takes the time to interact with us and answers questions.
I have a massive collection and have been a loyal customer from the beginning of Mattel WWE and as far back as the original LJN.
But I am sadly getting over it.
I was so excited to see the reveals yesterday and saw the cool concept of Movie themed figures. I said to myself I want that Piper, Rock and Andre The Giant. Today, literally less than 24 hours of the reveal .. the preorder is up at Walmart and Piper is already gone. What the heck!! If you are like me ... I want ALL of you to have a shot at it. I get no satisfaction that I got it and you didn't. But how in 2021 with technology can we not all get a crack at it?
I get an email that Hulk Hogan is on preorder at Amazon. As soon as I got the e-mail I followed the link and he was no longer available. How can that be?
On the last reveal I thought .. I want that Brutus the Barber Beefcake. For awhile I saw the figure on the site and requested them to send me when he was available to buy ... now his figure is no longer there and people are selling them on Ebay for an astronomical price.
Kama .. I really paid attention to Walmart ... never saw it ... gone.
Got an email Sgt. Slaughter was available at WWE Shop. Went there right away. GONE@
So I see these reveals and if I did like something .... I am almost saying .. what's the point?
Then I see people getting excited about Rey Mysterio's little boy who was featured for a day or the Goon .... which was around for a few months at best and wonder how we don't have Ivan Koloff, Or Pedro Morales, Putski, Brody, The Butcher Stan Hansen, Hercules, Patera and so many others who were not only Main eventers but in the Hall of Fame. Maybe I am alone here ... and boy do I feel alone ... but for those talking about rebuilding their collection ... get ready because this customer is sadly getting over it.

It happens. I sold off my stuff a few years ago. I'll never get my elite cm punks, legends LOD, or a bunch of others. But I've bought new stuff and I'm much pickier now. Bad distribution has kinda been a blessing.

Dude, I’m with you on that Beefcake. How do you put a chase figure online only? He came with the silver tag belt. I want those belts and both Beefcakes. And the Hogan amazon thing really sucks. It’s HULK HOGAN. The most popular wrestler of all time. That figure should have been on shelves.
And while I think it’s kinda cool that there’s a Goon (which I’ll never ever be able find), they can make a Goon but not a say, an 80’s Bruno or Mr. Fuji?

It’s been a bad 2-3 days for releases/pre-orders, besides RSC.
Slaughter came and went
UE Hogan & Jeff came and went
Legends 12 never went up
Apparently the Hollywood figs came and went

It has been very bad with online orders and pre orders. Whatever they are trying is failing.

And again ... because I like Mattel, their product and staff ... I REALLY want to see them succeed .... but if we don't have a shot at this it reminds me of the Playmates Star Trek show on Netflix ... eventually the collectors had enough. I DON'T want to see this. Please have a reissue of these either from Mattel (where they will be in control of their own destiny) or WWE Shop or Ringside please.

I get EXACTLY how you feel, and have been slowly shoring up the gaps in my collection through customs and the work of some talented people like Glorydays and Apocalypse. So far, I've had The Killer Bees, the British Bulldogs, Jesse Ventura, Slick, Ken Patera, Hercules, The Genius, a neon green Warrior, Simon Gotch, Koko B. Ware, Dino Bravo and Frenchy Martin made, and I did my own Cap'n Lou fixup. Yes, yes before someone brings it up, I get that no Legends deal means no figures, but even they guys they have the rights to they don't use well. Why is there still no Hollywood Blondes Pillman? Why didn't they make another Harley Race when they had him? WHERE ARE THE MEGA POWERS? I hope this helps, I found Kama on Amazon for $35 with free shipping. if you look up Kama, he's one of the first hits you get. I know it's not retail, but it still should be lower than the bay. I wish they had Col. Mustafa too. |

I feel ya, it's exhausting getting excited for products and figures only to feel like you were misled.
I typically miss out on Target Legends but have to try and play the long game.

I got over it when I couldn’t find the chase Valentine or Dibiase. I really wanted them but I got forced to not care and now it’s better that I don’t Yes totally forgot about Ted DiBiase. I tried him too. It really gets me angry but maybe I won't care soon. Thanks for not making me feel like it's just me. |

I fully understand. It’s frustrating, annoying, and pointless. I felt this way years ago and mainly went to JUST collecting flashbacks. Then over the last year I started buying newer characters again, but I’ve realized why and I don’t like it. I’m buying newer characters because I’m not finding any flashbacks. I occasionally order online but I don’t preorder much anymore or care to. I’ll continue to buy what I like but this past week or so has been something else. I heard for YEARS that legends don’t sell, but they forever sellout in stores where I live and online this past week has been beyond ridiculous. They take that stance on flashbacks but everytime they wanna sell a new ring, new series, or almost anything it’s done off the back of a flashback. Then it becomes scalper fodder. Stop rewarding this behavior already (which is worse when stuff is ONLINE ONLY with bots and the like) and start rewarding actual collectors who support your product. I saw this happen with sneakers thru the years and if toy companies follow that model, a lot of collectors are gonna be pissed and BROKE.

Couldn’t agree more I spend a disgusting amount of money on this hobby, I’ve given up trying online, I just know if I want these toys, secondary market and scalper prices it is. They need to find a remedy I know exclusives are a thing for a reason but it’s horrific RSC needs to be given these to distribute or maybe learn from 2020 to MASS produce more I.e. Xbox/ps5

I've been over it for a long time now. I get everything I need for retail or preferably cheaper. If I can't get it that way; oh well. There's no need to fret about it. I'm never going to have everything & when I die I can't take my collection with me lol. I have to much stuff already & running out of space

This has certainly been frustrating, but really these are preorders and most of these will still be found in store.
Legends 10 - these were up for preorder previously - April 8 per my orders. This was before we were told that Brutus and DDP were online exclusive.
Legends 12 - preorders should have gone up - but didn't for... whatever.... reason. Reason TBD. BUT - these will still be available in stores. AND they should be up for preorder, just not at the time promised. So I fully expect to still get these.
Amazon Exclusive Ultimate Hogan & Hardy - THIS is the one that hurts. Personally, I just want the Hogan, but apparently disappeared within a few minutes. I really hope this was only a small portion of their inventory, or this is like how they handled the Fan Takeover Elites, and they do get restocked at least a few times.
SDCC Sgt. Slaughter - This behaved pretty much like every other SDCC exclusive. Mr T seemed to disappear just as fast last year, but that was a first time in the line figure too. I would have thought this would have lasted a bit longer, but am not surprised.
Hollywood Elite - Piper sold out quickly, while Cena & the Rock are still there. I was lucky enough to get one this morning, but again, these will be sold in store. I expect these to not be hard to find.
So in the grand scheme of things, I don't think we will have a hard time getting most of these, but it will not be as easy as the preorder method.
The main issue is that we are not getting any information on what is going on. I really enjoy that Steve interacts here, and hope that we hear something soon.
