What do u think started the craze for the UE line, I know the line wasn’t doing too well, and looked liked it would end, with the balors rondas, and shinskes peg warming, Even the warrior was sitting, and all of a sudden, something just happened and boom. The line took off. Was it COVID. I know the ultimates were hard to find early in the pandemic. Maybe people were scared to shop, and rather do it online, thus increasing prices for these figures. Was it just the overall love of the legends. The line started to get better with more legends coming out. Was It the rock ultimate that set off the craze?

The rock. the figure is and was awesome. Once people had it in their hands they wanted what they passed on and they had to go to ebay to pick up the figures that they missed. The new demand made most of the prices go way up!

Personally, I think you got a whole bunch of people investing in this stuff that didn’t use to be and are inflating the entire market. The fact that they weren’t selling makes it a good candidate for investors to scoop up the product cheap and then drive the demand way up.

I think the pandemic to be honest. I remember the first two series sitting on amazon for a good while. The next series came out and then they started to disappear.

And I think they were lame choices for the UE line, nobody cares about old edge, should’ve been a rated r edge or a early RA edge. And the macho should’ve been a nwo version. I think the target Batista and Kane will rejuvenate the line.

I think the series with Shawn and Brock being hard to find unlike the ones before it followed by the Rock after it sold out drove up the price of all the others. The new ones don't seem hard to find thankfully.

HBK was like 150 when Rock was 80-100 so HBK first but Rock started the rise in price again
Now both are over 200

The craze of what exactly… secondary prices? If that’s what you’re getting at, then probably as others have said the HBK/Lesnar series not being available at Target. And neither was the next series with Cena/Becky, then the one after them was Rock on Amazon.

The ones you mentioned are affordable because they are easily obtainable almost anywhere. A year from now most of the ones you mentioned will probably be in the triple digits.

I really think it has to do with talent choices.
Not a whole lot of people wanted Ronda or Shinsuke and even figures that were of popular names like Triple H and Demon Finn weren't the best representations of those characters (compared to certain Elites).
But once Series 4 hit and you got into figures that were big names, great looks, and they weren't readily available, interest int the line skyrocketed. Add to that figures like The Rock which, if you slap on a pair of track pants, is hands down the best Attitude Era Rock we are ever going to get, and the line is flying high.
And no, I don't think it has died down. The Macho and Edge might not be the most iconic figures of them but I really think that the SCSA and Flair figures are going to shoot through the roof once they sell out. Hollywood Hogan and Fiend I can see happening too, especially with Bray's release. And the new Jeff and Hogan amazon figures are already there. The craze hasn't died down at all.

I stopped collecting for a long while, and missed the start of the Ultimates, but it is now the only WWE line I will collect. I do remember seeing Warrior, Ronda Rousey, Shinsuke, and Triple H while shopping with my son, but none of them blew me away in-hand (other than Shinsuke, but not at $30).
However, when I saw the Hollywood Hogan figure, I couldn't pass it up. I now have Hollywood, Flair, SCSA, Shinsuke (I got him sealed for $16!), Sgt. Slaughter, and just got a pretty good deal on a loose/complete Bret.
Hopefully the next HBK is as good as the last, and there's a comparable Rock released at some point. I'd also like the classic Hogan.
So...names people want, in the attires they want, might be the answer.

The Hollywood Hogan UE got me back into collecting figures. I'd be willing to bet that's one of the best selling Mattel wwe figures of all time.
It's a great line, I just think they should do all Legends and not current stars.

It's a great line, I just think they should do all Legends and not current stars. I'm a little worried with them announcing the Legends line you'll see a majority of then switching over there and the main line focusing on current talent. As an international collector I'm already dreading how I'm going to get that Batista next year.
