Raven-Hated him ECW (Which shows how good he was) didn't care enough to watch him in WCW
Now when I look back on that stuff,12-17 years later I am so invested in it
Such a great character and i nejoy his Ravis flock in WCW and honestly it could have been so much more to

Honestly... John Cena.
I didn't realize how important he was to the WWE until he left for those few years. He was a huge star attraction that could crossover into media, where as so many current stars can't.
So looking back now at the RA era of his career, I realize how important he was in that era.

John Cena
I was never a John Cena kid, after 2007, i always hated him growing up and how he was always the top number 1 guy who always wins.
I started to appreciate him in 2015 when he moved down the card a bit and into the US Title picture, but i still wasn't sold. When he really started to slow down in 2018, and appeared less and less every year, that's when i really started to appreciate Cena. Seeing him gone for all that time really made me appreciate the star power and presence he brought to a card. So when he returned at MITB, i was genuinely excited and happy to see him back, and it's been the same every week since.
I only ever had 2 Jakks Cena figures growing up, which i got in 2007. After that i never got another Cena figure until the WM34 Elite came out. So i went 10 years without getting a Cena, that's how much i didn't like or care for him...
Now, i've bought a lot of Cena figures since, 7 if i counted right. Granted some were just used for parts to make an Ultimate (Elite) Cena, but still plenty more than what i thought i would ever own say 5 years ago.
I've currently got 3 Cena's on display. 2 on my Raw shelf, and 1 on my ECW shelf.

The Model Rick Martel, was never a fan of his growing up. But years later when I re-watched a lot of stuff from this era I realized how talented he was. Tremendous in-ring performer and played his character to a tee. Though, you can probably say that about a lot of traditional heel characters, it was there job to get you to hate them, but when you get older you just realize how good they were because they did what they were supposed to do. Dibiase, Rude, Perfect, etc. all come to mind as well.

John Cena.
I was a fan of his when I was a kid ('03-'05) and turned on him (like a LOT of us) after he moved to RAW and became Super Cena. In 2015, after he won the U.S. title, I became a fan of his again as his open challenges were just so entertaining to me.
However, it wasn't until last year when he wasn't around, I realised just how much he does for WWE.

hated him back in the day. but watching old stuff he was such a big part of WCW esp vs the NWO days. it ws mainly because i knew he was bischoffs best friend and why he got puished so much. but lookin back, he was good everywhere and his pretty manager/wife helped alot too lol

Jeff Jarrett.
Honestly hated him as a kid in late WCW, thought he had go away heat. But as I have aged, saw him in TNA and appreciated his work as a good villain, he grew on me and I see how good he actually was.
Solid hand in the ring. Underrated even. So polished. Deserved the spot he had in WWF. Probably was the most reliable in TNA for those years to be the biggest heel, so I get his reign of terror. World champion in WCW? Maybe, maybe not but he still played a great heel.

I was heavily invested in wrestling as a whole when he debuted, so I've been cognizant of his career all along. I loved his early work, loved The Brood, even loved the Edge & Christian comedy act, but I kind of began drifting away right as he and Christian split up. I'd poke my head back in now and then, and it always seemed strange to me to see him at the very top of the card and roster because I had this pre-fixed perception of him as a tag-team guy who'd only just gone solo. I've since gone back to brush up on the stuff that I'd missed in the interim, and damned if he isn't one of the best they've had. It kinda makes me wish I hadn't strayed as much as I had, because he's one of the guys I'd honestly be able to say that I watched from the very beginning, but it's still incredible to look back on this guy who was still relatively new to the show when I lost interest and see the career he's had since.

Agree with Cena, he turned me off the current product but can appreciate his contributions now.
My personal one would be Jerry Lawler. When he first arrived in the WWF I was aware of some of his work in Memphis but genuinely felt he was too little league to be taken seriously. On reflection, his work was stellar, a total heat magnet and played a huge part in establishing Bret as one of the biggest stars of the New Generation.

When I was a kid, his heel run was just bizarre to me haha, now I watch it and it’s the most entertaining stuff on RAW at that time.
